Rebellion Rules

Has anyone contacted the OS on this, if this is still a thing, to pave the way for a story to set this up? It seems pretty flimsy to just 'Oops, Rebellion because Reasons... #MapGame'... I mean, if they balk and are too rude or unwelcoming that is a another issue.

Long story short, i'd be interested to see a Rebellion. And I think this Faction is uniquely placed to coherently and sensically make a good story with this. But on this proposition I don't see a planet, story, or anything outlined or detailed. So...

  1. Is this still a thing we all here want to do?
  2. Is this being brought to the OS so we can all, Underground & OS, get a good story out of this?
  3. If the first two are met, what are we thinking of for a planet? What is valid per the rules? They made some clarifications since originally posting them that could change this.
  4. Related to #3, if we have planets in mind... What's the drive or plot behind the choice?

Obviously Ijaat will not be my face for this, but I have a new character I'd love to get involved in this faction and this story, and I think he'd fit into such a story line, so i'm interested. He just needs approval to join the faction, so I posted under Ijaat.

If we, as a group, want to do this, I'd be happy to ping the OS.. I've had good luck with them via some other plots.. And their Admins are typically amiable if you have a good story and are willing to flex. And if they aren't we can go from there.

My suggestions? We start with a skirmish, up to a total of three skirmishes and/or raids. One side can pick one and the other side another if we want two tussles to lead to this, or we can both negotiate for one singular target to lead into the Rebellion. If it's one singular Skirmish, I'd suggest it be on the planet we intend to launch the Rebellion on.

If we desire a third Skirmish or Raid, if one side has won both the prior skirmishes, the side with less 'wins' picks the final bout. If it is a tie, we grow up as adults and discuss it together. Simple enough, and I find when negotiating these things, leaving such flexibility but having a plan in mind from the start helps smooth things.

So... Rebellion Time?

Seems a little too complicated. On this site, people would lose interest after the first skirmish.

Counter-Proposal:

Wait until OS push a dominion past 150 and then pounce.

EDITED: Not worth it.

It can be complex. I am telling you what I've saw the last 6 months in trying to get things going with the OS from the GA side, specifically with Corellia. They ask for things like this. True, they can't deny a Skirmish or Rebellion or Invasion per the rules. But they can utterly ignore it and not participate in it if it's not to their liking. Particularly if it is 'Random Planet X' that they just conquered, I don't see them up in arms over loosing it. But, given how many plots with them failed unless orchestrated by members in both factions, maybe a little forcefulness will help.

Don't get me wrong, the only thing or part of that idea that comes from me wanting to do it? Is letting them know our plan for such events to occur. Don't even have to name a target. Because doing otherwise is just a dick move in my opinion. The rest of it is just what I've seen them wanting lately. Though, they're on their like... Fourth of Fifth Admin team since Christmas or something, so... Who knows at this point.

My main wants are a good story (not just a random blip on the map) and giving them some sort of notice... Even if we wait until after they hit 150 and it's just 'In X Days we're hitting a Rebellion on Planet Y' that is more than enough.

Hopefully that clears up confusion, since the initial reaction to my idea was to just dismiss it entirely.

If they ignore it or don't participate, then they lose a whole hex.

I think you might be making this overly complicated. It's as simple as a two paragraph write-up on why the Underground is there/what it's doing and then one or two objectives that can be as bland as three letters. "PvP."

The goal is to spike activity. Active writers engaged in PvP typically bring about cool stories of their own anyway.

TL;DR

OOC leads to stalling. Just do it™
