When speaking, he often trills his Rs. The most distinctive feature of Rel's is his war mask, painted with violet and red markings. His skin is reddish brown, and his eyes are reptilian and orange, all three traits of which are exceedingly common in his species.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

Rel is a salt of the earth kind of person, he has a decent moral compass but doesn’t jump into harm's way to do the right thing. To his detriment, he often times plays the role of a bystander to the more wicked around him. He is a very persistent person though, given his upbringing, and doesn't give in easily. He holds veterans, sages, and the wise very highly. While he understands the Force as a whole well enough, Rel has full belief in his people’s pantheon and believes that they have their place in the Force. He comes across as simple-minded or just quiet, he can actually be very talkative once you've gotten to know him, in his usual blunt manner. But this rarely happens, given his profession and the unique caveats it comes with.

STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
Perceptive - Rel is unnaturally perceptive, aided by his connection to the Force and species’ ability to see in the dark. That said, he is a skilled tracker and marksman.

Survivalist - Having spent much of his life in the wilderness of many planets, Rel knows how to survive in many different climates.

Persistent - Given his upbringing, Rel has a persistence to him and stays on task for as long as he deems necessary. A better way of saying it, he's stubborn.

Superstitious - Given his spiritual upbringing, Rel is very superstitious and quick to favor a mystical outlook over a more logical view.

Matter-of-Fact - Rel is a terrible liar, not very persuasive, and generally has trouble talking to others. In other words, he’s unable to sugar-coat it and is always blunt.

Of The Forest - People have never been his strong suit, and these days he finds better company in the wilds. In his own opinion, Rel is better suited for the places animals thrive than any bustling city center.

HISTORY

Prologue
A native of the planet Kalee, Rel Dyri was born into a small nomadic tribe, which would later dissolve when their numbers became too low, having lasted roughly fifty years. His mother, Yuma, a former big game and bounty hunter, was the strongest role model in his life. She was very protective of Rel, after the loss of her husband. With a strong precedent and focus on the virtues of hunting, at the age of 8 he was at his mother's side, with a rifle in his hands. Even now he remembers the instructions she gave the first time he pulled the trigger, ‘deep breaths, close the eye you aren't using - this isn't a blaster, so it'll kick.’ Rel never knew his father, but his mother often told him how he'd been killed by a Rancor some time before he was born. Yuma always blamed herself for that, her husband had been wanting to hunt one of the beasts for some time, but she was pregnant at the time and couldn't go with him. She even encouraged Rel’s father, fully believing in his ability. When he didn't return, she sobbed for weeks on end.

Being brought up in a spiritual society, Rel was taught at a young age to hold his people's pantheon close to heart, another trait spurred on by his mother, who herself was quite spiritual in nature. He and his mother were always very distant from the rest of the tribe, so it came as no surprise when both of them left in the middle of the night. The tribe was already on a decline, and unknown to them, within the next ten years it would've completely disbanded. For all of his teenage years, Rel traveled the galaxy with his mother. Never knowing Galactic Basic, a lot of these early years he spent learning it. Even after all this time, his Kaleeshi accent is still very thick. Yuma’s love of big game hunting hadn't diminished with time and she was just as devoted to it as she had been all those years ago. Learning as they went, Rel saw first hand how to track Gundarks, what bait works best on Wampas, and where exactly you needed to shoot a Reek to give it a quick death. They always avoided Rancors, however, and Rel wasn't a genius but he knew why. He'd ask about it, but Yuma never elaborated on his father's death, she never even mentioned his name nor the planet he went to. It was a closed subject as far as she was concerned.

Into adulthood, he and his mother went their separate ways. She was getting old now, and he had accumulated enough money to buy her a place on Coruscant, much to her dismay. She didn’t like the city of metal, it was unnatural to her, unfamiliar. For her son’s sake, though, she made due. He visited as often as he could, giving her credits and being as thoughtful as any son who loves his mother would, although he had made his wealth through bounties, so he never could stay long. Bounty hunting was a lot like big game hunting, and he could see why his mother found success in both walks, given how interchangeable some of the skills were. He was never happy with bounty hunting, he didn't relish his marks, but it gave him ample opportunity to polish his sharpshooting skills, which he'd become almost unnaturally good at. Rel’s heart would break one day visiting his mother. She hadn’t been returning calls, and he suspected something was wrong. Her home was empty, by his estimate, it’d been either two or three days. He found a note, his mother never got over the death of his father, and the note detailed how she was going to slay the Rancor that killed him. She said not to worry, that it would only take a week. He put trust into his mother. He had faith in her for a short time. But like his father, she never returned.

Years later, Rel still sights his rifle. He didn’t let grief shape him, it wouldn’t take hold of him like so many people. But now he had little purpose besides wandering. He hoped to one day avenge his parents, but without any information to go, that’d be a difficult task. He thought that maybe he should put it to rest, he didn’t want to add another soul to the pile. So now, Rel aims on the next bounty, and fires.
