Pushing the limits

In her small quarters the young Chiss Ashra’syle’nuruodo practised her skills, it had been awhile since her master had come to see her and grant training but she was more than ready and certainly eager to learn more. Without guidance she was spending her time developing a set of movements for lightsaber combat that she was comfortable with. She had started off gifted but with all the practise she was becoming quite good at it. She had also been working on her stamina, pacing her use of the gifts of the gods so she could last longer in combat.

Stepping out of her quarters sweating a little bit the Chiss started out to the edge of the compound where she began running laps around the temple grounds. Asylen was determined to be the best she could be for the gods even if her master wasn’t going to spend any time with her training her properly she would be ready for the next time she was called upon to serve.

In actuality, it had not been long at all since Crystal had trained the Chiss last. Perhaps the blue skinned woman had the patience of a child and sought attention constantly. She knew the game. She’d raised many of her descendants. Ultimately, they had failed to impress her after a certain point and their training ceased. That hadn’t happened yet with Asylen, so for the moment, she would get some of the attention that she sought.

Crystal was on her usual training grounds when Asylen ran by. For the moment, she left the Chiss woman to run and burn energy. Soon she would see what the apprentice had learned about her limits.

After half a dozen laps, she spoke to her in her mind. “If you’re finished, come with me.” She led the way to a darkened room where one of the followers of her chosen God was sitting. He couldn’t see or hear them. But he would know what they were there by their footsteps she was sure.

“We’re going to try something a little different today.” Crystal smirked.

As she ran past Crystal the first time the Chiss woman gave her master nothing more than a small nod of acknowledgement. She wasn’t going to beg for training, the last time she had requested training had led to what she figured was an unwarranted punishment. If the older woman was going to offer training she would have to offer it.

A few more laps of the compound and she felt the touch of the Sith master on her mind and responded in kind, her control over her skills was getting better. ~Very well.~

Following [member="Crystal"] into a darkened room where a follower of Ithari was seated apparently unaware of their approach entirely. Asylen looked the follower puzzled what the Sith master had in mind. “Something like what?”

“You will make him fear you.” Crystal smiled. “There are rules however. You may not physically touch or harm him.” How she went about it was entirely up to her, but those that followed the bloody one were difficult to scare. So, Asylen had her work cut out for her.

“There will be no evidence of mistreatment on him, or you will share in his pain,” the Sith warned. It was difficult to train apprentices without volunteers, and if mistreatment was reported then none would volunteer. And that wouldn’t do anyone any good.

“Begin.”

Shrugging slightly she felt no loyalty to this one just because he was a follower of Ithari for now he was a tool to be used to complete a task. Of anyone followers of the bloody knew the value of sacrificing those beneath them to accomplish a goal if the man remembered any of this it wasn’t likely he would hold a grudge. Asylen looked at the man intently for a moment as she considered her position, his sight would reveal the truth she couldn’t give him that, his auditory and olfactory senses could be left intact however if used right she could trigger all sorts of lovely reactions.

Stepping forward slowly she waved her hands removing the plugs that were preventing the man from hearing, her steps are slow and deliberate. Ashra’syle’nuruodo steps past the man as she reaches into the depths of his mind, he is quite guarded as is to be expected but she has gotten good at telepathic skills and has a sense of what he is imagining already. His thoughts are not far off from the truth he is picturing a small human woman. The Chiss woman smiles to herself as she steps up behind her target breathing lightly on his neck she watches the hairs on the back of his neck rise and the image mutate a little he was getting excited, it was time to twist things a little. She dives deeper into the mind of the man seeking his fears she draws up images of some pretty horrific battles but they were of no use, she seeks a monster in his past and after some searching she finds exactly what she wants.

As the mans’ excitement grows the Chiss woman starts to contort the image in his mind ever so slightly changing it piece by piece from the beautiful woman he imagined. The eyes first, they change from a soft blue to something more pleasing, a deep red. She focused on the mouth next, the beautiful woman’s mouth widened into a smile and as she bared her teeth they sharpened out into vicious looking teeth a snake like tongue wiping around behind them. The facial features of the woman sharpened and darkened from the pinkish tones of a human to a deep ash colour, it was almost sickly. She reached out and gently ran a nail across the man’s cheek leaving no mark but she pressed the impression into the man’s mind that the nail was a long sharp claw he was starting to contort the image himself.

Looking at [member="Crystal"] for a mid-point evaluation of what she had done so far she would only wait a few moments before continuing on.

Crystal had done this very task previously with Asylen’s competition, and had very different results. She was more than pleased with Asylen’s methods, as they were much more in tune with her own methods. She nodded to the Chiss as they made eye contact, indicating that she should continue. But for the moment, she offered no verbal or telepathic praise or feedback.

The Sith Princess watched both the man, who was clearly no longer aroused as he had been just moments before. But, he was not at the level of fear that she was looking for yet. Asylen seemed to be enjoying herself, which pleased her. It was much easier to teach someone if they enjoyed the training. Perhaps she had under valued the Chiss. If she kept this up, Crystal would consider her for a different line of training than the others had received.

Turning her attention back to the man in front of her Asylen forced the impression at each of her steps was a lot heavier than it actually was. She could see the man’s imagination was making her out to be quite the monster. She could smell the man’s fear in the force though he hadn’t shown any sign of it externally beyond sweating a little. She drew power from the powerful emotions he was exuding if he were not bound and blinded he would certainly be fighting she could sense that much clearly for this follower of Ithari fear led to a fight response. She activated her lightsaber its distinctive snap hiss causing a small flinch from her victim as confusion flood through his mind. With a quick and accurate slice she brought the lightsaber into the ropes that bound the man’s wrists and another released his ankles. She reached into his mind forcing on his mind the idea that he was permanently blind even though he was simply wearing a blinder she made him forget about it.

Deactivating the saber she tapped on the man’s shoulder to get his attention as he stood. He swung wildly in that direction fear and adrenaline driving his motions but she was quicker than he could hope to be and ducked below his swing with ease. She wasn’t allowed to harm him physically so those were the rules she would follow but few things were more terrifying than an opponent you could see or hit. She pressed deeper on the mind follower of the bloody, as she closed in she tickled his side with her fingertips as she did. She pressed the idea that she had bit him on his mind, morphing the image he had of her that the large teeth were now dripping with blood a piece of his own flesh hanging from its mouth. He grabbed at his side as if he were bleeding out from it as he swung again trying to hit the Chiss who was torturing his mind. He could hear her movements but without his sight he didn’t stand a chance.

Crystal was thoroughly enjoying watching Asylen work. She certainly had the kind of imagination that was necessary for this sort of thing. It was interesting that the Chiss let the man free, but she saw why. He wanted to fight, but it was difficult to fight what he couldn’t see. They had only just begun, but she was well on her way to achieving the goal set out for her. The Sith Master was absolutely delighted.

This would continue until the mans screams became intolerable. But they were not there yet. The Sith smiled and hoped that he could hold out for a while.

Sensing the delight off her master Asylen knew she was impressing her, for her own part she was absolutely professional she wasn’t enjoying torturing the man, it was a task to be completed. She kept out of the reach of the man as he kept flailing at her ducking behind him every time he over reached. Once she was behind the man she would tap a different part of his body every time. She impressed on his mind that every touch was her hitting him with as much strength as she could manage. He was crying in pain with each touch but he was still fighting her.

Stepping in behind the man again as he took another swing she pressed her hands against the man’s back gently. She pressed the impression that she had hit him hard enough to break his back and the man collapsed without any assistance. He writhed around on the ground as she smirked down at him, he was weakening. She stood over him circling slowly, stepping over him as he flailed his arms around trying to defend himself from an imagined threat.

Crystal continued to watch, knowing that the man would soon break, figuratively at least. He was doing his best, considering the position he was in and the amount of pain created in his mind. But he wouldn’t be able to hold out forever. Another couple of minutes and the man would be begging for it all to stop, to die.

She had proved that she could complete the assigned task, and within the parameters set out for her. Crystal was more than satisfied with her apprentice’s performance.

“You have done well. That will be all for today.” Now, she had work to do. The poor man would need a memory adjustment, though in his present condition he wouldn’t put up much of a fight.

Stepping away from the thoroughly broken man the Chiss wiped a bead of sweat from her brow, she still had energy for more but she saw the value in ending the exercise now. For all the ease she had demonstrated with this particular task it had still sapped its fair share of her energy. She nodded just briefly as she stepped out of the room holding her composure as long as she could. She left her master behind without another word heading straight for her quarters and the refresher.

Once in her quarters Ashra'syle'nuruodo peeled the sweat soaked clothing off and started the shower, she stepped in and let the water cascade over her as rested her arm against the side her head pressed against it. It would take some time before she could truly integrate the skills learned today into her repertoire. As the waves of exhaustion washed away with the shower she smirked, it had been exhilarating she would have to find more time to practice those skills but she wouldn't do that here on Exocron, it would not be appropriate to abuse the followers of the gods like that. There were many faithless out there in the galaxy, next time she had the opportunity she would turn this knew skill on them.

Crystal took good care of the man once Asylen left, adjusting his memory so that it recalled a pleasant experience with the Priestess of Hali. And, she let him clean himself up before releasing him back to the general population of the Temple.

And she resumed her usual schedule of watching the followers from the mess hall. She’d give the Chiss all the time she required to recover from the efforts before beginning a new lesson. This one would be fun for Crystal, probably not so fun for Asylen….

Returning to [member="Crystal"] a few hours later the Chiss seemed somewhat subdued and quiet, it was quite a radical change from just a few hours before when she had been ready to kill anything that crossed her path if it would advance her training. Something about the last lesson had caused a profound change in Asylen. She was still bloodthirsty and ruthless but there was something new about it all, a measure of patience perhaps, only time would tell. She bowed slightly to the Sith Sorceress before she took a seat at the table observing those passing by until the Crusader was ready to start the next lesson.

The Sith Princess nodded to her apprentice as she took the seat at her table. She noted a change in the Sith. A measure of control. That would be especially helpful in their next lesson. Crystal offered the Chiss a candy from the container that she was munching from. “It’s interesting to watch the others, don’t you think?” She asked with her signature head tilt.

She ate one more then pushed her chair away from the table. “Come, we’ll go outside.” That of course meant more training. Today, the Chiss would learn to channel her emotions into a workable rage.

Shaking her head as Asylen looked at [member="Crystal"] decling the candy from the container, she was not interested in treats. "Not particularly no, they are so small by comparison, servants to the gods that will never know of their gifts. I can understand why the gods keep them around though they obviously have their uses."

Standing up again the Chiss pushed her own chair in with a casual swipe of her hand, her control over telekenesis was becoming much more precise. The chair just stopped a hair short of the table as Ashra'syle'nuruodo followed Crystal outside for more training.

The Sith Princess smirked before cracking her knuckles. It had been a while since she’d zapped someone for fun. The last time it had been Asylen’s rival and competition, the white haired Azlyn. She had taken entirely too many before achieving the desired result. While she didn’t believe that the Chiss would take that long, she could always hope. It would simply mean more fun for her.

Without warning, Asylen would be on the receiving end of Force Lightning. At least for few seconds. From there, she would have to see what action was necessary. In the mean time, she created illusions of herself surrounding the Chiss apprentice. Each wearing the smirk. And each with lightning crackling at her finger tips.
