Description: The REC/DLP-001 “Oracle” - Pattern Space Station was the first deep-space installation created by the Republic Engineering Corporation, and was primarily designed to act as a hybrid early warning station and listening post. As the Company’s first station, which was more of a renovation rather than a fully-fledged construction effort, was a resounding success their executive branch greenlighted the creation of a new department. This newly forged portion of the Corporation would become responsible for the creation, and production, of deep-space installations that would be utilized by their ever-growing consumer base. While many within this section desired to create dozens of fortress stations that would be deployed throughout the galaxy, it was believed that a hybrid logistic-based installation would be for the best. Besides, what better way to fully utilize a space fortress’ power, than by supplementing it with a swathe of accurate, real-time information.

Thus, the conceptual dream of the Oracle station became a reality. Equipped with highly-sensitive and specialized equipment; such as subspace antennas, full-spectrum and HoloNet transceivers, and a plethora of sensors (both long and short-ranged) the “Oracle” installation was perfectly suited to keep a wary eye on the stellar horizon. As one of it’s specialized sensors were tuned towards the detection of cronau radiation, the installation was capable of estimating the entry point of any ships entering a planetary system. However, that process would occur within seconds of a starship or battlegroup’s reversion; leaving the defenders with little time in which to react effectively. In addition, the “Oracle” was outfitted with a continuous uplink module that allowed the installation to tap into the HoloNet and Hyperspace Registrar beacons left in the alternate dimension of hyperspace. This connection permitted the station to detect when a flotilla of starships translated into hyperspace and took flight towards their home system; allowing those within marshal their defences.

Regarding the “Oracle’s” abilities as a listening post; the various connections to both conventional subspace and HoloNet channels would permit the station to sift through a plethora of incoming, and outgoing communications. Through the outfitted sensors and transceivers, it was possible for the installation to effectively snoop and review an entire star system’s worth of incoming and outgoing communications. While it wasn’t anywhere close to the capabilities of a dedicated listening post, the “Oracle” made up for this shortcoming by the inclusion of supplementary technologies. Although the station was capable of covering an entire system with its various sensor arrays, the station was unable to spread its abilities across the sector. As both a ploy to sell more stations and increase the efficacy of the variable detection grid(s,) the “Oracle” was outfitted with a powerful uplink antenna -- that would be capable of slaving auxiliary satellites, and stations to the cause.

With the “Oracle” deployed across the galaxy, it was possible for stellar nations to divine the future by reading through the transcripts and information collected in the present, and the past.
