Yes, it is true that the Coruscant Security Force has access to many a resources for fending off and investigating crime within the bowels of Coruscant. However, it isn't always easy, especially for an Officer. A Drone capable of tracking criminals keeps the Officers out of harms way, and it's defensive capabilities allow for fire support for an Officer under fire.
The Drone itself is small in both height and width yet carries it's fair share of ordinance. Including Anti-Personnel and Anti-Vehicular Rockets for when a suitable time arises. A Blaster Cannon hides within the Drone, extending via a hatch beneath the RCD-01(Is not present within the provided image). The Drone's ability to see, scan, and hear operates through a central eye on the front center of the Drone.
