SPECIAL FEATURES

  • HUD: Comes equipped with a Heads Up Display that keeps track of ammunition, grenades, and squad mates, showing a green outline through walls of allied squad mates.
  • Duraweave Shield: The Duraweave that covers the armor gives of a weak shield, able to take 4-5 direct hits before needing to recharge.

Strengths:
  • Duraweave Layer: The layer of duraweave overtop of the Duraplast gives extraordinary extra protection that few other medium armors can match.
Weaknesses:

  • Non-Environmentally Friendly: The suit was not built to survive rough environments which are too hot, too cold, or toxic, thus limiting its combat capabilities.
  • Batteries Needed: The Duraweave must be recharged every three or so days to keep the shield active.
  • Obvious: The glowing lines that make up the power conduits giving energy to the Duraweave make the armor easy to notice and difficult to conceal.

DESCRIPTION

With the design of the Apocrypha class light armor, APEX continued its developments with new more efficient forms of armor. Attempts with durasteel didn't work, seeing as the idea was to design relatively light armor. And so the company moved on to Duraplast, a lighter but durable plastic. The first experiments were a success, and soon duraweave was added onto the initial design giving it the distinguishable "APEX" look that the Apocrypha armor had.

The first suits were tested within APEX Arch-Laboratories, the headquarters for APEX, and were tested in front of Brae, who very much liked the idea and the signature look her company was developing. Soon her armors would be across the galaxy due to their extraordinary defensive capabilites.
