Rebel Skies: Assault on Jackdaw Station

Location: Just South of Nal Hutta

Jackdaw station. It was a major thorn in her side. The problem with Jackdaw was that it was a haven for Pirates. Pirates Hala could stomach but these ones were of the savage variety. They'd been responsible for so many dropped shipments and lost runs she couldn't even count on her fingers and toes.

Someone had an inkling and decided to do something about it. They'd assembled an assault team of disgruntled Smugglers, Criminals and Freelancers alike. It had gone out all over the Underground, a thousand creds for a Pirates head, and whatever else they could find. It seemed odd a former Pirate attacking Pirates but here she was.

She had a small crew aboard her CR-90 the Crimson Dragon, all armed to the teeth with their choice of weapons. She herself packed two Scatter guns, and a Disruptor rifle strapped to her back. From the bridge she looked out through the viewports at the rag tag armada of Underworld folks, Axeheads, Action IV's and more.

The station in question was a giant wheel shaped monster, complete with all manner of scraggly ships and boats docked on her. Scum the lot of them. Just her type.

"All systems optimal Cap'n."

"Great, go ahead and hang back, let's see what the other guys do first."

After all what’s the point of losing my head in the mess.

"Wait hold on, we got incoming!"

"All vessels all vessels, they're launching countermeasures!"

"No kark, thanks for that," Hala spat, grabbing the railing. Explosions blossomed in and around the station, missiles launching and mining lasers blasting solid beams across the void. Two of their bretheren vanished in a puff of fire and crystallized liquid.

"Press press press! Let's get in there!"

"Keep back!" Hala roared.

"Aye Cap'n."

"Let me get a pulse scan, find us an opening!"

Acaleus was an assassin. Was good at stealth and a hell of a thief. That gave him a lot of free movement around the enemy lines. Just after he put the second bomb on the engine room he was good to go. His way was plagued of corpses of almost every species that could be intelligent enough to get hired to the Jackdaw Station. He had the advantage after a swift movement with his wrist lightsaber and a use of his force "Venus, come pick me up. Going to be outside the ship" with his brand new suit, he could be in outer space for minutes without any danger "All troops, engage!"

Ardgal secured his helmet with a hiss-fizz. He looked across the Annihilator-class Boarding Shuttle, bearing fifty of his four hundred Alpha Company Commandos. The others were in tow as well, in the other shuttles. As the fight outside was beginning with the pepper of blaster and turbo laser fire, he was sliding in with his soldiers the old fashioned way--with state-of-the-art Stealth Tech. The shuttles twisted around, sliding along the skits of the battle field. They were careful to avoid the worst of it. As they drew closer to the LZ, the Alpha Company soldiers made last minute checks on their gear. Ammo counts, weapon checks, armor check, gear check. At last the ships glided in close to the Jackdaw station's side.

The plasma cutters coiled into position form the Boarding shuttles, cutting holes into the side of the station. The durasteel plating finally buckled, the general kicked it backwards, clattering down across the floor loudly. The Mandalorian warriors stormed into the hall, blasters screaming through the air with pin-point precision. The general pulled his disruptor rifle from his back and began targeting the enemy around him, sending them into the unlife with each shot.

Ruby was flying around when he saw a battle going on outside, from the markings on the ships he could detect it was a pirate vs someone battle. When he got closer he saw some people in the viewports. "Must be a battle, I pick that side." Ruby was talking to no one but himself as he pointed at the non-pirate team. "I don't like Pirates one bit" Ruby must have not been thinking that day because he just tried to board the main ship which could have idiots that would shoot right away. When he got in some soldiers were about to blast.

"WAIT! I need to speak to your leader." Ruby shouted, after some reasoning he got escorted up to where their captain was.

"We found this guy boarding our ship." The soldiers said, they then pushed Ruby forward with their blasters.

"Hello, I'd like to fight beside you, I've got some beef with the pirates and I'd like to kill them as well. You guys can also have the heads." Ruby didn't know why he needed to go up here instead of just fighting but he thinks it's because he wants to meet who he's working with.

The fighting was intensifying at a rapid pace. More vessels poured in from all sides bombarding the stations shields and hatchways, blowing airlocks wide open, and destroying weapons emplacements. Hala still stood with her arms folded watching the action unfold on the main tac screen. she couldn't bring the Crimson Dragon into the middle of this, it was a smuggling vessel not a frigate.

"How are my scans going?" She asked, reading each tid bit of information as it scrolled by on the holoprojector.

"We got opening all over but the stations pouring out heavy fire! We got, hold on!"

Another round slammed their shields, exploding across the blue watery layer and causing alarms to go off. Whatever it was was enough to take down the whole system.

"Shields are out!"

"Eta to recharge?"

"Not long enough, we gotta wave off!"

"Belay that, all hands to assault stations, Helm take us straight in full speed!"

"Where to Cap'n?"

Hala glanced over the screens again and found what she was looking for, her opening and it was relatively undefended.

"The bottom airlock, looks like it's unguarded."

Another round sailed past grazing the hull. Shattered steel plating spiralled away as the vessel rocked, taking a breach in the hull. It was slight, but enough to quickly start venting air. And that was bad.

"Engines full, damage control get on it!"

She wasn't going into the dark night that easy. And by her reckoning they had Gauss cannons which meant the CR-90 needed to get out of their firing solution asap.

"Diving!"

Acaleus pressed a buttom and something ecchoed inside the ship. The motors stopped working and the station drifted in the space "Fighters, engage on the cannons. Attack team, descend on the hangars doors and take the ship" Acaleus needed to lower the quantity of pirates in Nar Shadda. Not because of any hate he had against them, it was just bussiness as usual and those bastards kidnapped a couple of caravans from his company.

"Alright Venus status update" said entering the hangar bay with his submachine gun and firing "Fighters 1 and 2 cannot help you, they are keeping the enemies away from the CR-90. The boarding team is a minute to your position"

Those who stood against the alpha company were cut down in a hail of fire.

"Landing zone secure," one of the sargents reported in Ardgal's earpeice.

"Gather the bodies," Ardgal ordered. "Stack them. We get paid per head, remember that."

Collecting the corpses was a quick task for the two hundred soldiers with Ardgal.

"Red team, hold this position until relieve," Ardgal ordered a quarter of his men as he reloaded his rifle. "Everyone else on me. We are going to take command. They can't keep the defence up without control. Proceed with caution. This is hostile Territory."

The commandos followed their general through the halls. As they came to the elevators they came across a heavy patch of resistance. The pirates had dug in for a makeshift last stand. The fire fight rang through the halls as blaster bolts and slugs screamed through the air.

True grit belied many a space cowboy. And it took a lot of nads to fly right through the center of a raging battle t get what you wanted, but Hala was a woman who generally got what she wanted. Consequences be damned.

The CR-90 Concitnued taking hits on her flanks as she dove. At the helm she was resolute, monitoring with a furrowed brow. Chunks of armor flew away sliced like butter from their flanks and rounds penetrated the craft, smashing bulkheads and destroying circuit boxes. Fire had sprung up in some compartments under the brutal beating.

"How close are we!"

"Getting too close Cap'n!"

"Frak take her in!"

"All the way!"

"Yes, dump her right in the bay!"

And dump the Crimson Dragon did. Coming in full speed it blasted past the deflector shields and onto the deck of a lower hangar bay. The belly made contact with the floor screeching as metal wrenched metal. Small fighter craft were crushed under their enormous bulk, and bodies flew everywhere.

"Brace!"

The wall rocked from the impact of the nose. Bulkheads were smashed through, going clear into hallways and beyond. They were moving like a giant missile towards the heart of the station, obliterating multiple layers of steel as they went, burning and scorching anything behind them into a inferno with engines still at full.

"Don’t cut the power, just keep her straight!"

"Hull integrity is buckling! We're gonna lose her!"

"That's my plan Draxel, use this hunk of junk as a battering ram to smash all the way to control room! Besides there always another ship. I want this station."

There was a battlefield on the hangar bay. Acaleus men were advancing while the assassin slashed away the pirates. The smell of burned meat filled his nose in a moment, the sound of the last breath, screams or the blaster being shot was deafining for a rookie. Not for him. In a moment, the floor tremble and a ship passed through the hangar floor into the lines...of his men, killing at least half of them while dissapearing into the walls, leaving a trace of destruction

"IDIOT YOU JUST KILLED A LOT OF MY SOLDIERS!" he was mad, but only as an act. A dead mercenary didnt charge money, but now the problem was that the difficulty of the task was now higher. With less than half of his troops, he retreat towards the interior of the ship, try using the alleys as help.In a rush count of his soldiers, he noticed there were only less than a dozen left "Venus, i will need reinforcement now!" a bolt stomp on the ceiling, leaving them in the dark. The battle began once more, and the only light was the bolts passing through the air

Acaleus began using force shields as cover for his troops but it was a lot of pressure to keep up "Venus!" "Yeah yeah, hey there this kid [member="Ruby Senri"] . Said he will help us. Tell him that he can grab one of my Hammerhead Gunship, but i need help in the hangar bay

Once Ruby got permission to attack, which took way too long in his opinion, he blasted off in his X-Wing charging JackDaw Station. Ruby was shooting and dodging and finally boarded the station. Ruby boarded and activated his dark-saber. Ruby started taking out some soldiers that started charging him.

Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Empty gas canister. Thumb the release. Pop in a fresh canister. Bang. Bang. Bang.

Pin point precision carved through the prates holding their position at the elevator. It was a valiant effort--for pirates anyway. The general held no love for them, though he did not exceptionally hate them. There were those he hated more; Sith, terrorists, and guerrilla goons who hid behind civilians while claiming to be heroes to name a few. At least pirates provided him a job. Suddenly the ground began to tremble and shake. The make shift barricades collapsed or at least what was left of them. Men struggled to maintain their standing--some in Alpha Company took the chance to deliver a final strike to their foes.

"What is that? I need intel," Ardgal shouted, he rarely raised his voice but now was an exception.

"Sir, a ship made impact with the Hot zone."

"They what?" bits of debris began to fall all around him.

"It looks like they are trying to punch through it, they are a few levels over your position, sir."

He squinted and mouthed what the mother--"Good copy, Intel. I will radio in when we are ready for extraction. Standby."

He looked over his men, where they going to be safe? He had confidence in their skills. They were like family to him. It was all a matter of making sure they each got home safely.

"Sir, the bodies have been gathered, and the elevator is out, it looks like whatever did that tore that thing out of commission," reported one of the officers named Virgil.

"Looks like its the stairs for us." Ardgal grimaced from behind his helmet, it was so dangerous, "Leave us some soldiers here to guard, we are going up and in."

"Yes, sir."

Lights began to flicker around them, bits of the ceiling and walls collapsed as Ardgal started to lead his men upward, charging up the stairs. He hoped the Star of Fortune was shining today, otherwise they would have to do this the hardest way--zero g repelling.
