Rebirth: Reuiniting with one's family

Standing with arms folded across his burly chest, Zander stared out the window of his newest home ascertained: Greyson Palace. A building that dwarfed his previous, to the point he now let the greater portion of the civillians nearby live for free. So much space it was ridiculous, as many rooms as the biggest mansions, high arches with beautiful intricate carvings lined his walls. Statues, artworks galore lined each space that could be found.

Basically if someone stole his deed they would become billionaires instantly, of the highest caliber.

But as said, his gaze, nor thoughts, were of his home or those within. They lay else where, on time past. He missed his family. Last he knew, his niece recieved his love, his sister embracing him warmly during every visit. Even Keter was a good addition to his family. But since his rebirth, with a form recognizable to his kin, he had pondered returning to them.

They had buried him however. Could that be forgotten or undone?

"Pexim, please call the pilot in. I wish to fly." Zander said. Soon enough he was in his old StealthX, flying into the atmosphere. Closing his eyes and becoming one with the Force, Zander let the energy guide his hands towards his destination. He knew not where she was, but he was going to his sister.

Feena herself was recovering. From what? From a long week of recovering. Honestly, it had been a giant waste of her time, this 'break', but her doctor had insisted. And now she had mountains of work to do. She had not yet returned to her proper place at the Confederacy capital. She was still on Imerria.

Felicity, thank goodness, had arrived back home safe and sound. Of course, the fact that Feena had to send for her at all from such a secure planet as Coruscant only told her what she feared knowing; nothing was safe anymore. If Coruscant could fall victim to the Sith, then nowhere was safe. Thankfully, they had the advantage of living on such a useless planet already. Imerria was hardly the cornerstone of existance, so if they ever did get visitors here, it was either accidental, or one of the few who actually knew of Feenas home.

little did Feena know that one such visitor was on his way now. Someone close to her. Someone whom she had already buried.

There! With his eyes shooting open, to accompany a huge grin, he punched the hyperdrive. Odd though that he sensed Felicity before Feena...

In a short matter of time, Zander stared down at Imerria. Finally a destination he had yet to be. Flipping switches while jamming other buttons, the Master Apprentice moved towards that wee power he sensed. The bubbly brightness that was his niece. As his descent continued, he pondered if Felicity had used any of the resources he left her upon his death. Had he believed his sister would, they would have been hers foremost, but Jedi blood made people to give up on personal effects.

Standing, with the accompanying sound of popping joints, he groaned. His weakened state made everything, including sensing loved ones, extremely difficult. By the amount of soreness, he believed he must have meditated for hours before locating them. But that slowed him little, climbing out and then moving to the rear of the ship, Zander slipped his arms through long sleeves belonging to an elegant jacket.

Smiling once at the reflective metal walls, he paused, the smile slowly leaving his face. Yes he looked so much the same, he could pass as a twin for Zaiden, but that didnt change the differences. Where as he was mid 30's when he first met them, the body he held now was roughly 20, and far more lithe. As well as the dark power that swirled in his eyes, combined with his elongated razor like fangs, all part of his previous host wishing to give him a gift - a gift of his own body, simply enhanced genetically with Vampire DNA. He hoped his family could ignore the evil appearance, to sense the good that dwelt within him now.

Sighing before turning on his heal, the man left his ship behind. Moving towards that power he sensed, he flared his own for the barest of seconds. This time he wouldnt knock. They would know he was here.

THe alert had reached his desk the moment the ship had entered the atmosphere. Not the planet's of course, they lacked the extensive arrays to make scanning such a vast region feasible. But it had penetrated the immediate airspace around Dis. Without even an incoming message. Keter sighed as he stood up. Celeste looked at him, curious. He smiled at his youngest daughter. "Uncle Barnabus will keep an eye on you. Daddy has to take care of something," he said. The little girl nodded and wraped her arms around his neck in a hug, which he returned before standing up. Barnabus was already entering the room, looking somewhat tired. Must have been recently excercising. Celeste smiled at the sight of her uncle, and rushed to hug his legs as Keter swept out of the room.

The current trajectory of the craft had it coming in to land just outside their little...home. Another scout? Maybe someone who was lost or needed help? It didn't seem like pirates or raiders. And if it was, they wouldn't have approached so brazenly. The blond had made it down to the courtyard before a familiar figure dashed across his sight, his force signature emanating from him like an aura. Keter came to a stop and just sighed as he recognised it. He couldn't even bring himself to be surprised anymore at anything after all the things he'd had to put up with. Ooh, Feena was going to be...partially pleased and partially annoyed. The blond's shoulders slumped as he called out.

"Back amongst the living so soon?"

Felicity sensed it immediately. She knew it was coming. She was a big girl, and she knew better than to believe that her Uncle was gone for good. It was like in Daddies stories. The good guys never died, or if they did, they never stayed that way for long. So she kept waiting, and waiting, knowing full well that one day, maybe not anytime soon, maybe years down the line, he would come back as all heroes did, fight the bad guy, rescue the innocent, and save the day.

And today was the day.

Mommy had sent for her on Coruscant without explaining why. But Felicity was a smart girl. She knew that if Mother had pulled her away from her education on such a short notice, then there must be something happening on Coruscant. After doing a little research of her own, she found out exactly what that reason was.

Sith.

Mommy said they were nothing to be afraid of. But the media seemed to say differently. All she had to go on were varied opinions on the subject, and that was hardly enough to base her own on. Either way, it did mean she got to spend more time at home again. She had so very much missed Uncle Barny, and Daddy, and Celeste, and all the rest of the family. She had even missed Mommy.
She still missed mommy. She spent most of the time that she wasn't working, sleeping. She slept so much now. And on the rare occasions that Felicity caught her awake, all she wanted to do was hug her. Why? It was weird, even for her Mother,

Two minutes until Uncle Zaidens arrival. Felicity was standing in front of her mirror, smoothing out her favorite dress. Black silk with a blue ribbon detail. Mommy didn't like it. It was what Felicity had worn to her Uncles funeral. It only seemed appropriate to wear it now.

One minute until his arrival. Felicity tied a black ribbon in her bouncy blond curls, just like the last doll Uncle Zaiden brought her, right before he 'died'. Would he notice?

"He's here," she whispered, looked at her reflection one more time, then bolted out the door yelling for all to hear, "He's back!"

With the echo of her words still ringing down the halls, she skidded to a stop right beside her Father, smiling.

Spying his brother, choosing to drop the in-law, Zander smiled and acknowledged the man, "Yep. Come on, who do you think could truly keep me dead?" And then there she was, the little one whom made him want to be someone good. Charging forward, Zander swooped his niece up and spun her around before pulling her into an extremely tight hug.

Realizing how hard it tugged against the young form, he relaxed his hold just a bit, looking down at her with tears evident in his eyes, "I missed you little one." His voice broke slightly, but he quickly wiped at the tears, letting the lithe form sit against his hip as he carried her, "Dont tell anyone about that. Not my fault I missed you." He murmured with a chuckle.

Glancing to Keter once more he grinned, "Lets go inside and greet my sister, shall we?"

"He's back!"

The squeal made Feena jerk awake at her desk, sitting bolt upright, hair stuck to her face. Back? Who? Why was her daughter squealing at the top of her lungs.

Groggily, Feena stood up from her desk, ran a hand through her hair to push her dark curls back into place. Something was... out of order. Something was simply not right. Ever since she fell ill, her senses had been dulled, but something familiar screamed at her from outside. Something impossible. Zaiden was dead.

With tiny, careful steps, she made her way down, concerned about what she might find at her door.

"Keter?" she asked carefully, "Who...?"

Seeing the one woman whom had never done him ill, the one person whom he looked to for comfort, Zander smiled so wide it hurt his cheeks, "Hey..." He called to her, "Wheres my hug?" Never releasing his hold on his niece, the man moved close and embraced his sister.

Holding her close for a long moment, he sighed happily. He was with his family again.

Keter opened his mouth to answer but the man had already swept past him to embrace Feena, leaving Keter standing there feeling a tad intrusive. He snapped his mouth shut and turned around to take in the sight of Zander, Feena, and Felicity making a very good impression of a picture perfect family. The blond grinned and shook his head. Honestly, the man played dead then reappeared just like that? The blond wondered whether he would have to administer minor first aid after Feena got through with Zander for putting her through his death. THen again maybe she would be forgiving.

But most importantly of all...Zander would prove an ally. He could commune with Feena in a way even Keter could not. Such was the power of siblings. With his help, maybe Feena would finally take a break, forget about the galaxy to focus on the family she had. Maybe recovering Zander would shock her into spending more time with them, remembering how she had lost one of their number. The blond smiled. Things were going to be different now. Or so he hoped.

The Eternal Queen
Before her brain could process what she was seeing, she was swept up into the arms of... someone impossible. Death was death. The end. There was no coming back. And yet her heart was telling her something very different.

Impossible. Impossible. Impossible. Impossible. Impossible...

The voice in her head repeated the word again and again, her heart awash with emotions that she never knew she had. Was she happy? Or was she angry? Neither? Both? She opened her mouth to say something, but her brain seemed to be frozen.

Impossible. Impossible. Impossible. Impossible.

She reached up reluctantly to return the embrace, but when her hand touched his shoulder, her body went completely limp.
Feena Mason, for the first time ever, actually fainted.

Doing the first thing to come to mind, Zander reached out with his mind and free arm to catch his unconscious sister. The strain on his mind was harsh, as this body was untrained, letting a trickle of blood loose from his left nostril. Moving closer, he held her to his body. Releasing his niece he smiled down at her, "Can you get the door sweetheart?"

Looking to Keter he arched a brow, "Never seen this before...Ah well. It's better for her. Now she has time to avoid me grilling her for giving away my nieces belongings (just found out about givin away Felicitys ship GRRR lol)." Lifting the lithe form as simply as he would her daughter, he made way towards the door. It was then he felt the warm sticky substance against his lip, and the weakness brought from the exertion. Were he not now physically more capable, he could have dropped her.

When they finally were inside, Zander set his loving sister delicately on the nearest couch.

Keter would have rolled his eyes if he could have. Instead, he just settled on shaking his head as he followed Zander into what amounted for an entrance lobby just off the courtyard, taking a seat by his wife, absently holding her hand as the dead man stood over them, Felicity clinging to him. "Well, I kept out of it. She was your next of kin. I felt it right to defer all judgements to her," the blond explained, feeling somewhat awkward. "So...how's being dead working out for you?"

[member="Zander"]

Felciity squealed with delight as her dear Uncle lifted her up then clung to him like he might disappear again. She didn't notice his tears. She was too happy to notice.

"Keter? Who...?"

Felicity froze when she heard the voice of her mother. This would be... interesting. Mother had believed Uncle Zaiden was gone for good. She didn't know as much as Felicity did. Mommy was smart, she read lots of books, but Felicity just knew without needing the evidence.

As her Uncle went forward to embrace her Mother, Felicity tensed up. She knew this much as well; Her mother would not take this well. Not at all.

As she went limp, Felciity winced and climbed down as instructed.
No. She didn't take this well.

"-Now she has time to avoid me grilling her for giving away my nieces belongings."

"What was I going to do with a ship at my age anyways, Uncle Zaiden?" the child retorted as if this were the most obvious thing in the world, "I'm only seven."

She watched as her mother was set down on the couch. Even if Felicity had expected her Mother to overreact, she hadn't expected this.

Zander chuckled, "Pretty nice. And that wasnt the point Felicity. They were gifts to you little one. You dont give away gifts from family." Concentrating for a second, Zander conjured his telepathic voice, Feena, wake up. Though the voice was weak, it would indeed reach the womans subconscious, as this was something his prior knoweledge held much experience in.

Releasing his breath, he turned to his niece once more, "Im not really angry, or anything like that. It was just a tease."

Wake up, she heard the impossible voice say.

No. No. You can't make me. I want to stay as I am. I don't want to face impossible things. I want-

Her eyelids fluttered open, resting squarely on the impossible man with the impossible voice. She almost let herself smile for a split second, then she remembered why this man was impossible. At once, her hand flew to slap the impossible man across his impossible face.

"How dare you be alive?" she hissed, "You should be ashamed! Dying without my permission! Putting me through all that, and then... and then..."

Oh, she was ready to give the impossible man an impossibly stern talking to.

Zander let his jaw drop, the blow catching him off gaurd. That quickly shifted to a sheepish grin, rubbing the back of his head, "Hey, you think I planned that? All of the Darkness in my life caught up to me and broke me mentally. I was left impossibly wounded, and no longer in control of my actions. I thank the Gods that it ended as peacefully as it did." Gesturing with his eyes towards Felicity to let Feena know that was a story for later, "The point is im back. I missed my...not so little sister no more. I hate this new body. I look to young! I was holocard'ed at the cantina last night!"

The big brother, was not so big no more. He wasnt used to that foremost.

Keter stood silently as he let nature run it's course. Feena would demand quite the explanation from Zander, one he would provide, and then things would settle into something resembling calm. The blond wasn't sure Felcity should see this little familial dispute, but he trusted Feena to control herself enough for her daughter's sake. This seemed like a much more initmate family matter than he had a right to see, so he rested a gentle hand on Feena's shoulder as he spoke. "I'll go get drinks," he offered before retreating from the impossible reunion. Best give them some space to work things out.

Little... brother? That wasn't right. Feena unconsciously plucked at a lock of hair, touching each strand to check for silver, finding a stray grey hair and pulling it out. As if she needed the reminder that she wasn't that young anymore!
The gentle touch on her shoulder by her husband did nothing to help her calm, but it did help her realize Felicity was present. She took a deep breath, sat up straight and glared at her Brother.

"Oh you poor thing," she snapped back, sarcastically as ever, "How awful to be young and handsome again."

[member="Keter"] [member="Zander"]

Biting his lip, Zander attempted to stifle his out right laughter, "Why sister, those of the Greysons are always the most beautiful. Dont fret, just get yourself an alchemist." He said with a chuckle. As he spoke, Zander reached into his pocket and drew forth yet another gift as always, for his little niece, "This little beauty, is a custom hand made doll, from Andoliths among Tera Lush. Dont worry if you dont know of them, they were just recently discovered.

"Run along and play with her while mom and I talk." Zander watched as the little girl left, then he turned and smiled at his sister, "Truly. You look fantastic sister. But alas, flattery is all to much fun. Instead, I wonder sister, would you help me train some? Maybe yourself Keter?

"If not, maybe a drink and sit outside? There is always much to tell, Im sure."

THe blond did not want to imagine what was going on between the two Greysons as he entered the canteen. It felt desolate amd empty. It was too big for their family, having been designed to hold elements from the Clone army Keter had once had. They were all gone now, along with the droids he had scavanged and built. Only a few of the maintenance droids were still around, and they hardly needed a kitchen. The blond sighed as he fetched a trio of glasses then set to hunting down some wine. Maybe somehting red? This was an occasion to celebrate after all, the return of a family member.

Alright, so Keter had never quite felt as if Zander was family, but that was his problem. He simply did not know the man, hadn't spent any time with him to feel any kind of connection. Then again, being in-laws, maybe that was the point. It was all so confusing, and Keter kept that confusion off his features wth practiced ease as he found a suitable drink. A red wine from Naboo. Yes, this would do nicely. Possibly help Feena calm down from her cold anger too.
