Recon: Dathomir

Location: Warlock's Gate
Objective: Unknown

The Witches that had come to abide the Warlock Gate's presence, pay tribute to the lost, study its present, and perhaps hope for a future felt a growing pressure around the gate. Only moments passed before the pressure crackled and then split as a pale woman stumbled from the aether. Wide-eyes and open mouths followed the abrupt appearance of a Nightsister where once one had not been. Her attire was not of Dathomir, but there was no mistaking the tattoos -- the craft and ink used to infuse them in a Sister were unmistakable by any that knew them.

Vytal was bent over for a moment, her stomach heaving from being thrust back into the material plane. They called it 'reality,' but were the other planes truly any less real? Ah, but she straightened and her eyes began to focus on the figures that slowly drew nearer. It took a moment of her bright eyes squinting through the haze before they too widened. The Nightsister's heart skipped a beat. Could it be?

A hand tentatively stretched out toward her, and Vytal in turn slowly reached out in turn. Their fingers intertwined together and shock began to give way to joy. Dathomir. Witches of Dathomir. Home. A soft laugh fell from Vytal's lips as the burdens of the outside world were banished instantly from her thoughts. She embraced her Sister from another Clan with a soft sob. "How I've missed you all," she murmured against the other woman's shoulder.

So long she had been away. Since she'd fled into the stars to bring strength home. Not once had she returned as it was far larger and more turbulent Above than expected. Acquiring the riches of offworlders had proven difficult. Now, she found herself home. Sooner than she'd dreamed. Without the many blessings she intended to return with; without the Four that had accompanied her. No, this could not be forever -- to bask in the darkness of Home, to hunt the many beasts of Home -- but neither did she need to dwell on such things. For now, Vytal was content.

Another Sister threw a cloak about Vytal with a quick glance aside as they pulled her further from the Gate. They did not wish to have the returned drawn back within its clutches, nor draw the gaze of outsiders that might be watching.

Vytal looked at them confused by their actions before they pointed to the towers nearby. Plural. So the Sith had come to Dathomir. In far greater force than Vytal had ever dreamed before she'd set off on her adventure among the stars. Bad enough the Mandalorians had set up that monstrous fortification unopposed. It was a blight on the skyline of Dathomir. At least the Sith's tower was no so ostentatious, which was a strange and unexpected reversal in Vytal's mind.
