PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS Rémiel is, by most measures, a complicated individual. On one hand, there is little he loves more than himself and the steady accumulation of credits. On the other, he holds a genuine respect and admiration for his homeworld its harsh history, its traditions, and the people who continue to call Savareen home.
STRENGTHS
Charismatic
As both a senator and an active figure in the daily operations of his family’s distillery, Rémiel has cultivated a refined and persuasive manner of speech. He knows how to read a room, adjust his tone, and guide conversations toward outcomes that favor him.
Blaster Training
In his early years, Rémiel was sent to serve with the local planetary defense force for basic training. There, he discovered both an aptitude for blaster use and a genuine fondness for firearms, skills he continues to maintain.
WEAKNESSES
Flirtatious Nature
While his charm can be an asset, Rémiel’s tendency toward flirtation has landed him in more than one precarious situation, often creating complications where discretion would have served him better.
Untrained in the Force
Though Force-sensitive, Rémiel lacks any formal training or guidance. As a result, he is unable to consciously access or utilize these latent abilities in any meaningful way.
HISTORY
Growing up on Savareen was no easy life. A harsh world defined by vast oceans, rolling deserts, and scattered settlements, it was a place that hardened those who lived there for more than a few rotations. For the Durevant family, however, adversity became opportunity. Savareen’s most valuable export its alcohol, particularly the famed Savareen Brandy became the foundation of the family’s rise. Decades before Rémiel’s birth, the Durevants transformed themselves from modest seagrape farmers into the proprietors of a respected distillery with thriving off-world trade, elevating their name and influence in the process.
Rémiel spent his early years groomed to one day inherit and oversee the family business. That future seemed all but assured until a scandal involving a local heiress threatened to drag the Durevant name into public scrutiny. To remove him from rumor and view, his family arranged for him to be sent into planetary defense force basic training.
Upon completing his service, Rémiel found himself drawn not back to the distillery, but toward politics. Though the ruthless nature of senate proceedings and the endless tangle of bureaucracy initially gave him pause, he ultimately embraced the challenge. In his own mind, if someone was going to brave that viper’s nest in defense of Savareen and its people, there was no reason it shouldn’t be him.
