- The AT-EMAP has six extremely prehensile tentacles attached to the “head” portion. These tentacles can have all sorts of items attached to them, ranging from sensor equipment, to utility saws, to speakers.
- The AT-EMAP is very good at climbing difficult terrain, such as cliff sides, thanks to its prehensile legs and tentacles, and even if one falls, it will almost always land on its feet.
- Terrifying: The AT-EMAP is very unsettling in its movements, and many organic soldiers are much more afraid of it than they would be of similar vehicles.
- Tentacles: The AT-EMAP’s six tentacles are very versatile, and mean the vehicle can be used for many different roles.
- Tall: The AT-EMAP is tall enough to reach places similar walkers would not, giving it an advantage.
- Getting Up: If toppled, the AT-EMAP takes a while to right itself. This allows the opposition to inflict some serious damage with minimal risk.
- Slow: The AT-EMAP is rather slow, which can result in a number of problems.
The AT-EMAP was designed to act as a versatile battlefield vehicle for the Pyke Syndicate. They are manufactured on the planet Mon Gazza, in the relatively recently built industrial sector of the planet. There are many of these vehicles stationed on Pyke controlled planets, such as Kessel and Troiken, where they defend strategic locations, and destroy anyone who objects to Pyke rule.
In design, the AT-EMAP was based off of some Imperial Era walkers, but incorporates several unique elements. For example, the legs are operated using electromagnetic technology instead of hydraulics, giving them more smooth and gliding movements. This seems to unsettle many organic species, but the Pykes do not share this sentiment. This makes them very useful as both terror weapons, and population controllers.
