PERSONALITY
Rathir tends to exist at two very different speeds. Around people he feels wanted by, he is energetic, eager to participate and openly happy. He laughs easily, volunteers readily, remembers small details and has a habit of involving himself in the interests of people he likes. Relationships come quickly to him, sometimes considerably quicker than they do to the other person.
- WITH PEOPLE
-
Rathir is attentive to where people are going, when they expect to return and whether there is some way he can help. He can stand closer than expected, stare intently while listening, follow someone from one activity to another and become protective before a relationship has necessarily reached the same significance for both people.
He rarely intends any of it as intrusion. Much of it comes from a genuine desire to be involved, useful and close to the people he cares about.
- WHEN ALONE
-
Alone, much of that energy disappears. Rathir has few hobbies or interests that feel entirely his own, having spent much of his adolescence focused on survival and later on forming connections with others.
Empty hours tend to be filled by pacing, training, cleaning his lightsaber, reorganising belongings or finding unnecessary work to occupy himself. Sometimes he simply becomes very still. Other people give his attention somewhere to go; without them, it has a tendency to turn inward instead.
- ATTACHMENT & BELONGING
-
Rathir forms relationships quickly and does not always recognise when the other person has reached a different level of closeness than he has. He can become protective early, remember small details someone mentioned only once, or begin treating their routines and interests as important simply because they belong to someone he likes.
Years without his clan have also left him with a tendency to equate usefulness with belonging. If he can help, remain loyal or make himself part of somebody's life, there is a part of him that assumes they will have more reason to keep him there.
The Jedi have begun challenging that instinct. Rathir is slowly learning that closeness does not need to be earned through usefulness, and that caring about someone does not give him ownership over their choices.
- FIRRERREO INSTINCTS
-
Years spent without his clan left many Firrerreo social instincts largely untempered. Rathir can react sharply to sudden movement, crowd personal space without recognising it, display his canines freely when pleased or irritated, and run hot when defensive or protective.
His expressions can also change quickly. Around people he trusts he is animated and physically expressive, while genuine discomfort or anger can make him abruptly still.
The Jedi have begun teaching him patience and control, though not always in the same ways another Firrerreo might have.
- THE LIVING FORCE
-
When Rathir feels accepted, much of his tension disappears. He is capable of uncomplicated enthusiasm, broad canine grins and genuine happiness simply from being included.
Those moments have contributed strongly to his affinity for the Living Force. Rathir understands the immediate world more naturally than distant possibilities, and being present with people he trusts is one of the few circumstances in which the past can feel genuinely far away.
APPEARANCE
Rathir is a young Firrerreo with warm golden skin, striking blue eyes and tousled black hair broken by prominent natural streaks of silver. His build is lean and athletic rather than bulky, giving little immediate indication of the considerable strength typical of his species. Pronounced canines become particularly obvious when he smiles, while protective nictitating membranes occasionally pass across his eyes in response to bright light, debris or sudden movement.
His posture can vary considerably with his mood. Around people he trusts, Rathir tends to be animated and physically expressive. Discomfort, anger or intense concentration can make him abruptly still, while strong fear or anger can cause the golden tone of his skin to take on the distinctive silver colouration associated with his species.
Rathir typically wears practical beige and brown Jedi robes with dark leather boots, bracers and a utility belt. Around his neck hangs the canine of a deceased grandparent, given to him when he was very young as a family good-luck token.
HISTORY
Rathir was separated from his Firrerreo clan during the evacuation of Anaxes at ten years old. Four years spent waiting for them on Denon shaped much of the person he became before a Jedi finally convinced him that leaving did not have to mean abandoning the possibility that his family might someday return.
- I. ANAXES -- THE STONE
-
Rathir spent his early childhood on Anaxes among his Firrerreo family and clan. Though living far from the species' ancestral homeworld, his family retained many of its older customs, including the guarded importance placed upon personal names and clan identity. His earliest years were spent surrounded by family, and while still very young he was given the canine of a deceased grandparent as a small token of luck and remembrance.
That life ended during the Core Wars.
Rathir was ten when the fighting and instability surrounding Anaxes forced his family into an emergency evacuation alongside thousands of others. Somewhere within the crush of people moving through the evacuation system, Rathir dropped a small carved stone token.
He stopped to retrieve it.
By the time he stood again, the crowd had closed between him and his family. Rathir could still see them and hear them calling for him as people were pushed onward toward different transports, but neither side could overcome the flow of the evacuation.
Eventually, they disappeared from sight.
Rathir never saw them again.
The stone remained in his hand.
He still has it.
He does not cherish it.
- II. DENON -- WAITING
-
The transport carrying Rathir eventually reached Denon. When authorities attempted to identify the unaccompanied child, however, Rathir refused to provide the names and clan information his parents had taught him never to surrender to outsiders. At ten years old, frightened and alone, obeying that rule made more sense than understanding the systems which might otherwise have helped reconnect him with his family.
He remained near the districts through which displaced people had arrived, convinced that moving elsewhere would only make him harder to find if his family came looking.
The following years were spent largely around Denon's streets and transit districts. Temporary shelters, small kindnesses and periods of relative stability came and went. For a time, a local shopkeeper gave Rathir food, simple work and somewhere familiar to return to. Criminal pressure eventually forced her from the district, and one day the shop was simply gone.
Later, Rathir fell in with a small street crew. The group offered food, companionship and the sense of belonging he had spent years trying to replace. During a break-in, Rathir heard the high-frequency tone of an alarm the others had missed and attempted to warn them. He was dismissed.
When security arrived shortly afterward, the newest member of the group was pushed toward them while the others escaped.
Rathir escaped as well.
Afterward, however, his distinctive golden skin and black-and-silver hair became liabilities. He began covering himself beneath old clothing and a ragged blanket, avoiding security patrols and drawing as little attention as possible.
- III. SOMEONE CAME BACK
-
A Jedi eventually began passing through the district.
The first time, nothing happened.
The second time, the Jedi left a credit near Rathir without forcing an interaction. Rathir remembered the figure nonetheless, along with the faint smell of scorched fabric and ozone that lingered on their clothing.
On a later encounter, the Jedi finally approached him. An attempt to calm the guarded teenager through the Force provoked an immediate response: Rathir's mind closed instinctively against the contact, an untrained defensive reaction strong enough to surprise them.
The Jedi apologised.
More importantly, they left--
--and then came back.
Again.
Rathir had spent years remaining in one place because he believed leaving meant abandoning the possibility that his family might return for him. The Jedi did not promise to find them, nor ask him to stop caring. Instead, they offered him a way to move forward without closing that door entirely.
At fifteen, Rathir finally left Denon.
- IV. NABOO -- THE JEDI
-
His arrival at the Jedi Temple on Naboo marked the beginning of a life unlike anything Rathir had known since Anaxes.
Rathir has spent the following year as a Jedi Initiate. He took readily to the physical elements of training, particularly lightsaber instruction, movement exercises and practical applications of the Force. Other aspects have proven considerably less comfortable.
Meditation remains difficult. Extended stillness and introspection give Rathir very little to direct his attention toward except memories and thoughts he has spent years avoiding, while deliberate attempts at foresight come far less naturally than reacting to the immediate world around him.
The Living Force has consequently become the aspect of Jedi philosophy that feels most familiar. Rathir understands what is happening around him more readily than distant possibilities, and when surrounded by people he trusts, involved in what they are doing and allowed simply to exist in the moment, there are times when the past seems very far away.
Those are usually his happiest moments.

JEDI STATUS
FACTION: The High Republic
RANK: Jedi Initiate
MASTER: None
FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes
FORCE ABILITIES
NATURAL APTITUDE
Immediate Precognition / Danger Sense
Rathir is particularly sensitive to danger in the moments immediately before it occurs. These impressions usually arrive as warnings, impulses or sudden certainty rather than detailed visions.
Mental Defence
Unwanted mental intrusion can provoke an instinctive defensive response, causing Rathir to close himself off before he consciously understands what he is doing.
DEVELOPING
Living Force Awareness
Rathir responds most naturally to the immediate world around him and has a stronger affinity for present experience than deliberate foresight.
Force Enhancement
Basic physical enhancement remains part of his training, though his natural Firrerreo strength means he does not rely upon it as heavily as some Jedi.
Telekinesis
Capable of basic pushes, pulls and manipulation, but still developing control and precision.
FOUNDATIONAL
Telepathy
Limited to elementary exercises and simple communication.
UNDEVELOPED
Mental Influence
Rathir has little practical ability with suggestion or deliberate mental influence.
TRAINING CHALLENGES
- Struggles with prolonged meditation and deliberate foresight
- Can have difficulty distinguishing genuine precognitive warning from habits developed while surviving on Denon
- Has considerably more patience for practical exercises than extended introspection
-
COMBAT PROFILE
Rathir is still an inexperienced lightsaber combatant, but takes readily to physical instruction. His natural Firrerreo strength, immediate danger sense and preference for direct responses have gradually drawn him toward a grounded, defensive style built around meeting an attack and returning force against it.
He is difficult to surprise and capable of striking considerably harder than his build suggests. Neither advantage substitutes for experience, however, and Rathir can sometimes rely on strength or instinct where cleaner technique would serve him better.
LIGHTSABER FORMS
FORM I -- SHII-CHO
The foundation of Rathir's lightsaber training. Shii-Cho remains the basis of his footwork, fundamental attacks, parries and weapon control.
STATUS: Foundation
INSTRUCTOR/S: Jedi Order
FORM V -- SHIEN / DJEM SO
Rathir's developing speciality. He is particularly drawn toward strong defensive responses, forceful parries and counterattacks that immediately turn an opponent's aggression back against them.
Djem So also suits his natural physical strength, though instructors have reason to discourage him from allowing that strength to compensate for imperfect technique.
STATUS: Developing
INSTRUCTOR/S: Jedi Order
FORM VII -- JUYO
The intensity and directness of Juyo have attracted Rathir's interest.
He has received no formal instruction in the form.
His instructors have, so far, continued to say no.
STATUS: Interest only
COMBAT STRENGTHS
- Immediate danger sense can provide brief warning of incoming attacks
- Considerable natural Firrerreo strength
- Strong preference for parrying, holding ground and counterattacking
- Protective instincts make Rathir particularly committed when defending another person
COMBAT LIMITATIONS
- Only one year of formal Jedi training
- Natural strength can compensate for poor technique and reinforce bad habits
- Protective instincts can lead him to commit too quickly when somebody else is threatened
- Has interest in more aggressive techniques well beyond his present level of training
-

PERSONAL POSSESSIONS
Grandparent's Canine
A canine tooth once belonging to a deceased grandparent, given to Rathir when he was very young as a family good-luck token. He continues to wear it around his neck.
Stone Token
A small carved stone Rathir dropped during the evacuation of Anaxes. Its meaning is personal to his family and clan. Its edges are chipped and its surface heavily scratched from years of being gripped, struck, thrown and recovered.
Rathir does not cherish it, but has never managed to leave it behind.
SHIP
None.

FAMILY & CLAN
Family and Clan
Separated from Rathir during the evacuation of Anaxes when he was ten years old. Their current whereabouts are unknown.
Rathir has never stopped considering himself part of them, despite having had no contact with another member of his clan since the evacuation. He still watches for names, symbols and other signs that might lead him back to them.
CONNECTIONS
Congen Rintenne
A fellow Jedi Initiate whom Rathir considers a friend. He likes her, worries about her and has already become protective of her. Congen choosing to come back for him when he was overwhelmed during a violent protest, and refusing to leave after he was shot, meant considerably more to Rathir than he has said aloud.
Devi Jyn-tal
A Mikkian Jedi Rathir met during the Naboo Cultural Exchange. Their first conversation became spectacularly awkward, but Rathir liked her enough to follow when she tried to escape it rather than let the interaction end there. He finds her interesting and easy to talk to once they both stop overthinking things, and would happily spend more time with her.
Chiassa
A fellow young Jedi Rathir has quickly grown comfortable around. He enjoys her enthusiasm, is genuinely impressed by how much she knows and has already settled easily into joking and teasing with her. Rathir is prone to deciding someone is a friend rather quickly, and Chiassa is well on her way there.
Jackson Lesan
An older Padawan Rathir is comfortable taking direction from without becoming particularly formal about it. He is equally comfortable joking with Jackson and testing exactly how flexible instructions such as food before tactical animal parts might be.
Sophelia Ardemark
A fellow Jedi Rathir has begun working alongside during the Vendaxa supply mission. He recognises that she knows considerably more about medicine than he does and is comfortable deferring to that expertise when it matters.
MENTORS
None
Rathir has yet to be formally taken as a Padawan and currently receives instruction through the wider Jedi Order.
