Raid planning

Klesta

The King of Ergonomic Assessments
As part of the solutions outlined, we need to have a raid on some Mandalorian target up and running. Have anyone any idea as to the target of said raid?

I'd pledge one alt in it (probably Charzon), knowing that Klesta is probably ICly going to be busy on a state visit with the Supreme Chancellor.

What about a rescue mission to rescue trapped resistance fighters on a recently captured world?
Like Kashyyyk! :D

I kid. Could do a POW raid. Pull some Vietnam antics on Myrkr. Tis where we keep most of our POWs, especially the FUs.

[member="Reshmar"] Now that they have been lulled in a false sense of security, the whole invasion has slowed down quite a bit, especially for those on the beach. At the onset it seemed that I could change targets at will with impunity because PC-wise we were severely outnumbered, so long as said targets were on the beach.

It would appear that the Mandos seemed to go all-in early.

[member="Jessica Med-Beq"] iF by all-in early you mean posting 9 posts to every one of the Republic for the first 3 days then yeah sure. But they are still posting at least 5 to 1.

So the Mandos have won this invasion there is no doubt.

So per the rules
The following will be considered when judging an Invasion.
Teamwork. The amount of teamwork each faction exhibits over the course of the Invasion will contribute to victory, including its organization, cooperation with the faction's members, and how it executes its vision for the Invasion. This also includes members from opposing factions working with each other, rather than against each other, to provide entertaining role-play.
Story. Does it make sense? How exciting is it? Are the factions trying to weave a purposeful story or put up points on a scoreboard? This should not include the reason for the Invasion, but rather the story that proceeds once the Invasion has begun.
OOC Drama. Negative drama instigated by either side, publicly, can negatively impact a Faction’s chances for victory in an Invasion.
Entertainment. The value of entertainment provided by Factions in an Invasion can positively impact a Faction’s chances for victory in an Invasion.
Effort. The amount of effort put into the Invasion by each faction participating will positively impact that faction's chances for victory. This includes, but is not limited to - active writers participating, quality of writing, and responding to your writing partners in a reasonable time.

read that last one. Effort, It looks very bad when the faction starts new threads which involve the faction as a whole. Character threads are one thing but raids and large group threads where the faction is involved look bad when 2/3rds of the faction do not join the invasion. I get some people do not like invasions. that's cool but starting a faction thread in the middle of one basically looks like the faction doesn't care about defending the invasion.

the fact is I am only saying this because people come to me and ask why the GR is starting things when they won't reply in the Kashyyyk invasion. I honestly have nothing to tell them when they ask because I too have no Idea why. Support your faction people. Help in invasion or you won't have a faction left to defend.

Btw, thought I should mention. Myrkr is about as hostile to FUs as weight watchers is to Popo. In addition, you're hitting Clan Betna territory, so hopefully y'all are ready for some solid 'Nam RPing :p

[member="Popo"] hence elaine is not going, though would be nice if someone did a cull on that pest species you got there. :p

[member="Reshmar"] the invasion waiting on some people to post so I can post again. :)

I do not expect a mass response on either side until the invasion ends. It's clear that, while I was one of the few consistently active GR toons in it, both sides lost a few toons apiece. Nevertheless we can't let them invade us off the map - and unfortunately our lack of effort will result in just that. Plus the morale of the remaining players needs to be carefully monitored - losing a string of invasions to the same enemy WILL affect the morale of those players who remain.

[member="One-Eyed Jack Varren"] We need your help in two locations for the price of one: in the invasion on Kashyyyk and on Myrkr. Klesta is my alt, he'd agree to it on both counts ICly.

[member="Popo"] Suggesting that Myrkr would be the target was your idea in the first place...

Because honestly the invasion is super boring. There is nothing in that thread that even holds an inkling of my attention. It's just all, "the mandos descend with a million pcs and lay waste, lol roflstomp."

I don't see much story weaving from either side.

I think folks are tired of playing the score board game, plus a ton left the board.

Our focus imo should be on threading for story and fun to generate membership. If all we do is invasion threads, it gets mighty boring.

Also we definitely lost. I'm not upset about it, I'm not in a panic. Im just saying feth it and looking forward to the next thread.

Y'all wanted to raid for POWs, we use Myrkr as a prison planet. It was a suggestion, but it was also a case of giving you a location to try and succeed in the idea that you wanted to try.

In other words, you had a goal, I just pointed you in the right direction. :)
