General behavior: Despite their own respectable size (for an avian), the Qiknal is not especially brave; this unsteadiness disappeared in some of them after they began to populate some of the cities unbidden. Those in the wild remain flighty, for although the number of those that predate upon them have dwindled, their cowardliness remains ingrained in their minds. They do happen to be a rather curious lot, and have been known to collect random objects from civilized areas, sometimes harmless, sometimes dangerous. Those born in the cities have actually managed to steal things right off of some of the civilians, and even taken small pets from those unsuspecting.
History: Qiknal, like the Ijunkai, are natural inhabitants of the planet, themselves coming from an ancestor both corvine and cathartine. They always have and always will be cowards at heart, something ingrained into their genes since the existence of the Aesomtil. With the advent of civilization, the Qiknal found an unwitting (and in many cases, unwilling) aide in their survival, and now a great deal of them, about a third of their worldwide population, crowd themselves behind city walls. There are a number of citizens who do appreciate their ability to keep some of the larger pests under control, although the locals would consider one foolish not to keep one’s belongings in a secure bag or case when strolling about.
Notable Player-Characters: None
Intent: To create a fun parrot-like bird to inhabit Deleritas and possibly provide a new pet for the board.
