With the eruption of the Great Galactic War, the kidnapping of the Empress of Teta and the realization of the existing love relationship between her and his cousin Asharad Graush, along with internal struggles for power within the FOSB, Therran realized he could not maintain enough efforts on the other side of the galaxy with his alter-persona Kalo Draxler. There was too much going on back in First Order side of the galaxy which affected him in a much greater level than his attempts to build a sphere of influence this far away.

Thus, he had accepted an offer to sell Baktoid Industries to an ambitious client. A man from Didact Defence Solutions. He would gain what funds he can from this deal and consolidate his ambitions in First Order space.

Kalo had guaranteed no employment changes to the current employees for the purpose if he needed connections in the future around here. Mecetti had agreed and now Kalo awaited the noble to arrive in his office so they could seal the deal.

Once upon a time Baktoid Industries was a name to be reckoned with in the Galaxy.

They had served the likes of the Galactic Republic and the CIS at once, but those days were long over. Broken apart in some obscure trade war decades ago, tried to be brought back a number of times, but every time the efforts were... less than successful. Tash was not interested in the Baktoid name truth to be told. The moment the print was dry, he'd drop it.

No, he was paying money for other things- their expertise in automation, droids, they even owned a shipyards.

With the price being reasonable and Didact's business booming? It was just the way to go towards expanding the defense contractor's operations and locations within the Corporate Sector.

Itash stepped on through the door. "Mister Draxler." He settled himself down in a chair. "Lord Itash of House Mecetti."

The greeting out of the way, he crossed one leg after another, sizing up the man before him. "You were quite the presence during that awful event on Etti IV, so many deaths, but you managed to keep your wits about you throughout it all."

A Tapani noble. Very befitting attitude, posture, body language.

He'd learned about them. The perks of being born in a noble, but different, house himself.

"Lord Mecetti." Kalo gave him a respectful nod. "Ah, yes. The unfortunate terrorist incident." He had almost forgotten about it due to all the events happening simultaneously in his life. "Same goes to you, Lord."

He decided to wave that topic away and get straight to business.

"Your offer is quite alluring, I will be honest." He began. "What I do wish, and that is a decisive point, is that the board of directors remains the same. As per our agreement, of course, complete and final authority will be in your hand just as it was in mine, previously. You will come to see the board is only filled with capable people, looking forward to guide you into the complex droid industry."

The pleasantries were put aside and Tash was thankful for that.

It was exhausting.

"That saves me the trouble of finding new people, don't it?" The Tapani nobleman began with a bright smile, wide and cheerful. "If these people are competent and wise beyond measure, why remove them from their positions, true enough." Oh, there were plenty of reasons for that. The largest being that he had no interest in allowing Draxler any form of influence within the company once he was bought out.

That was simply a bother that Tash did not want to contend with.

"But what if they make mistakes, mister Draxler? Do you wish for me to retain them even then?"

That would be very unreasonable, would it not?

Smarter than he thought.

Kalo had underestimated the noble. Thinking of him as a stereotypical, arrogant and unable to see what's in front of him even if it was shining.

Perhaps there was more to that. If the businessman was not under cover, he would've squinted his eyes suspiciously. He would keep his tabs on this man, if his resources allowed him to. If not - there were more important happenings on the other side of the galaxy.

"Six months guarantee." He stated. "No more, no less."

It was the middle ground, and perhaps the most he could consolidate. If they did end up fired, they would see that Kalo still gave them a chance and thought about them. Besides, Mecetti should think twice before turning potential allies into enemies. Enemies which have been born and bred in the rough Corporate Sector where only the largest fish survive. Nonetheless, that would be the Tapani noble's issue after this deal went through. Kalo could not bother more attention here.

Pressing matters were at hand.

"That is all I require for this deal to go through with you."

The smile turned soft, but remained.

Now that was more reasonable and the quick capitulation showed that Draxler realized he had been found out. A six-month's guarantee was something that Tash could stomach for now. After all, there were six of them on the board- a limited number and once some of them were... disposed of and replaced with a few more loyal souls at the table?

Well, then the small minority of Kalo loyalists would be neutralized.

As easy as that.

Or maybe Tash would find out that they had more interest in cold-stone cash than the friendly thoughts of a man who was on his way out of the Corporate Sector. Who could know, until the deal was already made?

"Now that is something I can guarantee." Tash accepted with a nod, before leaning back against his seat in relaxation. "Run me through Baktoid, mister Draxler, the locations, the operations you have right now? Public records only show so much." The rest was disclosed by close Didact investigation, but Kalo did not need to know that whatsoever.

Wouldn't be fun.

"Perfect." Kalo said sliding his datapad forward expecting the man's signature.

"Baktoid, once a massive coporation, or so the history accords show. What's left of them, anyways. It went through the Gulag plague, survived and was strong for a while. Things declined over the years but these are things you already know so onto what's important."

"Quite smaller than what is used to be centuries ago, if we go by what's left of historical annals. The potential, the expertise, though is already there." Kalo was honest but he was also knew he had to sell this. "Manufacturing happens on Tothis, Logistics are executed on Bonadan. Fairly short distance between the two. Significantly decreases transportation costs and threats of piracy or raids is nonexistant. While Baktoid is known for its droids and its vehicles, many underestimate the sheer magnitude of their ship building capabilities and portfolio."

"It is a game changer."

He took the datapad in his hand as he listened to the sales' pitch.

Because that's what it was.

Heavy on exposition, little on concrete facts, but that was the way it was when it came to one speaker to the other. The actual nitty grit was elaborated between the two teams of lawyers and paperworkers. That's how it always went, it was... neater that way. Pouring over all the paperwork yourself seemed nonsense. But having a team of glassed individuals who lived for it?

Well, they had to make a living somehow.

"That sounds fascinating." Tash responded, before bringing his pen to the 'pad. Then halting right there for a moment. "I am curious though. What made you shift to selling this yourself?"

Head tilted an inch.

It didn't really matter, but Itash was a curious sort and this was something that interested him a little bit. "It has the potential to be quite profitable, that much I can see, of course." With or without ditching Baktoid, so why was he pulling out immediately? It had nothing to do with the terrorist attack. The gentle probe hadn't shown any concern whatsoever about that.

He took the datapad and as the noble pried some more, Kalo felt a sour taste in his mouth. The businessman tried to keep his irritation at bay. In the end, he was just a successful CEO, right?

"Personal matters, Lord Mecetti concerning my homeworld of Tion and...the recent Sith appearance there." Draxler lied, whether it was blatantly obvious or caught only by the most perceptive, he could not care much. He had done what he had to. "Glad to have done business with you." His hand went for a shake and after, if, it was taken he would gently gesture at the door from where the noble entered.

[member="Kalo Draxler"]

Oh, the irritation was palpable.

But the hand was taken regardless and a shake came forward without a beat in their rhythm. Itash had struck a nerve, there was a lie here and that was almost enough to make him purr. He restrained himself. There was much to lose by prying too far and not enough profit to coax it out. Not yet, anyway. But Didact would keep an eye on this Kal Draxler.

Tion, he said?

They would see about that.

"The pleasure was all mine, mister Draxler." But he was a Lord, was he not? It was something about the stance of his shoulders. Itash had always been able to spot nobility from a mile away. Just for a moment, when irritation was at its highest and the lie was most difficult to maintain... the act had bend around the shoulders first and foremost.

"Perhaps we will meet again."

Then Tash took his leave, no sense in pressing the issue just yet.
