Description:
When it comes to land combat there are few options out there for the general and budding dictator to choose from. Sure, there are private armies, few and far between, or there is the occasional highly over powered rogue gun, but these can only go so far. For real support and control, you need real soldiers on the ground to do do the job. That is the Purpose of the Raxis Light Calvary.

In a galaxy predominated with the "hit heavy, go slow" mentality, its hard to imagine why any logical warrior would want light cavalry. The answer is simple; for each tactic there is a need for a distinct too. First, tanks move very slowly and are rediculously cumbersome (not to mention expensive). Yes, their armor and weaponry more than makes up for it, but again, at high monetary cost. Then there is the mental side of things; if someone rolls a tank into a city there is the "oh, hey look its a tank, we got a dictator here," civilians rarely appreciate being oppressed. However, 100 men on speeder bikes with assault rifles send a different message--or at least to a different extreme.

Members of the Raxis Light Cavalry (RLC) are more than just men and women on assault speeder bikes. Of course they are well trained pilots, good shots, and trained when it comes to melee combat, however, they have special skills. RLC soldiers are trained in the art of overland travel; learning how to rapidly map out the fastest way to a destination and reroute on the go, or the stealthiest way. Think of them as "super taxi drivers" in that regard. But they are also well trained in the arts of observation. Tell them when and where to be with what to look for--they will make it happen. And, of course, these soldiers are trained to work well in a team and in concert with whatever their commanding officer tells them to.

When the scouting is over, and it comes time to actually sweep through your enemy, well RLC is ready for that too. Their RA-SB speeders designed by the Imperium Iron work's @Joran Gareth comes with two Hellcaster cannons designed to chew through personnel and (according to the wiki) with prolonged assault is strong enough to shred duracrete barriers. Take 100 of those speeders acting together, swinging around for multiple attacks from multiple fronts and that is enough to demoralize all but the sharpest of the sharp. Of course, a unit or two of the RLC alone isn't enough to win any battle, but you get the idea.

As no military unit is perfect, this one comes with its own Achilles Heels. First, members of the RLC wear light armor. While this is good against glancing shots and non-military weapons (such as .22 slug throwers and such) and adds a level of mobility and speed, its pretty flimsy against direct hits. Second, everyone's gotta refuel eventually when your flying a vessel. RLC units have to be mindful of their fuel more than most, the last thing you want is a light cavalry unit minus the cavalry. In addition, while these RLC members are good at what they do, they are also "substandard" in melee combat for military units. They would be able to hold their own against most civilians, but when it comes to fisticuffs with other military units (say, a grunt, a sniper or such), they would most likely lose the fight.

As all RMIA mercenary units go, the members of the RLC are able to undergo a moderate amount of modularity per the owner's request; uniforms may be changed, armor and weapons within the rating range may be swapped out for the employer's desires. As such, it may be a good idea for select buyers to make their own sub with a unique name and such, using this as a model for their own artistic specification.
