GENERAL INFORMATION
Name: Qaldan
Designation: Sentient
Homeworld: Unknown
Language: Qaldi, Galactic Basic
Average Lifespan: 350 yrs
Estimated Population: Scattered
Description: At first glance, one would assume the Qaldani were an aquatic race. They appear hairless, with streamlined features found on many aquatic and amphibian races. Their nasal cavity is fairly short, with no pronounced formation found on many near-human races. Likewise, their ears lack much of the external form that near-humans have as well, instead there is a nodule where the ear is. Their hands have three fingers, one of which is an opposable finger similar to a human thumb. Their skin can range from a mottled green through the blue and violet ranges to a near black.

PHYSICAL INFORMATION
Breathes: Type I
Average height of adults: 1.85 meters
Average length of adults: N/A
Skin color: Mottled Green, Mottled Blue, Mottled Violet, Mottled Black
Hair color: N/A
Distinctions: The pattern of mottling, along with skin color and subdermal bone structure can be used to tell individuals apart.
Races: N/A
Strengths:
-Zero Gee Adaption: Stemming from life aboard ships and stations, the Qaldani are highly agile creatures, especially in instances where gravity is not present.
-Kinesthetic Sense: The Qaldani have also adapted a heightened kinesthetic sense, and are able to sense movement near them naturally. Some of the most sensitive can even sense tiny variations in the movement of a ship or station.
Weaknesses:
-Filtered Life: A race that was born and raised for the past few generations aboard ships and stations, the Qaldani are highly susceptible to issues stemming from particulate matter in the air, and will find it progressively more difficult to breathe as the air quality goes down.
-Bone Structure: Due in large part to life aboard ships and stations, the Qaldani have a weaker bone structure than the average life form in the galaxy, making them more susceptible to bone breakages and severe bone injuries and ailments.

CULTURE
Diet: Typical diet, though they are more susceptible to inhalant and digestive poisons.
Communication: Vocal and hand sign are the most common.
Technology level: Galactic Standard
Religion/Beliefs: N/A
General behavior: Almost all Qaldani are born aboard a ship or station, so their behaviors tend towards those that would benefit such an environment. They have less of a sense of privacy, often living communally. Education usually takes place in a hands on manner, with children rotating between sections of a ship or station until they reach maturity and can choose a profession.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Long ago, the Qaldani had a home world. Records of that time are badly corrupted, or missing vital information. Many believe it was an oceanic paradise, as their biology would suggest such an origin. However, it has been many generations since the Qaldani called anything but a ship or station home. Both their culture and biology have adapted to closer confines, variable gravity, and controlled environments.

Qaldani are not a large population, but neither are they unheard of. Many form small communities on stations in populous systems, or live and work as merchant ships and haulers. Few have settled on planets, as their cultural memory tends to equate bad things happening when many Qaldani live down a gravity well.
