Raid On Chazwa

[member="Tionne Thanewulf"]

Expecting common courtesy on a RP forum where people write stories as a hobby counts as complaining? Would it kill people to talk to the other side and work things out?

It probably would, huh :)

[member="Darth Veles"] Work what out?

Did Japs phone up the White house before they stormed Pearl Harbour?

No.

You people are so disorganized sometimes. Instead of rallying members of various ranks and organizing a counterattack, you have endless discussions about how this is unfair and that is unfair.

EDIT: I will be there this afternoon CET, god willing.

I know it might be hard to tell, but this isn't WW2, this is a roleplay forum. You know, where people write stories together? Collaborative writing? Since the players themselves are not at war (or, at least, shouldn't), is it too much to expect them to respect each other?

I guess it is, huh, seeing you divide your fellow players into "us" and "them" :)

It was a surprise counterattack against a surprise attack against corporations. If you say everything should have been discussed previously, then surprise-surprise, it's the Republic's fault everything is going on at the moment.

Let's just RP and have fun. After all, it's not an Invasion. It's a simple skirmish. Rally your troops, bring them into battle, write a story. It's not so difficult.

Respect is earned through roleplay. A good roleplayer responds IC to OOC decisions, even if he does not like them. Let me give you an example.

The Revenant killed Kaine Zambrano. OOC GA granted him rank of Jedi Marshall(which makes sense actually). Coren Starchaser left the GA, because he suspects The Revenant is a covert darksider. And now there is a new plot in development, one of distrust, betrayal and espionage. Some GA members will be involved, others will know nothing of it.
And guess what? There was no drama. Coren reacted IC perfectly in line with his character. So did The Revenant.
There is no drama. And I love it, despite the fact that my character will probably commit grand treason.

As for divisions, I divide roleplayers into two groups - people who are rank-obsessed(and usually do not post) and people who are here for the story. If you are here for the story, you will use every gorram opportunity to bring your character to the rank you've been given OOC. I've declined a Master promotion for Tionne since she is far from ready. But she will be, and taking part in your skirmish will be one step on that path.

Where you see lack of respect, I see opportunity.
Holler you allies and they will come. GR is not alone. ;)

Oooh! The sassy levels are off the charts in this thread!

Approved. Pending secondary.

It is fine to skirmish. Its not a complaint about that.
But, what is happening is that current events are ignored. The capital is not under GR control, the usurper [member="Geneviève Lasedri"] is controlling the capital with an army of clones. The senate is moving to another location and there is really no GR to fight where the Skirmish is taking place.

It simply does not make IC sense with this skirmish. But, go ahead if you want to. No law against it. I am just pointing out that due to poor pre planning this event crosses path with another event that the GR is trying to move ahead and this skirmish is sort of getting in the way and confusing people. Thats my concern.

I must whole heartedly disagree. The Sith and TU do not like the GR. They see the capital in turmoil and vulnerable at a time when the Republic as a whole is in upheaval, that is a perfect IC time to assault the capital.

Add in some outrage (real or imagined) about the "Republic" becoming anti-corporation and you even have a pretext.

I'm sorry, I usually stay out of all these OOC arguments, but there is something I have to address.

Why do people keep saying that the Republic capital is weak? How does having a whole army of trained, battle equipped clones on a planet make it weak? Because everyone is also at each others throats it is likely that all the troops are prepared for a battle, meaning mobilisation time will be minimal aswell.

This would actually be one of the worst times for the One Sith to attack.

Tip: Just rush the One Sith forces with a couple hundred thousands clones. Job done.

The point was to hit the usurper's throneworld like a bat outta hell. Its not ignored. Its the focal point here. But it is still the GR's capital and there are more than just her clones there.

We totally planned on hitting the dictator controlled throneworld.

I've posted in the main OOC thread, but its worth pointing out here that the current storyline was planned. As was an outcome - which due to circumstances had to be pulled forward to today.

And given the IC requirements of the story that was planned, it will have to happen before the skirmish. Does that mean the skirmish shouldn't go ahead? Of course not, the board rules don't have to say you agree to be attacked.

But the line about it being a dictator controlled throne world will have to be amended. A minor point - but worth noting. But I could time it so my thread happens just before the attack? I'm open to do that.

Just let me know and let the skirmish go wild :)

I understand, but it caused lots of unnecessary agony. Folk felt hammered and the intentional plot will now be diminished.

Whats done is done. I wish those involved happy writing.
