STRENGTHS
  • Rip and Roar: The Ramikad-Class Corvette was designed with powerful Ion Engines making it exceptionally fast. It can outpace most ships of its class and even some Starfighters. This serves its primary function as a boarding vessel by allowing to close distance with larger ships before they can successfully engage with it.
  • Anywhere, anytime: Equipped with an advanced docking array the Ramikad literally forces itself on larger Capital Ships using highly magnetic docking clamps and advanced, precision cutting lasers to slice holes in the hulls of other ships while holding itself in place. An observer once identified this as similar in appearance to what a symbiotic parasite might do to its host. Once contact has been made it takes a minimal amount of time for the Ramikad to breach other ships.

WEAKNESSES
  • Not a Brawler: The Ramikad was designed to deliver a platoon of Mandalorian Commandos from Point A to Point B in as short and efficient time as possible. It has fairly tertiary weapons which might dissuade Starfighters in low numbers from engaging it but pose a low threat to any dedicated Capital Ships.

DESCRIPTION
The Ramikad-Class Corvette was designed with Fleet Action in mind where a platoon of Commandos could be deployed to assault an enemy vessel at high speed and with a minimum amount of time before infiltration.
Outfitted with powerful Ion Engines the Ramikad is fast, faster than most other ships its size and able to keep pace with many Starfighters allowing it to penetrate the ranks of an enemy fleet before a response can be coordinated in most instances. It retains an average amount of maneuverablility allowing it to evade enemy fire with some success.
Equipped with a pair of Turbolasers and some Point Defense Lasers the Ramikad poses little threat to most other Capital Ships, it might lucky and deal some damage to another vessel already engaged in combat with another ship but Commanders shouldn't expect more. If that were its primary purpose the Ramikad would be a subpar vessel fortunately its main offensive capability is to forcibly dock with almost any enemy vessel and deploy a contingent of upwards of 80 Mandalorian Commandos into those ships as part of boarding actions and infiltration. Reinforced Durasteel Plating and a High Output Deflector Shield help it to make the crossing successfully.
Ramikad's perform best as part of a group, it's not uncommon to see three of the Corvettes deployed in tandem ensuring that even if one is intercepted the other two have a percentage chance of making it to their target.
