DESCRIPTION
The REC-SV/01 All-Terrain Scout Vehicle; Massiff Pattern was the newest vehicle produced and offered by the Republic Engineering Corporation. While the much larger, and considerably more well armed FAv would be a prospective client’s first choice when equipping their military. The Massiff Scout Vehicle offers a more… unique approach to deployment, and operation within the scope of a planetary battlefield. While many other vehicles of this classification, and archetype would focus on equipping a singular operator with enough weapons to harass an enemy’s flanks, the Massiff relies solely on its speed and mobility to win the day. Sure, the Scout Vehicle comes with an integrated brace of repeating blaster cannons, but when your enemies clad themselves in the most advanced armours and shielding technology known to the galaxy?

They might as well be nothing more than angry flashlights.

However, that’s where the capabilities to ferry a second passenger into battle comes into play. The integrated auxiliary railing and support structure allows for a passenger to accompany the primary operator into battle. As their attention isn’t focused solely on operating the vehicle, their hand, or hands, are free to utilize a plethora of shoulder-mounted weaponry and munitions. That meant the Scout Vehicle was capable of acting as a limited munition(s) variant of a mobile weapon’s platform - effectively capable of carrying on the fight so long as the armed passenger had enough ammunition.

Like their much larger cousin, the FC/24 FAv - the A-TSV was outfitted with twinned pairs of near-indestructible tyres. They were forged from a lusterless polycarbonate material that was further reinforced by a metallic lattice of carbon nanotubes that when combined made the method of propulsion nearly-immune to penetration and punctures. With that being said, however, there was a chance that the vehicle could still be immobilized or disabled in some fashion - as the connecting spars and driveshaft were partially exposed to enemy fire. While this could be amended, partially, by additional armour plating - the excess weight would render much of the vehicle’s speed and mobility null and void, making it considerably easier to pick off the operator, and their rider with snipers or concentrated firepower.

Nevertheless, the A-TSV Massif would be an interesting, and likely, invaluable addition to the armouries of Interstellar Nations and their respective militaries.
