Braddock can remember the last time he won a martial arts tournament. The feeling of elation, as if the whole galaxy was focused on just him. It was the greatest feeling in the world so much so that Braddock fought and trained hard so that he can experience that high again. To see all of the blood, sweat and tears pay off with millions of dollars, endorsements and women fawning all over him.

The old fighter adjusted himself on his wheelchair staring at the 12 trophies he'd won throughout his career. 12 straight tourney wins as a Tutaminus specialist. It was bliss, it was eternity until Braddock had his car accident. He closed his eyes trying not to remember but the mind loves to maintain negative thoughts. The images of seeing a little boy chasing after a ball causing Braddock to swerve and crash into an oak tree.

Of course, there was the doctor who told him due to his damaged spine, he can never stand up again. Fuck him, fuck everything. No good deed goes unpunished huh? All Braddock wanted was to be a star and this is repayment.

The old fighter began to control his Power Chair around his small apartment, a pile of medical bills lay on his table near the refrigerator. Braddock was left in the dirt and now he has nothing left but to lash out.

He exited his apartment grabbing his crossbow and entered the streets his dark eyes darting around for any signs of people. Today, Braddock will start to feel alive.

Outside on the mid-level streets of Corscant it was life as usual. At this time of day most inhabitants of this level were at work or school. There were a few shop owners who were out on the streets trying to direct business into their establishments. There were a few random pedestrians and of course there was a flow of speeder traffic as well.

Karla Jammer wasn't exactly sure what she was doing on this level. She thought her life had moved beyond these pedestrian settings, but it seemed that she still needed to work. Amazingly her agent had told her that a shop in the area had managed to come up with the fee that Karla charged for a daily appearance. Now the question is where this boutique was located. Her driver swore it was just across the avenue, but Karla wasn't quite sure.

Chloe Tameron thought of the mid-levels as a step you. She was a dancer in a local club, but she always had trouble sleeping during the day. As a result she often found herself roaming the streets hoping to either empty the energy tank or find something interesting to pass the time.

Neither woman knew that Braddock was coming out of the nearby apartment building.

Braddock then spotted a young woman walking down the street past him as if he was nobody. A pretty young model whose body was thin in fact Eric's arm was probably bigger than her entire body. She was wearing a revealing green dress and was crossing the street to go to the local 99 credit store. Maybe she was going pose for the cheap and disheveled place perhaps? Braddock did not know but it was amazing that the owner could somehow afford a model's fee but not simple medicine for people like him.

A smirk formed on Eric's face as he approached the young woman. Maybe his little rampage could start with a kidnapping. It wasn't like the woman could defend herself or anything. "You there!" He barked. "What's your name?!" He shook his head as he pretended to struggle controlling his wheelchair. "It's not often that an old soul like me gets noticed by the young!"

Karla was aghast when she realized that her agent was sending her to a 99 credit store. What did he think she was. And with only one lazy guard who didn't even want to get out of the car. The mid-levels weren't supposed to be that dangerous, but even still Karla deserved better. As soon as she got her check for this job she was going to look into new representation. She was a budding star, not some discount store shelf ornament.

Just as she was about to reach the entrance to the store she heard someone call out and she looked around and saw the man in his hover chair, he looked like he might be struggling. Karla looked across the avenue to her driver and growled. She was not wearing the right outfit for gallivanting around the streets of the mid-levels, but she wasn't vapid enough to leave a man in a hover chair to deal on his own. "I'm Karla," she said with a smile. "I bet all the young girls notice you," she said with a smile. "And the boys try to ignore you so as not to show they don't measure up."

Braddock hid his crossbow near the arm of his power chair, he didn't want to scare her not yet. Braddock wanted to play with his food for a bit before doing anything drastic. She was pretty after all dressed in a green revealing dress and her hair tied up neatly. Perfect for a fashion model that Braddock often read in the Holonet. "Karla," a smile formed on the old fighter's face as he went closer towards her. Even in his powerchair, he still dwarfed the young woman.

"Back when I was a martial artist champion," Braddock chuckled. "All of the girls wanted to date me and all of the boys wanted to be me." A hint of nostalgia was laced in his voice. Braddock the Badass is what the people called him. Not a creative nickname by any means but one that was organically made by his fans. Braddock would spend hours in his apartment just watching Holofootage reliving the glory days and wishing them back.

But reality had a way of fracking him in the ass. "I was 12 time champion," Braddock said. "Why don't you walk with me, a pretty girl like you shouldn't be walking alone."

Karla was a little weary of the man, but he seemed nice enough. She gave another look to her driver across the street and then to Braddock. The man in the hoverchair then announced he was a martial arts champion. Karla gave a bit of a frown when she realized that any championships were probably well in the past. Though she could see the ruminants of a galactic athlete, she wondered what had put him in his current situation. "Twelve times? That's a lot. You must have been the best. No wonder everyone admired you."

He asked her to walk with him Karla again looked around. "I...well. I'm really only going right here," Karla pointed to the 99 credit store. "Not sure how I'm supposed to be worth my fee to the owner, but that's really not my job to figure out." She looked to her chrono. "I guess I have a little while to walk if you want..."

"The 99 credit store," Braddock said with a hearty laugh. "For a store that's supposedly cheap, they price gauge the frack out of it." Braddock despised the store mainly because they were always late with his medications. Due to his injuries sustained by the crash, Braddock was in constant need for Bacta and the store had a pharmacy that housed it. However, it was also one of the more corrupt places in this side of the neighborhood with criminals often using it to conduct their businesses.

Braddock was forced to turn to underground alternatives such as a drug dealer named Steely Daan. He gave him the Bacta that he needed however, lately Braddock noticed the quality of Bacta he received was poor and when he confronted Daan about it, he spat in Braddock's face and told him that he was behind in pay. Braddock gripped the edges of his chair, the checks stopped coming for some reason and Braddock told Daan that he owe him but it wasn't enough. "At least you got Bacta because you were a legendary fighter I saw you dominate Wilkur the Conqueror when I was a kid!" Daan replied. "Be thankful that I'm feeling generous!"

He sighed and looked at Karla. "I was the best," Braddock said. "But the 99 credit store is not a place for a girl like you. I'll walk you to it." Braddock began to drive towards the store making sure that Karla was close. "Why are you going to the store?" He asked his hand twitching ready to grab Karla at a moments notice.

Karla listened to the man bad-mouth the store that she was heading to. It didn't particularly bother her. She didn't know how the store worked so it could very well be the truth, but it seemed like maybe he had an axe to grind with the establishment. That didn't bother Karla either. She never planned to actually shop at the 99 Credit Store, so what the rest of the galaxy thought wasn't really a big deal.

After a slight delay in the interaction while it seemed the man was deep in thought of some sort. Karla almost started to finish her walk before the man snapped back into the conversation. "I appreciate the escort," Karla said with a smile. "But I'm gonna need a name for the best. As to why I'm going to the store...bad management. I should be a star of the holo, magazines and runway. Instead my crummy agent gets me a job at the 99 Credit Store. Not like I can afford not to take it though."

Braddock smiled as they got closer towards the store. "You're a model huh?" he asked. "Thought so based on your looks, you stick out more than a Gungan in a city." He shifted his weight on his power chair as he got closer towards Karla. "I understand how you feel." he said. "I should have more trophies but I had my accident just because I wanted to not hit some little boy who had dropped his ball and went on the streets to get it."

He sighed spitting bitterly on the ground next to Karla's heels. "I was driving my speeder 10 years ago on Courscant," Braddock began then I saw the kid staring at my speeder like a Womp Rat in the headlights. I had a make a choice since I was speeding that day, let the kid die or swerve out of the way. I've drove missing the kid and crashed into a wall where I had to get out through the jaws of life."

Braddock shook his head. "Since then the doctors told me I can no longer walk due to a broken spine effectively my career."

He reached to Karla and grabbed her arm increasing his grip. "Now I have nothing to lose." Braddock said not letting of Karla's arm.

Karla did her best to hide the blush that formed on her cheeks. She was used to people telling her she was beautiful, but most of the time it was followed by what product she could sell millions of. It had been a while since she received a compliment with no professional context. "Yeah a model, though not a well marketed one. I should be as big as Kandra Starflare, but no I'm hocking discount items at the 99 credit store." She gave a gasp when he explained the cause of his injury. He was involved in a combat sport so Karla just assumed that it happened in the course of competition. "I hope the boy was ok. It's terrible what happened to you, but if you're going to suffer like this, I hope it wasn't for nothing."

Karla was relieved to hear that he was able to miss the kid, but now she felt even more bad for him. "That is terrible. There is nothing they can do? I thought medicine had moved past that..." Then he grabbed her arm. "Hey. What're you doing?" Karla asked as he grip strengthened. "Seriously. What the heck. Nothing to lose? What does that mean?"

"The injury was the beginning of a long downward spiral for me." Braddock said still holding Karla's arm not letting go. "I've suffered for a long time Karla. As soon as I was forced into retirement, people spit on me called me a washed has been. All the money I've made vanished, all of the people whom I thought were my friends abandoned me and my physique began to deteriorate into a broken mess reliant Bacta from the pharmaceuticals who put their self interests over me, to drug dealers who gawk at me and remind me of my condition."

Braddock smiled still holding Karla's bony arm. "What I lost the most," Braddock said. "Was my pride and my honor to be beaten and humiliated but no more! I will take back what I lost! I will gain my revenge on those who wronged me and you will be my witness!"

It was then Braddock yanked Karla's arm, hoisting her up on the arm of his powerchair and wrapped his massive arm around her small waist. "It's time go on an rampage!" He shouted.

"Look man," Karla said trying to sound forceful, but her fear was very obvious. "I am really sorry about your injury. It sounds like you did a good thing, and have been suffering ever since because of it. I wish there was something I could do to help you out, but I'm really just looking to get to my job. I don't want to be witness to anything."

Without warning she was yanked up onto the powerchair. She yelped out in fear and looked to the lazy-ass driver still sitting across the street watching something on his datapad. "A rampage? What does that mean? And w-why do I have to be a part of it?"

"Because!" Braddock laughed tightening his grip around the woman's waist as he began to move towards the alleyway. "Why not start a day with a kidnapping? People like you would always walk by me spitting on me! Treating me like garbage! I had to endure like some weak imbecile but no more!"

Braddock continued to hold Karla going deeper into the alleyway. "I will take back the honor and pride that I've lost!" He ranted holding Karla tightly. "I will fight back against the people who deceived me!" He got out his crossbow a wicked smiled etched on his face. "And It'll start with that piece of chit drug dealer!"

Damsels Damsels

"But I was nice to you," Karla complained loudly, though the empty streets didn't seem to care what she said. Even her driver just sat not moving. Seems his job was only to watch her cross the street and then take her back home. "I know you are no weak imbecile. Why are you taking what others say out on me?"

"Where are you taking me now!?" Karla yelled out as they entered the alley. "Taking me won't get you anything back. I left my family to come here. I doubt anyone would even know where to look for them. My agent sent me to work at the 99 credit store and my driver couldn't be concerned enough to make sure I made it inside. Why do I have to be a part of all this?"
