DESCRIPTION

Since rejoining the greater galactic community, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant has been encountering Force-Sensitives in far larger numbers than anticipated. Men like Ronhar Tane Ronhar Tane have found themselves face to face with both Jedi and Sith, oftentimes engaging in personal combat with them. To effectively fight these threats, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant has begin investing in anti-force technologies, producing a number of different weapons that are specifically tailored to take down Jedi and Sith.

The Prototype Sonic Pistol is an example of one such weapon. Unlike Blasters, which fire condensed bolts of plasma, or Slugthrowers, which fire physical projectiles, the Prototype Sonic Pistol fires spheres of sonic energy at its target. Such spheres are highly destructive against anything they come into contact with, and more importantly, are impossible to fully block or deflect with a lightsaber. They can also be set to a less lethal, but still quite painful, frequency, incapacitating targets without killing them.

Of course, being a prototype weapon, the Prototype Sonic Pistol is not without its downsides. The weapon itself is physically fragile, difficult to aim and has a short effective range. More importantly is the fact that the weapon cannot be recharged in the field, meaning that it should only be used in the most dire of circumstances!
