SPECIAL FEATURES
Strengths:
  • Blaster Resistance: The betaplast and armorweave materials provide substantial defense against most forms of plasma, energy, and heat-based weaponry.
  • Kinetic Resistance: Betaplast and thermal gel also significantly bolster a wearer's ability to withstand common forms of physical abuse. Being slammed into a cliff side exploring old ruins, or taking a physical blow are just a few of the practical applications.
  • Lightsaber Resistance: What aspiring apprentice would go without some phrik chains or plates, and armorweave underlay for protection against a Sith's or Jedi's favorite weapon?
  • Toxin/Poison Resistance: While light weight, many materials used in the armor's construction are more than dense enough to defend against exposure to many forms of gaseous or liquid toxins or poisons. The sealable helmet also helps prevent inhalation of gaseous forms allowing its wearer to brave perilous locations.
  • Radiation Resistance: While unlikely to explore many highly radioactive locations, it never hurts to have a good layer of chromium to weather unforeseen dangers. A clear coat of UV protection also helps suffer prolonged exposure to the sun or suns.
  • Cold Resistance: Whether on an icy tundra or suddenly exposed to the vacuum of space (limited EVA exposure), a temperature regulator extending throughout the suit will help keep the sensation in the wearer's limbs. Just make sure not to run out of oxygen, or get buried in an avalanche.
Weaknesses:
  • EMP/ION Vulnerable: While the wearer may not be necessarily be harmed, the various components of the suit could be impaired or rendered inoperable and may expose the wearer to additional environmental hazards (e.g. loss of the temperature regulator, magnetic soles, advanced features of the Minerva HUD).
  • Acid Vulnerable: Due to the light weight construction and flexibility in how the suit was constructed there are various places acid could seep its way toward and begin degrading the armor's integrity and then harm its wearer.
  • Sonic Vulnerable: Likewise, the multiple layers of light weight material provide considerable protection against physical attack, but leaves the wear more susceptible to weaponry based on vibration.
DESCRIPTION
As an Explorer the ability to get in and out of hazardous environments was of paramount concern. Unsurprisingly, as a Sith Apprentice that remains as true today as it did then, only now there are more and increasingly perilous dangers. Raven Ashe sought to have an armor built to provide protection in both fields familiar and strange. One that would allow her to enter in battle wherever and whenever it became necessary -- whether on barren plains, or in the depths of ancient tombs.

Less frequent environmental or battle conditions -- such as electromagnetic pulses, acid pits, and high intensity sonic discharges -- are known and accepted trade offs in favor of defending against far more common threats faced by Raven. Colliding with a rock face or wall while climbing, getting into a fire fight, and even clashing sabers with the philosophically incompatible are all far more likely to be faced in everyday life or on missions. Eventually the various gear may also be suitable for a certain amount of reconnaissance, theft, and even assassination within urban environments. Further enhancement of the suit may be necessary in the future for specialized tasks.
