Description: While the Oracle - Pattern Space Station proved to be successful in various star systems across the galaxy, there was an issue regarding affordability, as it was unfeasible to place dozens of stations within a solar cluster. So, the technical architects at the Republic Engineering Corporation sought to condense the massive space station into a smaller, and considerably more affordable frame. Thus, the REC/EWS-01 “Prophet” - Pattern Satellite was conceived and eventually brought into service sometime later.

The design team(s) achieved what they set out to do, but were forced to make some sacrifices along the way. A significant number of starship-grade systems that were present in the Oracle station(s) were ill-suited to a miniaturized frame. Therefore, those sensors and targeting computers were replaced with more suitable starfighter variants that would still be compatible with their larger cousins. With several of these satellites and an Oracle station on hand, a star system would be more than capable of monitoring their incoming, and outgoing transmissions through their link with the various buoys and beacons already established within that alternate dimension.

In addition to this, the Prophet - much like the Oracle - was capable of detecting hyperspace breaches and translations through dedicated cronau radiation sensors. While these sensors weren’t anything like the gemcutters they sought to emulate, they would be enough to detect a vessel coming out of hyperspace; alongside their localized astral position. It wouldn’t be enough to safeguard against their intrusion, but no matter how economical the dimensional translation, the defenders would know that hostile forces were present in their system.

With enough of these stations and satellites networked together, their sphere of technological influence was capable of spreading beyond the limits of a solar system and possibly encompassing an entire sector after that.

If knowledge were indeed the gateway to power, then such lofty heights it would be achieved through the combined efforts of the Prophet satellite(s) and the Oracle station(s.)
