Jonyna had taken the last 9 months to herself. The revelation of her surprise pregnancy had meant she no longer had the luxury of getting involved in the Alliance's war. Instead, she still ran the Wild Space Rebellion from home.

Home.

That was a concept she had always struggled with, even if most wouldn't notice. To those who knew her casually, one would assume home was Cathar. Jonyna often wouldn't shut up about it, after all. To those who knew her closer, one might assume home was her ship. The Reaper.

But to those who she truly considered friends, they knew the truth.

Valery Noble Valery Noble could tell you. Corazona von Ascania Corazona von Ascania could. Jasper Kai'el Jasper Kai'el could.

Jonyna didn't have a home. She'd always been a wanderer. Cast out by destiny in favor of those who history remembers. Farmboys who's fathers were more impressive. Smugglers who stumbled into heroism. Princesses who helped the galaxy heal.

And jedi of great renown.

Jonyna herself, had never been that. Always a shadow in hiding, striking imperials and sith when it mattered, but rarely taking the spotlight. That was Val's job. She was the poster girl of the NJO. Jonyna was certain now that with the Empire rising again, her time on the Jedi Council would be remembered as yet another period of decline. Yet another time the jedi were a victim of their own hubris. yet another time of darkness.

The last few months, Jonyna had mused on that. Meditated on it with her mother, whom she increasingly felt like she was becoming. Yet another jedi exiled from a fallen order.

But with the triplets born, Jonyna knew one thing.

She wasn't too old to be a rebel.

That's what led her to standing out in the savannah of Cathar, practicing her craft. Sword and saber in hands, in the middle of a kata. Who would she find out here? Who would find her? Who knows.

One day, the galaxy would need her again. For now though, she would keep training.

If there was one thing that Sindar had heard of Cathar, it was that it was unforgiving. The sun was broiling him in his armor, and he had long since had to discard his helmet. Now though, he was finally getting to see the savannah's of the world that birthed his race. In the distance he could see it, one of the city trees, the shining beacon of civilization in a place renowned for savagery.

The Sith Trooper wasn't here to cause trouble, only to reconnect, to find himself. What he didn't know, is that he was walking through the fields that were overseen by the Si family. This was their land, and he was an intruder! So long as he laid low, there was little chance he would be accosted.

The only true issue was the black and red armor he had covering himself, the dark hues standing out like a sore thumb in the elephant grass. As he trampled a path through the high blades, there was a sense of being watched he couldn't seem to shake. Like eyes that rode upon the wind, he couldn't evade that feeling.

That sixth sense was like his spirit reaching out to something, an energy he had no idea he could access. Sindar was sensitive to the force, though he had no idea of that sensitivity. In battle it usually manifested in a minor precognition, now though, it only allowed him an unending paranoia.

<I can see you, by the by.> Jonyna spoke in her native tongue, sensing the fellow Cathar near her. Then again, it didn't take much to distinguish the body shape under all that armor. Denik had a unique shape that no amount of armor could truly hide if you knew it well. <Come out, or else I'll have to kick you out myself. It's not wise to intrude on the land of the Sage of The Denik.>

Jonyna wasn't looking for a fight today. Not today, at least. The rebel master was only looking to train, and if this fellow cathar clad in sith colors was willing to join her peacefully, then she'd allow it. If not?

She wasn't unwilling to fight today...

That sixth sense of Sindar's was rarely ever wrong, and he turned on a dime when that voice cut through the air. Unsurprisingly, it was a lady Cathar, and quite the example too! Not every day he saw a fellow Denik, let alone their apparent leader. Though he wouldn't expect a sage to be dressed in such a way, to each their own on that front...

<Well it's good to see someone out here all this way. I haven't had to speak the mother tongue since... Well a long while.>

Sindar crossed his arms, swishing his tail as a he looked Jonyna over. The way he spoke Cathar was clumsy, like he barely understood the language he was speaking. As he looked over her, his gaze was incredulous, he hadn't met another Denik in the wild before! Something about Jonyna calmed him though, reminding him of better times.

"You know, Lithka, you don't much look like a sage to me... Ya look more like a Jedi, something about you just screams do-gooder. I am not looking for trouble though, just trying to find my place in the galaxy."

His basic was much more confident, but he had a much different accent. It was less rural in inflection, more dry and tough sounding. Something about how he spoke Cathar seemed more "real" like he wasn't putting on a show...

"Name's Sindar Malik, used to be I was part of the GA as special forces. Not that it matters much now. Sith took everything I had and pressed me into service. Now I'm here to hopefully find a place to rest my head..."

Jonyna couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. Not just at his awful Catharese, but his armor. "They took everything from you, and yet you still wear their colors. If you need some other clothes, I suggest you ask nicely." She said simply, before turning back to her kata.

"Not often other cathar have the balls to call their tribe's sage sexy right off the bat, I'll give you that. And yes, I am a jedi. You've never been back to Ran Dom Kuun, have you?"

They took everything from you, and yet you still wear their colors.
"The Sith colors keep the right people from bothering me, but you make a good point. I could use something that looks less...intimidating."

Sindar then chuckled, following Jonyna deeper into the jungles of their homeworld. He realized most didn't flirt with the sage, probably best he cover his bases then. Though, he had to admit there wasn't a side of her that looked bad. He meant what he'd said, but that was mainly because it'd been quite a while since he met a Cathar of the opposite gender.

"Well, like I said before, you don't look like a normal sage now do you? I can't say I imagine most sages could wrestle their way out of a Kiltik nest. I do respect the title though."

Something about being in the midst of the jungle felt right, like he'd finally found the place he'd been searching for. For once his mind was at ease, not bothered by the thoughts of what the Sith had done to him. Now it felt like he was finally recovering!

"Being honest, I've never been to any city trees on the homeworld. I was born off-world and was raised in a city. Sights like this are rare where I come from."

Jonyna couldn't help but smirk at his forwardness. "How would you know what a sage dresses like if you were born offworld? It's funny to me, when I was growing up, the Denik were all here, still recovering under the Republic. I may not look it, but I'm much older than you realize. Take a suggestion from an old hag? Ditch the sith gear, join the rebellion. You ever earn your tats? Take the blood hunt?"

To Jonyna, such rituals were sacred to her people. Off-worlders of her kind often had to adapt such rituals to the world they were on, or worse, abandon them.

Doing so was a thought Jonyna couldn't bear.

Sindar looked towards the horizon as if the answers to Jonyna's questions were written there. The small Cathar enclave in Echnos largely gave up blood hunts. However, he had not entirely forgotten of the concept. He stopped, removing the left sleeve of his armored suit. There, on the inside of his large bicep, was the emblem of the Galactic Alliance. Above the emblem was the word "Honor" and the word "Courage" below. Both were written in traditional Cathar script.

"I got this tattoo after my first raid in the GADF as a commander. I used to lead a team of Marine Raiders in the Defense Force. It wasn't a traditional hunt, but I think it largely meets the criteria for getting a tattoo."

Cathar were a primal people, strong and rooted in traditions. Those traditions were sacred to them, and not even Sith torture could take those away. Above all things, they had their pride. Sindar was no different from them, he kept that pride no matter where he served.

"But you want me in a rebellion? Chit... I don't know," Sindar said, not able to look Jonyna in her eyes. He couldn't commit to another force in the galaxy, he'd just escaped a penal legion. Yet, something was tugging at him, his heart knew what was right!

"I just got done fighting a war, both sides of it. I've seen so much, lost even more," He stopped, before raising his view to once again meet The Sage's bright blues. "I want a place to belong, to heal. But the galaxy could use some heroes..."

"Trust me, I know the feeling. I just lost the order that made me feel safe in the galaxy after a 900 year ice nap. But..." She paused, looking off to the horizon, Ran Dom Kuun slowly poking out.

"I always think about it like this. If we just hide away, let someone else deal with the problem, one day it'll be our home burning again. I put a lot of faith in others, but...not for something this big. If I can do something about it, if I can inspire others to, then why wouldn't I? Is that not the obvious choice? And one day, one day I'll rest. When the work is done"

Ran Dom Kuun looked just as picturesque as he imagined it, stories of the city trees didn't do justice. He'd never seen anything quite like it, the majesty of the settlement was second to none! This was no time for sightseeing though, he was meeting with a Jedi after all! One who seemed to have big plans for the galaxy!

"People like us, Master Jedi, are not really allowed to get a rest. We're doers, people who run toward danger. Never enough of us around when things hit the fan..."

It was a common problem, too many problems with a lack of solutions. Jonyna definitely knew what he was talking about, she seemed to be very experienced in these sorts of things. Being a Jedi, she had probably fought things Sindar could never understand. He could almost sense the emotions radiating off the female Cathar. Maybe he should say something about that, come to think of it.

"I agree with you though, we can't just sit back and coast while the galaxy goes to Hell. I know I won't anyway," He said, looking at Jonyna with a fire in his eyes.

A smirk played at his lips, one full of mischief and satisfaction. He was starting to understand this strange sage of his species. She may have been a bit thorny on the outside, but she was a wise woman at the end of the day.
"Beauty and brains, probably plenty of brawn too? You're the total package babe! This galaxy won't stand a chance..."

Jonyna let out a snort. Of course.

"I'd like to think so."
She said, twirling for emphasis. "I can't help it, ya know. Being too hot to handle." Even in her 30s, she was still a flirt. "Too bad being sexy can't solve the galaxy's problems. That's what my lightsabers are for. What about you? Now that you're free from the sith, what's the plan for a lone Denik?"
