SPECIAL FEATURES:
  • Versatile and customizable frames allow for starship designers and engineers to tailor-make their designs, with almost unlimited configurations possible.
  • Incredible resilience and protection ensures that ships will be durable, with internal systems sheathed to resist various types of damage.
STRENGTHS:
  • Ship’s Core Systems are safely housed within the frame, offering excellent protection against EMP/Ion, kinetic damage, low-grade radiation, and more.
  • This interior sheathing has the added benefit of allowing core systems and networking to exist without consuming valuable space aboard, and enabling interior layouts to be customizable by virtue of the ‘plug-and-play’ design versatility inherent to this frame.
  • Frames can be configured for virtually any size, type, or class of ships and to accommodate designer’s needs and desires through customized manufacturing.
WEAKNESSES:
  • Every starship frame is made custom to designer’s specifications, making each one ‘unique’ and therefore replacements or duplicates are difficult to acquire, and almost always require time to be produced, making expedient repairs difficult to say the least, particularly on distant worlds.
  • Interior sheathing makes core systems’ malfunctions much more difficult to isolate and repair should significant damage or disabling occur, and requires trained technicians to perform the complex and time-consuming diagnostics and maintenance necessary.
  • The Quintessence Starship Frame, while incredibly resilient, is not impervious to damage and significant damage to the vessels such as crash landings, excessive combat damage, major accidents, or other similar issues can lead to ship-wide outages and malfunctions to one or more onboard systems.
DESCRIPTION:

Mimicking a biological skeleton and nervous system, the Quintessence Starship Frame is wildly versatile, limited only to the imagination and needs of designers and engineers. Able to be produced for any size, type, or class of ship, and to permit any interior configuration required, the Quintessence is a tough, resistant, and adaptable frame.

Lightweight materials are exceptionally resistant to various types of damage. Durable and strong, the Quintessence is capable of supporting a variety of hull materials, design configurations, and shaping, making a fine choice for a broad range of ship types. Instead of using layered materials like other starship frames now in use across the galaxy, the creation of Enduroplast provided a single material with protean applications, able to be adapted to a broad field of uses. Environmental shielding and extreme protection of the interior power network contained inside of it, coupled with the durability, longevity, and resilience of the Endurplast sheath safeguards core systems against the dangers of spacefaring quite well. Even strikes by concussion missiles, asteroid collisions, or full-blown ramming by other ships prove difficult to harm or disrupt these systems. Yet, if damage does occur, the difficulty to repair it makes it all but impossible to do away from dedicated shipyards and teams of expert technicians, and if replacement is required, the process can be lengthy to say the least due to the customized and unique nature of each frame.

I have been thinking this over for a hot minute. You mention quite often its ability to be durable, and protection against various weapon types. I'd like to see the usage of the "Armor" Template with the resistances to be added. If this was just a frame itself and was more of a "lore" piece, then I would have been fine. However, I feel its riding the line between the two.

And as you mention, its the frame, with some serious weaknesses of being damaging to the ship should the frame be damaged?

I'd rather stay on the safe side for you. lol
