Rain, Rust, and Speed

Objective:
Galantos
Gal'fian'deprisi

Finding her way onto the planet knowing its was a known hang out for a band of pirates didn't make this trip any either. Today she had more of a mission then even what she was smuggling the cargo into the black market on the planet. Not that the shipment was very precious. That was the reason why she had with all her fiber to hire a merc to help keep this shipment safe.

Calling on her own context coming very highly in demand. Even then she would keep her distance, if anything just in her personality she had. Knowing they was to head to Galantos it was getting there that would be the fun part. Still now for this part of the trip to pick [member="Condor"] in not so nice place. Making sure that she had on old space clothing as she put on the wig and the mask in place.

It was the only way she could keep herself safe in a place like this full of the scum. It was then that she walked out her ship with a staff in hand. It was just one of many weapons on her under her over begging clothing.

After all she would be the one coming up to him. Now to wait in the place until this Condor would get there. After which time she would then taken him back to the ship, to get this show on the road. After all she would make this a trip not only to see a few credits in her own hands. It would also befit the Underground, but taking a look at some of the real-state that was now up for a going price.

Seeing him as she moved with slow pace as if she really was old and broken down, this would be the first test of many for this one to see if he was even worthy of her time or money.

"Buy an old woman a drink.", she said with a husky voice to mask just how young her voice really.

Galantos, a planet known for piracy, smuggling, and other illegal activities, was not where Condor wanted to be. Lawless planets like this were unnecessarily dangerous. Anytime, anywhere, you could find yourself on the wrong end of a blaster or with a vibroknife sticking out of your chest. It was imperative to be on high alert at all times, and after a while that just wore you down.

The only reason he was here was for the money. He'd been hired as a sort of guard for a smuggling operation, something a little outside of his expertise, but a mercenary always needed to expand his horizons. He was there to help a woman, [member="Alaina Merrill"]. He didn't know what she looked like, but he was told she would approach him.

He had his back against the wall of a pub, making sure that everything was in front of him. As he scanned, he could see a little old lady hobbling her way towards the pub. Rather than going in, however, she veered over towards him.

"Buy an old woman a drink," she croaked, eying him over. At first glance, she didn't seem harmless, but Condor knew better to accept her at face value. He scanned her over quickly, noting the bulges in her clothinf that betrayed some sort of weaponry. To protect herself, perhaps, but it could be a mugging. Identify a target, approach, see if they have credits, and then when they turn their backs, you kill them. If that could happen, then he had to assume it would. However, he didn't want to deny an old lady a drink.

"Sure, I have barely enough for one drink, so don't get too excited," he replied. It was a flat out lie, but he didn't want to appear to have too much money. He turned towards her, keeping one hand on his blaster and keeping her within his field of view. He gestured towards the bar with his free hand, waiting for her to take the lead.

Even down to her what appeared to be a toothless grin of hers, she put her hand out for a shake. "Good then glad I brought a few credits my own.", as she let go of his hand. Even then she didn't want to give away just who or what she looked like. Not for the time being for one, reason why she was here in the first place to set up or at less to some realities that could be used down the road for the underground staging point.

Only to make herself at home in a sit as she would wave for that drink, careful to not give away her youthfulness. Even so she would play along. Giving away with another toothless grin. After which she went o her side with her old well used data pad, it after all had to be the part down to all that was on her body but for her weapons. That laid hidden underneath. After which time she had to do something else first before taking him back to the ship.

"Well, sonny it seem I got, an appointment care to help the old woman out, I will pay while, then I'll take you to my mistress.", as she started to get up sending a message that she would be there shortly. It wasn't as if she couldn't send him back to the ship to wait but more then anything the part of the city she was going to wasn't the best for someone like herself to be going in along even as old woman beggar.

Accompany an old woman into the city? Not exactly what he'd had in mind when he came to Galantos, but she seemed to be hinting that she was in some way connected to his employer. If he was correct, it would be wise to follow her. After all, she did appear to be armed, so if it came to a shootout at least he'd have backup. He was eager to leave the bar anyway. The thick smoke was choking him, and the patrons were even dirtier than usual. Some of them might have just been walking piles of poodoo based on their smell alone.

"Sure, I'll tag along. I don't have much to do right now anyways," he muttered, sliding the barstool back under the counter and repositioning his gun. Everyone there was armed, so it wasn't a threatening move, simply a precaution. He gestured for her to get up as well.

"You'll have to lead the way, I'm afraid. I don't have a clue where you're headed." He was trying to be polite. He may have been a mercenary, but kicking little old ladies to the ground wasn't exactly his style. Plus, if she was connected to his client, then treating her with respect would probably be beneficial.

Giving him a nod as she would stay in these clothing until after the dealing was done after all one wouldn't be to careful now days could they. It only after some time did she make it the first stop. "Well, so you been doing this kind of gun thing long sonny." As she went on down the street all in her character.

"We are almost there.", after which she wanted to ask him more question. It wasn't as if he didn't trust this one but one now days couldn't be to careful with all the dark user running around to pretend that are on the good side of the force. It wasn't every day she was hiring those to do jobs with her. It just that this trip one could not know what they would get into so far into the core.

"So just listen and watch for anything that lurks in the condors," as she give him a side way glance. Just what was she there only she knows. Following a long darken street that now how the flickering of the lights on once in a while. It was a shame that this street had gotten so run down, but then again this was why she was here to take something cheaply or at less she hope so.

They headed down an alley, the end shrouded in darkness, while the lights flickered on and off slowly, creating an irritating lighting. There appeared to be nobody in the alley as of yet, save for a drunkard passed out at the entrance, surrounded by his own vomit and broken bottles. Obviously, he posed no threat, so they kept walking. Even in the middle of the day, the alley was still dimly lit at best, and every doorway was eclipsed by the frame. Condor carefully checked every one of them, making sure nobody was trying to ambush the two. No single hoodlum would try to jump someone like him, but a larger group would probably be able to do it. After all, he had no idea if this old lady had any enemies, or even if she was on his side. This could still be some elaborate trap.

Halfway down the alleyway, and he hadn't seen anything yet. Every few seconds he would check behind them, making sure that nobody was following them in. He could see the whole alleyway, and it was definitely a dead end. He kept on high alert, checking all of his surroundings carefully, waiting for somebody to jump out and start firing. At least he was getting well-compensated for this; it was probably taking a few years off of his life. In a way, it worse than actually being shot at. At least then he knew where the enemies were. Or if there were enemies. For all he knew, he could be worrying about phantoms, and this whole thing would go off without a hitch. He hoped it would be the case, but he highly doubted it.

A flickering in the window told Alaina that they had reach the end of their journey. Finding herself knocking as she called out. "Mrs. Jiggle here to see Mr. Anderson." as she let herself. Wait to be let in, after which the door closed quickly. Smiling with her toothless grin. After which she looked at [member="Condor"] taking her flat hand she patted his back side. This caused her to grin even more. Nice and firm if he only knew what she looked liked.

"Yes, sonny, lets get down to business.", as she looked at the older grey hair man sitting at the run down table. Putting her own hands upon the table. As she listen to him talk on a price for the piece of property that brought them to such a place like this.

"Now Now, look at me do I look as those I have that kind of credits, no 12k credits as we a greed, nothing more or less.", wave her one hand in front of the older man. That seem to be deep in thought, "Take the deal, you will not get another one.", as she was calm as she did it.

It didn't take long until after that that the deal was done. They was on their way.

"Its time to go to the ship." as she smiled the toothless grin.

Coming after a time not before she felt something in the force. Looking at Conder, "Hows your running legs, I think we going to need to run.", as she could feel three starting to close in on them. No doubt the other party that was wanting the piece of propriety. As she took off very fast faster then what and old woman should be able to sprint. "Keep up if you can."

It had disturbed him when the old lady had smacked his backside. Quite disturbing indeed. She was, what, 60 years older than him? Absolutely disgusting. What he endured for a large sum of credits he would never be able to figure out. The actual buying of the property, apparently what the old woman was there for, had gone off without a hitch. The woman and the seller had reached an agreement beforehand, or so it seemed. The credits were transferred, and they were off, back towards what Condor assumed was the location of the ship.

On the way back, the old lady seemed to sense trouble. She warned him that they needed to run, and he didn't doubt her. He doubted she would be able to run very fast, but that was her problem, not his. However, when she took off, his assumption was thrown out the window. She moved fast, much faster than an old woman should be able to. She was definitely several decades younger. This whole thing had been a ruse. He did not enjoyed being toyed with like this, but he had no choice but to follow the woman.

Despite her initial burst of speed taking him by surprise, he was able to catch up to her after only a short distance, his longer stride and years of training paying off. He kept his pace to be no faster than her's, not wanting to leave her in the dust. He needed to keep her alive. He assumed she was going to be the one supplying the credits, and he needed them badly.

[member="Alaina Merrill"]

Even if she wasn't one that had emphatic abilities could still see in his face that he wasn't to happen with the turn of event. Even so she push on even then putting her speed in the force to pull a head, as she then choose a path to zig zag. This bring them to another part of the city. "Up a head, lets us stop and hide there."

Ducking behind a old part of a building. Not stopping to catch her breath far from it. Call it street smarts, one like herself wasn't going to take a straight line towards her ship. Nope that would be a dump blonde thing to do. This causing her to wait, whisper, "Lets see if we lost who every was coming at us.", Having her guess that it was the one that he just made a deal with. Sensing back there that he wanted the whole pie for himself, that this may or may not been the first time he sold this piece of propriety to have it some how fall back into his hands again.

"I guess after we are in the clear again, I have a lot explaining to do.", giving him a some what of a stern nod with smile or what could be taken as a small smile. How much would she explain to him she wasn't even sure of that herself. Even so she couldn't help but look away from him looking her up and down to figure out just who was under there. This made her turn with a shy to her face with a blush of heat to come across her cheeks. One like herself would be a fool to think that he wasn't fair good looking.

Once she felt there wasn't anyone behind them or that she more then anything could feel with the minds going by that one was searching for something. After all she would then walked them slow back along where would lead to her ship, being unload, and reloaded with cargo. Thanking that there was always droids to see this part, after all it was flesh that couldn't be trusted. That brought back another question that flash a crossed her own mind could she trust him, maybe as far as she could throw a bantha, that right now wasn't very far. Who knew maybe time it would be different but for now it would be only need to know bits of information.

The "old woman" lead him off back towards another part of the city, smart enough not to go straight back to wherever her ship was. It was safe to say she wasn't old anymore. She ran too fast, and in her panic she'd ditched the rusty-door-hinge voice that she'd been using so far. She sounded quite young actually, probably around her early twenties if he had to guess. He didn't like the ruse, but he was far more concerned with keeping her alive than berating her for tricking him. He didn't know how many men were following them, but he was definitely well armed, enough so to probably take on at least three between his armor, weapons, and general expertise. These guys would most likely be thugs, not trained soldiers. Once their prey fought back, they would probably drop everything and run.

She apologized to him briefly, and he grimaced. Having a lot of explaining to do was an understatement. He was a straightforward guy, and he didn't appreciate tricks and traps like this. It was an insult to him to assume he couldn't be trusted, or at least that's what he gathered the disguise was for. He had a very good record as a mercenary, and the only way you could convince him to switch sides was by paying him at least double the original offer. He could tell they were heading back to the ship now, so he held his tongue. Better to wait until he saw who she really was before getting angry.

Smiling still they would be a few more turns and twist before coming to the space port again. Looking towards [member="Condor"] as she spoke now for the first time in a while. "Well, here she is not much to look at.", as she went to the ship that would be hers. Shaking her head as she headed up the ramp. After putting in the code and the DNA scan. Finding her way deeper into the ship until finding the a place for him to sit. "Wait here, there is a mini bar over there, help yourself." as she smile once more it be better when she got this out of her mouth." as she moved on through her ship. Towards her room to change. It wasn't a quick change but one that would take layers upon layers off.

"Now", saying to the mirror time to smooth out the one she had hired for the job at hand. Stepping out in simple looking outfit. Showing all that she was a younger looking lady, that had a figure with curves.

"Mr. Condor should we get down to business.", as walked over to grab herself a hot tea. "Would you like some Hot tea.", as she didn't drink when doing business.

As they entered the ship, Condor glanced around, taking in the surroundings. It wasn't a fancy ship, only furnished with what was needed. There didn't seem to be anyone else around, which confirmed the suspicions he had about the disguised woman being the owner of the ship. She invited him to the mini bar, but he wasn't really in a drinking mood. That was usually after some tough mission, not a property deal and a jog through the city.

She walked deeper into the ship, obviously to change out of her disguise, so he waited behind, relaxing on a chair and putting his guns aside. It was usually seen as rude to keep your weapons on hand in a more civil setting. He could see that this ship was used for smuggling quite frequently, which means he was on that side of the law again. Lovely.

Speaking of lovely, he could see the woman stepping out of her room now. She was a lot younger than he'd expected, around twenty years old. And quite beautiful. The outfit she was wearing was simple and practical, but still managed to show off her curves and legs. Maybe this mission wouldn't be as much of a bust as he'd thought it would be. Of course, they seemed to be far from done.

Feeling him look at her as if well as if she was something. Made her cheeks heat up like a hot twin sun on Tatooine never like ones looking like that. Even so she had to might what she saw of him, wasn't unpleasing to one eyes. This making her turn quickly with her back turn for the time not to see her own liking. All that a slide she had hire him to be by her side to do a job.

"I see you didn't make yourself a drink, I'm fixing me some Hot tea would you like some.", putting the water to boil. Even then she slowly turn to wait as she did.

"Now I guess you want to know just what I have hire you for, you see by that dealing, there sometime danger in buy run down places on planets, but its those planets that I need to get to the most to by up for a group I"m working for.", for now that was all she would tell about this group. After all who would tell a stranger there life story. After all they where still just he was a hire mercenary that could easy go to the highest payee when asked to betray. No she new more of the workings of these then she cared to think or remember.

Gathering her hair up into her hands to twist it then putting it into a bun. Giving nothing more a way but to wait on the hot water, before that getting down a cup then getting a tea bag of a lavender mint.

"Its Merrill, Alaina Merril, its good to have you on board.", Putting out the hand that didn't have a cup in to shake if he would have it.

[member="Condor"]

"Nice to meet you Mrs. Merrill. Name's Condor. Or Connor if you prefer. You probably knew that already," he said, giving her a firm handshake. He wasn't the bending-down-and-kissing-the-hand type. He treated female clients like he treated male clients. Handshake or nothing. "Oh, and no tea, thank you. It's a Settov Hammer or nothing, and you don't seem to have the ingredients stocked," he joked. He hated tea with a passion, and when he drank it was only a Settov Hammer. He should be in a damn commercial or something for all this publicity.

He'd assumed her business ran into some troublesome fellows, and judging by her statement, he was correct. Otherwise, there'd be no need for him. He'd only serve as company, and he would be highly incompetent at that. Too much time barking orders or relaying information and not enough time actually talking to people. Maybe it would be good for him.

He stretched out on the chair and relaxed. There would probably be a long hyperspace journey ahead, and he could use some sleep once they started. Their little stint in the city had left him a little tired from all the nerves, and there was no Hammer to ease him. Only the company of this employer, and no matter how interesting she might be, she'd be no match for a good Hammer.

[member="Alaina Merrill"]

Giving a small chuckle before the rose another small heat from her cheeks. "Oh, I'm not married, Connor,", she sat down to start to play with her tea bag for a few minutes. As she thought of the drink, she wasn't much into drinking. "As for this Settov Hammer ..thinking please tell me what Is needed I can see at our next stop if could pick it up..that unless we are chance again..", giving a light chuckle to try and make light of what just happen.

Putting down the string as she clapped her hands together. "So should we get you settle in for the trip.", she would get up after taking another sip. With a smile upon her lips, "this way, Connor", as let herself show the way to the other living quarters.

It would be a plain looking, with stander bunk and place to put personal belongings.

"So, well this do."
