Dominion Rally Call | EE Dominion of Abbaji

dRUm20K.png

Despite their best efforts, the soldiers of the Eternal Empire were ultimately unable to stop the broadcast and the spread of the rebels' message. The operation to recapture the comms tower on Abbaji had been a short, but intense and bloody skirmish, many rebels paying the ultimate price in order to share their message with the rest of the galaxy.

Many had died, some had even been captured but ultimately, the Eclipse rebels had managed to successfully accomplish their objective. Although a heavy cost was paid, the worlds of the Unknown Regions were now alerted to the threat posed by the Eternal Empire and the consequences of this would, for now, remain unknown.

Despite this fairly signifficant setback, not all was lost for the Imperials, either. Until now, Abbaji had been only an outpost at the outskirts of their territory. Now, troops were pouring in and the military presence was increased, expanding the Empire's influence to fully encompass Abbaji, which would subsequently be fully annexed into its territory.

For both sides, Abbaji was but the beginning, the first skirmish between two cultures which were fundamentally opposed to eachother. One thing was now certain. There would be many more, much bloodier battles to come, before the fate of the Unknown Regions would be determined.

(The dominion has now concluded, but the story continues. Feel free to continue posting past this point and expand the story of Abbaji further)

Her arrival on the new world was, admittedly, incredibly disorienting. The people outside of Vran'Ti had less guarded thoughts she noticed. More willing to criticize authority and each other. More willing to think thoughts. It was strange really, and it was also incredibly convenient for the girl. As she had an easier time deciphering where she needed to go without having to ask a single quesiton. This was perhaps a bit intrusive from the perspective of some, but where she was from, a Vo Ni had the authority to perceive the thoughts of others. They spoke for the soul, and so it was important that they understood it. She made her way through the crowds, focusing to keep herself from being easily seen and noticed. Hiding her real appearance by subtly removing her cloak and wrapping it around her, shifting her body, and then using illusions to fill in the gaps by altering the colors and texture appearances of her clothes. While this did require her attention, the simplicity of the illusion meant it didn't need much and was more a sub-effort than a focus. Leaving her able to continue on her search. The imperial troops however were already beginning to fill in and she didn't have the time to act like a normal person. So she chose to keep heavily to the shadows, again using the force to further decrease any signs she actually was there.

In her approach of the building however, things were clearly becoming hectic. And her decision to hide her true identity was becoming ever so much more apparent to be a good choice for the moment. As the forces of the Empire were only growing more threatening by the moment. She began to hurry, concern growing in her about the decision she had made. She held no good will towards the empire so attempting to sabotage them was only beneficial. But that didn't mean her actions didn't somewhat scare her. She'd left her home, and that alone was something that was a little scary. Let alone this rebellion she'd...joined? Technically there was not a lot of joining done, she was just doing what was prompted.

However her rush to the building slowed considerably as the military presence just kept on increasing, even recognizing that a force was repelling into the building. Fear tried to rush through her, she had to force herself to maintain the false appearance while simultaneously pushing her presence from those who might look at her. She glanced around hurriedly, looking for an entrance point. There were vents, those she recognized. She made her way around, then shifting matter around her fingers into dense bone like structures and using those to climb the building with considerable haste before tearing the grate off and slipping inside, pulling the grate in behind her. She released the illusions finally, and wrapped her cloak around herself properly. Allowing her to focus on senses and the minds of those attempting to get in, or already inside. She made her way through trying to figure out where to go until she sensed another mind. It felt more obscured than the others, but it was there.

She breathed in, making her way closer to wherever that was, then using the force to pry open the vent allowing her to drop down onto the ground so she could rush her way there instead. When she began to grow close she slowed again, making her feet soft and spongelike to absorb every bit of sound they made while stepping closer and closer to the room. She breathed in, she had to make a decision, and she was making it now. She glanced inside to see who was there and hoped it was not a military personal, but in fact a rebel, so she could download whatever it is she was supposed to. And maybe get in contact with them.

Someone was coming. That much, Adelle could sense, but not who or what intent they had. She spun as the door opened, hand ready to pull her lightsaber from its place at the small of her back. A young female humanoid, draped in robes that felt more like barriers than fabrics, entered and stopped suddenly, uncertainty painted on her face. Slowly, Adelle relaxed, trusting in the lack of Imperial sigils. She nodded to a second port on the control panel.

::Hurry.:: she said. ::The Emperor comes.::

Shavara looked at the woman holding up her hands as the woman spun around noticing her there, holding onto something behind her. The woman however relaxed which Shavara also responded to, letting out a breath and nodding as the woman did to a port, mentioning something about the emperor coming. She moved swiftly to the ports, connecting one with her communicator as she did so and glancing occasionally at the woman. When she spoke, her voice was notably extremely clear, even though Galactic Basic was not her first language. Shrak, the language of a Vran'Ti, required the use of the entire mouth and throat, making the pronunciation of other languages much easier, "What afterwards?" she asked simply and quietly, unsure where to go, frowning notably, "I do not have a ship and doubt that they stayed."

Equipment: shavaras-robes

::They will cast a net over Abbaji for a few days.:: Adelle said, the helmet turning her voice into something more electronic. ::Until they realize that enough has escaped to already thwart their blockade. Practicality demands they conserve resources, to conquer and especially if they fear rebellion. Paranoia demands heightened security measures in their wake. These too will slacken as normalcy return and locals grow comfortable again.::

She turned her attention to the progress reports on the device. The viruses Leigh had designed would specifically target Imperial systems, starting with the auxiliary and working its way up the priority chain. The droid had assured her security measures and the broadcast would be left alone. Adelle prayed whatever Leigh had cooked up would stall the Empire's reinforcements long enough for all the rebels now inside to get out before there was a repeat of Bakura.

::I will be staying planetside, elsewhere, under a different guise.:: She turned her head to the young female. ::It is wisest to seek shelter in a storm, no?::

Shavara nodded as she said they'd be blocking things off, but that they'd realize the efforts would be in vain and they'd need to move things around. So, she'd have to find somewhere to hide somewhere for now. Shavara finally managed to get at least most of what she believed she needed from the system. She hoped at least, she didn't do this sort of thing back on Vran'ti. It was a little bit of guesswork really. The woman mentioned staying planetside but under a different guise, Shavara nodded in response. "I'm not...familiar with this world. I can look different if necessary," She made her face change shades and seem to momentarily extend before returning, to demonstrate, "But I do not know much about culture or...technology outside of my home. I might be able to hide, but from here I don't really know what I'm doing. This may have been...a mistake on my part." she admitted.

She really didn't know much about the world outside of Vran'Ti. And the fact they were going to be stuck on this planet for a little only further solidified that realization in her mind, that trying to figure out what to do here was going to be immensely difficult. What was she even going to eat? Or where was she going to sleep?

::There is no reward without risk.:: The last of the viruses uploaded, corrupting the Imperial systems further. Adelle removed the device and tucked it into a pouch on her belt. She took the shifting appearance in stride, although she had to admit she it impressed her. A rebel that could change appearances on a whim would be a valuable ally. Her fingers slyly dipped into another pouch and she took the female shapeshifter's hand in a firm grip.

::We run a marathon. Patience will be your virtue. The rainforests provide.:: Adelle palmed the decicred-sized comlink to the shapeshifter as she released her hand. She hoped the female caught her drift. There was no way to know if the Imperials had reestablished control of internal surveillance.

A quick check on the external holocams told her the Imperials had almost opened the blast doors wide enough to breach the facility.

::Time's up. We'll meet again.::

Adelle turned and strode down the corridors, pulling three sticks from a pocket on her shirt. She still had a few tricks up her sleeves, in case she ran into soldiers on the way to the garbage incinerator.

He did not like how smoothly everything had come to pass.

From the moment that the Empress Apparent had come to the bridge to the moment that the unknown craft had been drawn into the Legacy's hangar the Chiss had felt a mild state of unease. An unease that he could not explain, decipher or fathom as his feet carried him through the halls that arranged deck three; this notion, however, would remain almost entirely invisible to those that he had requested follow him in due tandem with is known quality.

It was through a minor extension of silence in the presence of his fellow crew at their destination that would have given him away to the most keen of minds. As he stood, eyeing the interred passengers, quietly while Vyra and Na'an likely watched on with a mild sense of confusion, he pored over the various statements and questions he might present to this particular individual even as she spouted a fairly naive question that failed to surprise him.

It became immediately clear to him that this woman was not directly associated with the hierarchy of the Eternal Empire, but that same fact did not clear her of involvement with manner upon the planet's surface.

Taking a step forward, his hands still clasped behind his back, the Chiss eyed the younger woman once more as he slowly drew a half circle around her with his movements.

"That is a question for another time, I'm afraid," he began as he raised his hand to indicate a guard towards he and the unknown girl. The guard followed closely in tune with his orders and made to grab the girl's arm and guide her into the room that was directly to their left. "Before you converse with them you and I are going to discuss a few things."

He continued and moved through the doorway, his gaze shifting from the woman and towards Vyra with an entirely unspoken and nearly invisible inquiry of curiosity. While he was not privy to what had been discussed in his private quarters beneath the bridge, he could only imagine that the way they carried themselves indicated that they had not spent the time in utter silence.

It was a matter for a later date, and one that they would not be aware of.

After all, there was no care in exposing ones methods to all who might lack the perception to understand them.

Objective 1.
Location: Abbaji tower
Actions: Find somewhere to hide
People nearby: (formerly) Adelle Bastiel Adelle Bastiel (now): Just avoid the soldiers.

No reward without risk? Fair enough. She took something out, talking about patience, and secretly handing it to her, Shavara did her best to keep herself to seemingly just be taking the hand. Assuming it was done intentionally to deceive cameras. She hoped they weren't watching her, that would make escape considerable more difficult. And another comment that it was time to go, but that they'd meet again, presumably thanks to the commlink just handed to her, which she made move up her sleeve so it wasn't noticed, just in case.

While Adelle Bastiel Adelle Bastiel went her own way, Shavara would head back the way she came. Carefully sneaking back to the air vents, and lifting herself up into them to crawl out. Escaping should be of relative ease, as she once again began to disguise her appearance even further through the force, aside from the fact her body was different, the changing of clothes was extra important to ensure she wouldn't be noticed if she was seen. And then off she went, relying on her telepathy to tell where people were. Trying to make her way out of the city, or at least, out of what they were paying attention to.

Anyplace to hide, anywhere to go that wasn't here. She just had to get somewhere where she could wait it out. Take the appearance of a local, take advantage of the telepathy and the shifting and illusions. Just so that they'd never realize she was actually there to track. And that even if they did, the sources wouldn't be reliable enough to be sure that it was one person. Avoid the cameras, avoid the people, and all will be well. At least she hoped so.

Lori's eyebrows raised when Mitth'rae'leios Mitth'rae'leios came into view. A Chiss. She hadn't run into them before, but their history pitted them as some of the best in the Galaxy when it came to military strategy. That was something that she had to keep in mind here.

Her eyes followed him as he paced around her. She surpressed a chill that his red eyes induced, never wavering her gaze from him. Even when the guard took hold of her arm. "Hey! I can walk on my own, you know!" Lori didn't struggle as she was escorted to the other room. What was the point? Both her and Arla were highly outnumbered and away from their ship. No, it was best to bide their time and find out just why they weren't just blown out of the sky.

Once inside of the room, Lori put on a casual smirk, choosing humour and spunk to hide her growing anxiety of the situation as she addressed Thrael. "Well, if it's a discussion you want....Then tell me, is it true that Chiss' faces turn purple when they get mad?"

Scenario after scenario panned through the Chiss mind. Victory, defeat, stalemate even obliteration panned through the various concepts and consistentices. While hardly a single one held a pertinent merit in his mind, none were discredited for even the slightest of their flaws.

For in war there were no accommodations that could not be made for the sake of producing the most commonly predicted outcome one could produce.

It was for this very reason that the Chiss hardly noticed the remark that had been made by the human girl when they entered the interrogation chamber. Her demeanor one of quiet and malcontent, but her speech reflecting an air of confidence, humor and sarcasm that brought a tilt to his head that most rarely saw. A tilt that lead to him fully turning the spectrum of his body to face her as she was seated across the table from where he stood.

There was little difficulty in reading the rhythm of her heartbeat, the vision attributed to his species granted him that insight passively with great effect.

"As much as it would please you to be rebutted in your attempt at humor, you'll find I find no merit in witty banter in place of proper confidence," he breathed, his body taking a rigidness that each soldier in the room was familiar with. Each of them took a step back towards the walls as he circled the table towards the chair on which she sat, his hand laying gently against the cold metal of it's back as he stood quietly, looming over her. "Rather I am more interested in how your humor reflects your attitude towards situations such as these, and,

How a woman such as yourself is in need of such scathing sarcasm when they might attempt to explain their presence in a recently secured system."
His words like ice, his tone smooth but with a menace to it that went silent to those that it's words held little commitment to. As his voice trailed off, his hand lifting from the seat as he pulled away to return to his previous position, he rubbed his fingers together before him as he almost examined the particles upon his finger tips.

"I'll only ask you this question a select number of times, shipper, so I suggest you come up with an answer that warrants a minimal or full scale investigation," he continued, his body swinging stiffly into it's previous position, his hands coming to rest clasped behind his back. "The choice between the two entirely up to you should you feel cooperative or rebellious."

Almost as if on cue as he spoke, his words hanging in the air, his eyes narrowed for the briefest of moments as they fixed upon what would have been her own gaze. The rest of his posture did not change, his breathing even and his expression undaunted, as his confidence maintained a steadfast composure against what might be any further attempts at shaking him.

He was like a impervium trap waiting to snap upon the victim that stepped upon it's pressure plate.

"What brings a shipping captain out this far into the Unknown Regions?" He asked, his red eyes like two burning orbs intent on searing into her mind. "And why to a planet with little to offer in the way of potential supplies?"

Lori sat down on the chair, now taking stock of the room she was brought to. At least it had a table.

Mitth'rae'leios Mitth'rae'leios ' response to her witty remark was not what she had expected. Most other officers would surely have blown their cool, but not this Chiss Admiral. His lack of any emotional reaction to her jab at him made her even more uncomfortable. It wasn't as though she had been captured by an enemy before. More often than not she was able to slip away and avoid it, either through cunning or her tricks.

But not this time.

Still, it didn't mean that she couldn't get herself out of this situation.

Lori kept her gaze on Thrael's, although she noticed the other officers retreating to the walls. How often had they witnessed interrogations by him?

The cold, icy stare given as he mentioned 'rebellious' gave her what she needed to know. He suspected her involvement, but right now he had no proof. And that was perfect.

Lori leaned back in her chair. Her heart was pounding a little quicker than normal, yet she leaned back in the chair and looked as casual as she could. "Look...I'm just an innocent bystander...standing by. It's not like everyone's given advance notice for when fleets decide to blockade a system on a whim.... And really...do you know the ins and outs of shipping? Are you aware that it goes both ways? Are you aware of the fuel it takes to cross the Galaxy? My little ship hardly has the fuel reserves that your Destroyers have. So honestly, it's more out of the ordinary for a fleet like yours to be blockading a planet way out in the Unknown Regions with little to offer, isn't it? One might suspect that you were up to something..." She gave him a smirk. "So are you up to something?"

Desperation was like a disease.

A disease that took hold upon the weak in their moments of hesitation, anxiety and considerable self doubt. And, like any disease, it was one easily exploited to manipulate or dissect the victim once it had taken it's toll. Or so the theory went when one was dealing with organisms of a far less sentient variety; and something far less practiced in actuality upon intelligent beings.

She had been clever in navigating her way through his words, mannerisms and the apparent atmosphere of the room; almost too clever. As his mind once again pored over the concepts which both of them had presented into the conversation, he made note of his lack of intention of bringing the manner of her ship or intricacies of her personal feelings, uprooting them had been a success.

While clever would have been the term a typical officer would have used, it was one he was willing to set aside in place of a the more pertinent term: Perceptive.

"You make a very interesting, and applicably valid point," he began as he once again turned and faced one of the walls. His body remained stiff, but one of his hands raised to lift a small holo-projector into view. A projector that, with a click of a button, revealed a detailed readout of the entire system at the simple navigators glance. "Were this system of little importance, that is."

For a moment his voice trailed, his thumb clicking a small nodule on the device that caused the system map to shrink and reveal the much larger expanse of the Unknown Regions. What stood as particularly curious about the system map, as well as the carefully mapped collection of stars and planets, was that it did not appear to have been put together by any imperial.

"What you do not seem to understand about this system," he uttered as he set the hologram down onto the table, clasped his hands behind his back and brought his eyes back down upon her form; poised at an angle that allowed him to see just how unsettled she visibly was without the lack of vision that any of the others in the room possessed. "Is this particular cluster of systems here."

As his voice trailed he lowered one hand to press another button on the hologram that forced it to focus down onto a select set of systems surrounding the Abbaji system, that included but did not focus upon the Eternal Empire's space. He used that moment, as well, to note her heart rate and the amount of dilation in her eyes as a potential indicator of her stress or paranoia.

"This system acts as a significant relay point for a large number of systems within the Unknown Regions. Significant enough to merit the use of a blockade to prevent tampering by any criminal enterprise seeking to gain access to such a potentially vast network of communications," he once again related to her as he leaned back into his original posture, leaving the hologram where she could see it. "And while your fuel concerns are relevant,

though somewhat impertinent, I would say that your purpose out here is not the delivery or collection of goods."
He breathed with little hint of interruption as his eyes fixed upon her with the very same icy stare that he could see was causing a stimulus in her blood pressure; an apparent heat forming beneath her skin indicating an increase in stress. "As such I see no need for you to use this particular system, as you put it, so far out into the Unknown Regions as a way station of any kind."

Even as he spoke he could not help but consider if perhaps he was pressing the subject too far. Or if perhaps there was more to gain from this situation than what he had already ascertained. It was for that reason, though only mildly, that he drew in a slow, deep breath and let his posture slacken just a bit as he picked up the holographic projector.

"However, let's say that you do need this planet as a relay point. Or that this planet holds a significance to you that one might not consider upon first inspection," he started with a slight tilt of his head, his attention drawing away from her only briefly as to stimulate a different response from her away from his intense gaze. "Just what kind of supplies would you be collecting and, or, delivering so far out here in the Unknown Regions?"

His gaze did not falter, it did not even blink, but it was not on her directly for the moment. He had not let her out of his peripherals, but he was unsure if she would be aware of such a thing.

"It's a rather simple question, really. Something you should be able to answer fairly quickly."

Lori raised a brow as Mitth'rae'leios Mitth'rae'leios produced the holo-projected map. Now what was his game? She watched as the images zoomed out, only for the entire thing to be placed on the table in front of her. She took note of the systemls that he had pointed out, glad that Bakura wasn't even touched upon. So far it seems, her actions there weren't connected to her.

Thrael caught her attention when he mentioned 'criminal enterprise' and 'network of communications', yet to stave off any hint of anxiety, she merely sighed a little and shook her head, speaking her mind underneath her breath. "Well that sounds horrible..."

Yet he continued on. Lori listened, holding his gaze as he relayed out more of his suggestions as to what her true purpose here was. Thrael was trying to corner her, to make her confess what he believed to be the truth, but there was no way that she was going to do that. Doing so would have her locked up and possibly executed after interrogations.

But now it was her turn to speak. And speak she did. "You know, there's a code among shippers and spacers, and that is to mind your own business. Saves you from being shot. Now have I been doing anything illegal? No. Have I been shipping anything illegal? No. I'm sure you already have your crew snooping through every nook and cranny of my ship, not to mention accessed our logs. So you'll see that I'm telling you the truth.

Now the way that I see it, you have some preconceived notion about what I'm doing here and you're just waiting for me to give you coincidal information that'll help get you a promotion. Well I'd hate to tell you buddy, but I don't have any of that for you. And WHEN you check my logs you'll also find that I take on passengers and take them where they wish. Some are off the books because...well, it's not my place to get in the way of their romantic affairs."
She shuddered in mock disgust and then got to her feet. "Now if it's all the same to you I've got my own romantic affair to get to. So can I go now?"

Passenger transportation.

Why had he not considered that?

The thought sequestered itself in his mind as he took a few moments to process the select number of possibilities that might be tethered with it. Then he scoured those that were remote but operable in regards to those related to his current inquiry. Finally he settled upon the possibilities in relation to the words that continued to flow from her mouth as his posture remained slightly aloof of her.

Romantic rendezvous. A curious proposition for a shipping pilot or smuggler, but one that he could not discredit in it's entirety without first contemplating the reasoning behind it.

It was as he reached that particular element of his mental process that he heard the chair scrape against the metallic floor, drawing his icy gaze back to her with a snap. Her temperature had settled, save for a mild sense of urgency that seemed to pulse through her rhythmically where she stood, her nerves finding their way back into their proper correlation in apparent recovery from what could only have been assumed to been intimidation.

"You misunderstand me, shipper," the Chiss mused as he aligned his posture to face her once more, his hands once again clasping behind his back to reconstruct his air of formality and authority. His eyes sought hers, flicking over a variety of parts of her body as they searched for even the slightest signs of hesitation or conflict until they settled. "I do not seek any form of promotion or glory in my endeavors here in this particular arena."

As his voice trailed he took a number of careful but solid steps towards the young woman until he was standing before her in such a way that his head blocked a significant amount of the light in the room that would have previously enveloped her. He could not understand how such a sharp and intelligent young woman could have overlooked such a particularly finite detail that her current actions betrayed.

Or was it perhaps that she did not consider that he already knew all these particular protocols to a very extensive manner?

"Rather I seek knowledge and understanding of the sentient condition," he continued, one of his hands lowering to the table with his fingers brushing gently against it as one of the Trandoshans stepped forward and closer to the two of them. Before it had made it too close, he raised his other hand to signal the Trandoshan to stop where it stood just feet from them before lowering his hand to his back once more. "You see, I know all about these specific codes and rules that spacers follow. I've learned the tell tale signs of just how smugglers and shippers operate across a variety of systems.

And, while I find your answers to be specific, character and ideal," he paused as he turned to face the other side of the room and make his way back to his previous position, his hand dragging along the table as he did so. "There are those that would consider otherwise. Especially given your apparent interest in this system as well as the conspicuous gravity of the coincidence you would be in this system at this particular time with such oddly specific log data."

Leaving a pause, his eyes trailing away for a moment to the guard who stood at the door before drawing back, he indicated with his hand for the Trandoshan to usher the girl back to her seat.

"You won't be going anywhere just yet, shipper," he mused as he waited for the guard to open the door and guide Vyra Silara Vyra Silara into the room and towards the chair he had placed near where he stood and had left untaken. "I still have someone else I'd like to speak with you while I observe."

Lori's nearly cocky demeanor was nearly lost as Mitth'rae'leios Mitth'rae'leios snapped his head to her. The colour of his eyes made it all the more unnerving, yet she clenched her jaw in an attempt to compose herself.

Her attention turned to the Trandoshan as it neared, just waiting to be grabbed. But then Thrael had it stop. Lori looked to the Chiss, mildly surprised to discover that he wasn't trying to get her to incriminate herself; yet instead he was studying her.

I'm not your lab rat, she wanted to say, yet refrained from doing so. Especially as she was made to sit back down again. "Haven't you ever heard of bad luck? Is there nothing that I can do that won't seem suspicious to you? I don't really think so..." Damned if I do, damned if I don't.

Lori looked to the door, expecting Vyra Silara Vyra Silara to walk in, remembering the earlier comment when she had mistaken the lady for another captive. She leaned back in her chair, noting Thrael's position, but also that of the guards andthe Trandoshan. Already her mind was scheming and plotting. If that door was kept open, she could very well make a run for it. The chair was a good weapon afterall. As was the table. She would just have to hope that she could run quick enough. Yet another thought occured to her; Thrael could easily surmise that she'd head for her ship. It could be that she'd have to get Arla to take the Sparrow, and steal one of their fighters herself.

"Can you boost the signal any, its like faint"

"Captain it's taken this long to get here I'm surprised there's any integrity left in the message. If it hadn't been for the bouncing and forwarding of the signal we would never have gotten it." The Communications officer kept trying to pull the message in to make it clearer.

Shaking his head, "it's the best I can do Captain, I'm not even sure this is a real message...its falling apart like it was splintered and fragmented through a system that was intentionally blocking it. It might not be real."

Theo stood quiet, "Find out who forwarded it, let's see how they got it." What if it was a hoax to pull in supporters to only shoot them like fish in a barrel. He wouldn't put it past anyone to do that. He wasn't sure that sending a few ships into the Unknown Regions be wise. But spreading the message THAT was worth something. But then if the message was a fake meant to draw supporters he couldn't do that. He'd have to vet the source first...if they could ever figure that out.

He watched the communications officer work.

Feth......what to do next.
