"It is good to meet you, Ghruna." He stood up then, lifting the blade from the ground so it wasn't just sitting there. It was bad enough he'd set an unsheathed blade on the floor, and he was very much feeling the anxiety of it. "Do you want to be a Sith?"

Ghruna Ghruna

She rolled her eyes. Her tail gave an irritated flick.

"Is this another trap? Get my blood going and then see where my loyalties are?"

She was immediately suspicious again. Part of her hoped it wasn't the truth. She wanted to feel some connection to anyone.

"Genuine curiosity. My father was made to be Sith when he didn't want to be because of who his father is. It's a weight for my people. I'm curious if it's the same for you and yours." Aris offered a shrug as he turned to put the blade away.

"If it's upsetting we don't need to speak on it more."

Ghruna Ghruna

"Oh."

Ghruna's blood was hot. She quickly switched from feeling angry at Aris to embarrassed at the way she had snapped at him.

"It is not upsetting. I am not delicate."

She felt exhausted, however. Her shoulders in particular burned.

"We lost many of the ways of the Sith," Ghruna explained. "I will learn them again so that I can become strong. And then teach my people as we leave our planet and expand."

"An apprentice to a Jedi. It never hurts to learn more."

A more passive smile formed as he watched Ghruna. Passive, emotionless, hard to read. In truth he was trying to give a genuine, welcoming smile, but he still wasn't the best at properly showing emotion.

There was something unnerving about her smile. Ghruna could not quite put a finger on it.

It was not an offer she had expected. Even if he couldn't read the way her tail moved - something she was grateful for - it was obvious in her posture.

Her thoughts turned slowly. It was a chance she could take to escape, she told herself. She could learn about her father's enemies. It made it easier for her to swallow the thought that she would much prefer to be fighting this strong and skilled human than wasting away in a small cell.

She crossed her arms over her chest and stepped closer. Uncomfortably close. She visibly sniffed the air. Committing scent to memory was important.

"You would teach me to fight? I do not want lectures."

"I want to teach you how to be a Jedi. There would be lectures, though I'd rather not focus on having you sit somewhere listening to them. You would have to put in the effort, in exchange. No fighting without my permission for the time being. Listening to what I say when it comes to interacting with others. It will be uncomfortable and obnoxious at times, but you will learn what it means to be a Jedi."

He paused for a moment, watching her as she sniffed him. He was perhaps obnoxiously calm, but her sniffing at him had a brow raise. No questions, just his eyebrow raised up.

"What are your opinions?"

Ghruna took a step back, moving outside of his personal space. Her arms remained crossed over her chest.

"I do not know," she said firmly.

It was not going to be learning through combat. And it came with stipulations.

"What does ob-nox-cious mean?" Ghruna asked. "Is it this or back in the cell?"

"Annoying. And yes." Blunt truth. He had no desire to lie or manipulate. "I can't let you go. But I'd like to show you what a Jedi is first hand. My people learned that being Sith or Jedi don't matter, so long as we're true to who our people are."

"I would get a room?" she asked quickly. "Some privacy?"

"And a change of clothes and a hot shower."

Ghruna frowned again. It was an expression she wore easily. She was not built for deep thinking.

His words made sense, but words often did.

They could not change who she was at heart by teaching her things.

"Who were your people again?" she asked.

Perhaps they could be allies for her father. Would Jedi knowledge and a culture that could fight beside them raise her in his expectations.

She studied him for a moment. She would value some privacy. It felt like being placed on display in that cell.

Ghruna probably couldn't escape that annoying little glow lamp that had trapped her, but she could suffer that.

This seemed a low risk choice. If she got to take her own room and shower and change, she could still change her mind in the morning and go back to the cell refreshed.

"We can fight again soon?" she asked. "I will not try and escape. Not unless it is made far too easy."

"Much of the training will be done through us fighting." He had no misconceptions that she'd be willing to learn what it was to be a Jedi through seated lessons and books. But perhaps she'd be able to see the strength that jedi had compared to the Sith, how different they were. "I'll put in the paperwork. If you'd like to do something else in the meantime though, let me know."

Ghruna Ghruna

"Anything else?" she went.

Her voice had lifted half an octave.

"No... There is nothing else I need. I...er..."

Ghruna gave a sharp nod and crossed her arms over her chest.

"Colette and the colourful one got my food brought to me."

"Back to the... Er... Cell? Oh! Weights. Could I have weights?"

Ghruna let out a soft sigh. She rubbed the back of her neck. A little more space and a hot shower had sounded appealing.

Being captured by enemy trickery, she thought to herself, probably deserved some discomfort.

For all her attempted bravado, she was glad that they were not trying to torture secrets out of her.

'Very well, "she said, a little too sharply. "Back to the cell then."
