OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Media Name: DIVA
  • Format: Music Album
  • Distribution: Common
  • Length: Short
  • Description: The self-titled first album of DIVA, who would go on to become arguably the most famous Pylantian band of the current century. It is considered a classic of Pylantian pop music and even achieved interstellar fame, with the hit single "Starbird" charting at #3,752 on the Galactic Top 40,000. DIVA is notable for being the first Pylantian musicians to make serious use of synthesizers, which were then considered more of an offworlder novelty than a legitimate musical instrument.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Author: DIVA
  • Publisher: Ambrose Studios
  • Reception:
    • "It's alright. A bit overrated. DIVA Dance is probably one of the most overplayed songs ever." - Xerchitul Gargula, Pylantian civilian
    • "Their species is an abomination. Good music though." - Col. Quaritch, human supremacist
    • "Very nice." - Glup Shitto, music critic
FORMAT INFORMATION

DIVA was released on a variety of digital platforms. Limited edition physical copies of the album were also produced for collectors. Holomusic videos were produced for three of the album's singles: "Starbird", "Utopia", and "DIVA Dance".

The music video for "Starbird" was animated. Often associated with the wonder and terror of first contact, the starbirds of the title are shown literally, arriving on Pylos from the night sky and dazzling the natives before departing in a blaze of fire. "Utopia" had similar symbolic imagery in its MV, depicting a fictional futuristic society full of amazing technology which enabled its people to live in seemingly endless happiness and harmony. The showcase was on the creatively designed gadgets featured in the short. "DIVA Dance" had a more traditional music video, with the members of the band performing onstage with choreography and pyrotechnics.

  • Description: [ Provide a description of this structure at a glance. More in-depth descriptions can be added in points of interest. ]
POINTS OF INTEREST
[ What areas within the structure are significant? Give a description of each point listed. ]

SECURITY
[ Provide a Security Rating (choose from: None, Low, Medium, High, Maximum) and any specific security assets in list format. What defenses does this location have, including internal and perimeter defenses? Please note that the rating is relative to the type of location this is. Normal civilian structures have a different scope in security, compared to military bases. As such a civilian structure with a Maximum security rating is not on the same level as a military base with a Maximum rating. A civilian structure with a Maximum rating could be the seat of a planetary government, or the headquarters of an inter-galactic corporation. Private security, alarms, perhaps even a defensive shield, but they should not have entire armies within or enough armament to destroy a fleet above. Please link rare or uncommon tech/equipment to the SW wiki article or Factory-approved submission. Common canon items do not need to be linked. ]

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
[ Include a description on the structure's history here. Detail how it came to be created and why. Talk about the people involved in this structure's history and what role it played and still plays. For historical structures, if you so desire, you can include historical events from the Chaos Canon timeline or board history where appropriate. ]

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Media Name: Innocence Lost
  • Format: Poem
  • Distribution: Planetary
  • Length: Medium
  • Description: Deriving inspiration from sacred texts, Innocence Lost is a poem recounting the Pylantians' first contact with the galaxy in a metaphorical, religious context. Moving the action to a prehistoric, mythical era, it depicts the explorers who arrived on Pylos Satnik as evil entities who come to Pylos Satnik with malicious intentions. Disgusted by the native Pylantians, they target a young Pylantian couple who are prophesied to become the founders of a new nation. After killing the female, the entities deliberately mislead the grieving male into believing they are benevolent, offering him various gifts to win his favor with the intent of taking control of the planet. The male eventually grows wise to their manipulations and banishes them, but laments the loss of his innocence and the altered future of the world.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Author: Anonymous
  • Publisher: The poem was first distributed on the campus of Nusquama College by members of a local baking club. When questioned, the club members claimed they had discovered a copy of the poem in one of their dorm rooms.
  • Reception: Achieving massive popularity on Pylos Satnik, the poem has drawn criticism from progressive Pylantians as well as some offworlders who see it as xenophobic propaganda. "While it obscures its meaning in religious symbolism, Innocence Lost is undoubtedly about first contact, particularly the tragic death of the farmer's daughter at the hands of the frightened explorers," remarked critic Glup Shitto. "The poem paints the explorers and the galaxy at large as vicious boogeymen from outer space, arriving on Pylos Satnik for the express purpose of corrupting and consuming it. It even goes so far as to suggest that the Pylantians would be better off having never been exposed to the wider galaxy. Are we to believe that access to superior technology, knowledge, food and goods with the power to save billions of lives is nothing compared to the loss of a single family in a moment of panicked surprise?" Others found the poem effective in depicting the confusion, fear, and grief surrounding first contact, a collective trauma which was stifled and swept under the rug in the name of peaceful coexistence. And of course, there are those who agree with the author—that first contact is perhaps the worst thing to ever happen to the Pylantians as a species, and that they would all be better off if they had never lost their innocence.

EVENTS
[ Unlike the old Chronicles template, the Events format is not considered an unbiased account with an end-all conclusion. Multiple narratives can be formed. Different perspectives and sides. ]
  • Event Name: First Contact on Pylos Satnik
  • Links: [ If these events happened actively in RP threads, include any applicable links here. ]
  • Participants:
    • Shuma Gorath - Pylantian male, farmer.
    • Saya Gorath - Pylantian female, Shuma's teenage daughter.
    • Crew of the Lovecraft
  • Overview: "Instead of the diplomatic meeting they had hoped for, it took the place of a crashlanding in a remote region. Before the government could respond, a family of farmers approached the crashed vessel, having mistaken it for an experimental airship of some kind. The first few seconds of contact were peaceful but as the male farmer was joined by his daughter, the humanoid spacers panicked and opened fire."
