Reclaiming Defaulted Ownership

This was, perhaps, the last thing Sigma expected himself to do, but the boy Rhoujen had instilled a few of his desires into his personality when they... merged. One of those was to possess this company. It was a sensible request, Ash reasoned. The incoming profits generated by the company could help fund his endeavours, and having a whole laboratory at his disposal was simply too good an option to pass up. Now came the matter of ownership. Atretes Rhoujen was announced critical condition, and with his disappearance he was likely presumed dead by corporate imbeciles. So how did one resolve that? Well, if you're a genetically augmented Force super soldier with military contacts and an inherited flair for showmanship, you did something like hire a starfighter to carry you to the newly-established headquarter spire on the Hypori ring from a local warship while you wore a hermetically sealed suit with an oxygen tank. Yeah, that's pretty much it.

The velocity made it hard for Ash to hang on, but he managed it. The pilot of the little fighter said that he could pass this off as a simple practise exercise so long as he only swept past the spire at high velocity. Put simply, he wouldn't be slowing down. That was fine, things never sent the squishy way when it came to this particular brand of protagonist. Or antagonist. The man wasn't exactly sure what he was at this point, he just knew he was looking out for his best interests. A couple hundred metres from the spire and Sigma released the fighter. It accelerated on without him, and he was left hurling at the spire. He wiggled slightly to rotate himself, and he landed on the metal superstructure feet-first. He gave a moment for his body to adjust to the loss of inertia, which involved several deep breathing exercises and a moment for the ache in his knees to wear out, and then he began his spacewalk. He'd have to wait a few moments. He wasn't worried about company security. He'd have a long enough window of opportunity to establish himself as full stockholder and CEO again before they showed up, and then he could just wave them off with the show of credentials. What he was concerned about was HySec. Hypori's security personnel were military-grade and under the payroll of the ACA. While he was on good terms with them as a whole, he didn't need them banging down the doors. That would be bad for reputation and, ultimately, business.

Five minutes passed.

Ten. The contact was running late. Hopefully that wasn't tell of betrayal.

Then it happened. A small flash from a view port. The agreed upon "signal" that was also the trigger. The area flashed red as a local alarm was triggered, and the glow followed along the ring as the security laid chase to the aggressor who did little more than shoot a maintenance droid. It would be easy for him to clear out of... maybe cost a couple hundred thousand credits... but these things happen. Sigma wondered if he'd see more business with that individual, but he set that wayward thought aside. There were more important matters to deal with. He walked along the spire, and followed a map he was given until he was outside the server room. Databases were always the fun part. He blew open a view port with a pulse of energy, and slipped in before the emergency hatch slammed shut. A dull orange glow emitted from the area. Secondary offence to the original, on private property. At least, that's what he was told the orange meant. Hypori security, occupied as it was, would leave it alone. SudoSec was his new problem. He'd have to work quickly. He kicked a sporadic astromech droid onto its side where it would remain motionless but whirring and beeping, and he turned to the nearest access terminal. He tapped his way to a login screen. Voice command.

"Come on Rhou, let's see what's in that mind of yours..." Ash muttered under his breath as he screened memories inherited from the boy.

He had nothing, just faded material. That was somewhat understandable, since he didn't set up the security systems. Still, he had to try something. Maybe simply stating his name and intent would be enough.

"Atretes Rhoujen requesting direct access to systems." he spoke to the console.

It gave a 'Please Wait...' screen for half a moment before it chimed and opened total access to what it thought was the founder of the company. He grinned at the success of such a simple thing and immediately got to work. He could sense the life signatures of worried security personnel approaching rapidly. If they were sensed, they weren't far away. His first order of business was to deactivate the alarm before it lasted too long. That would cause worry from Hypori's security, so it needed to be addressed. It also served to confuse the guards and buy him precious seconds. Next, he set to work transferring all rights to Atretes Rhoujen. That was easy enough, just highlight the entire database and set ownership rules. Next, he created an administrator-level account for Ash Valente and transferred all rights to that. When it asked for a voice confirmation, he grinned as he spoke.

"I, Atretes Rhoujen, hereby transfer all rights and ownership of Sudoka Industries to Mister Ash Valente."

The system worked for a moment. Then it chimed. It was done. He tapped a button and a nearby machine whirred and printed out a plasteel identification card with a photo taken while he was working at the terminal. He logged out and re-secured the server, then plucked his card out of the ID Printer. As the material left the dispenser, the door to the room flew open. He turned around casually and looked the security personnel.

"Whoever you are, stop what you're doing and stand down, now!" shouted their apparent leader.

"Stand down, sir. You have nothing to worry about from me." Sigma replied casually.

"Who do you think you are to give me orders!?"

"Your boss."

"I work for Mister Covenly!"

"And he works for me." Sigma finished, as he flashed the ID card lazily.

The security chief's helmet's visor scanned the card, and the heads-up display alerted to the high-profile identity of this individual, transferred all rights by authentic voice-command from Founder A. Rhoujen. The weapon that was gripped with vindication fell to one hand, which fell to his side, in complete disbelief. The security squad all stared in bewilderment, and Ash gave a half-chuckle and pushed past them.

"Now where is this Covenly?"

The path was simple enough. Follow the hall to the turbolift, then take it up the spire until you reach the top. Then deal with the secretary and gain entry to the Executive Office. From there, 'ex off' the standing CEO and cement the claim to Sudoka Industries. It was simple. It wasn't even the illusion of simplicity, because the only opposition he faced was the man and his secretary. He stripped off the armour and was left wearing a rather eccentric suit, but perhaps the insanity would serve him well. He slipped on some disposable white gloves and entered the turbolift. He tapped the button to take him to the top floor. Up he went. The elevator music was rather catchy, and Sigma tapped his foot to the digitalised tune until the lift opened and he stepped out. His boots clicked with a certain tempo as he strode across the polished floor to the secretary's desk. Before she spoke, he waves his new identification at her and she shut her mouth as soon as it opened. He hopped up the shallow steps to the glass door that led to the CEO's office, and it slid open with a hydraulic hiss. A background thought wondered if this idiot spent all of his company's revenue on this one office.

"What is it, I'm quite bus-" Eric Covenly stopped mid-sentence when he saw the visage of Rhoujen, "But you're dead!" he spat out before he could think better of it.

"Oh no, Rhou's very dead, but I'm not." Sigma said as casually as one would talk about the weather, displaying his card for the... uncounted time in the past hour or so.

Covenly's mouth flapped dumbly, trying to form words that wouldn't come. Ash lofted a brow and cleared his throat for attention. He tucked the card away into his pocket and took on a more professional stance and tone.

"Now, as primary stockholder, founder, et cetera of Sudoka Industries, I hereby relieve you of all duties and responsibilities as CEO and take that title for myself." Valente gave the now-Ex-CEO of Sudoka a moment to let that set in, then said "I believe you're in my chair."

Sigma sensed the rage. The anger. He knew them well by now, and as Covenly launched himself over the desk to lunge at the younger man, Ash sidestepped and added some extra force, slamming the poor soul into the wall. He waved to the secretary and motioned for her to call security. She pressed a button under her desk and the chief from earlier came in. Under new orders and directives, Eric Covenly was arrested for assault, and Sigma had his company back. The little part of him influenced by Rhoujen was happy, and that was good. He slipped into that seat and relaxed into it, taking in the moment for a minute or two, before he got onto the terminal and started typing away furiously. He had arrangements to remake, systems to restore, and in that instant all of the memories that he held from Rhoujen came surging back. There was a lot to do to get this company where it was supposed to be.

This was only the beginning.
