Intent: To create a mass produced, medium tank for purchase and use by interested third parties.
Development Thread: N/A
Manufacturer: Tenloss Corporation
Model: R-10 Medium Tank
Affiliation: Open Market
Modularity: Yes. This vehicle is highly modular and is able to be upgraded with most, if not all, known and available vehicular upgrades. Tenloss also plans on releasing "upgrade" packages for the design in the future.
Production: Mass Produced
Material: Durasteel alloy, depleted uranium, armorweave anti-spalling layer, and other vehicle construction materials.
Description: Yet another top notch product by Tenloss, the Reliant class tank embodies mechanical reliability, ease of production, and simplistic maintenance. Cheap and easy to produce and easily the most reliable tank on the field, the R-10 is one of the most popular models Tenloss Produces, rivaling that of the Skocha.
While lightly armored when compared to most heavy tanks used today, the Reliant makes up for this with a hard hitting kinetic cannon using explosive or armor piercing shells. While antiquated, the "old fashioned" slug thrower cannon needs no power to fire and the shells are free from the dangers of EMPs allowing the tank to continue to engage in such situations. The kinetic shell also bypasses the ray shielding of most enemy vehicles and effectively impact against the weak points in enemy designs and armor. Three repeating blasters round out the offensive capabilities and give the tank the ability to engage lightly armored and infantry targets on the field.
Fast and agile, the Reliant is able to keep up with most other vehicles on the field and rapidly move to where it's needed most. The engine is of simple design and uses solid fuel power packs to keep the tank moving and engaging. While this means that the tank faces changes of the power packs at regular intervals, it prevents catastrophic damage should the engine become damaged or destroyed in the field.
The vehicle is also highly reliable and mechanically durable, featuring redundant parts that are easily replaced in the field. The crew compartment is far from cozy, but is crew friendly and able to be sealed for zero atmosphere or to prevent biological contamination of the crew.
The Reliant has it's downfalls, however. The lack of substantial armor makes the tank vulnerable to heavy fire and the use of tracks instead of repulsors renders it susceptible to ground based mines. The gun, while powerful, has a hard time engaging heavy enemy armor and the shells it uses are prone to sympathetic detonation if damaged.
