SPECIAL FEATURES

• Shard housed within the device that is crudely mind controlled to use the force on behalf of the device's user

STRENGTHS

• Allows Non Force Users and Droids limited access to basic physical force powers and at the risk of destroying the Shard housed within more advance ones such as force lightning

WEAKNESSES

• Due to how the device functions it is limited to using the dark side of the force
• Device is useless should the Shard housed within die
• Force nullification prevents the device from working and risks the device destroying the shard within as the prototype does not have the capacity to detect force nullification thus putting too much strain on the Shard as it attempts to force the shard to use the force
• Too much usage of the device will cause too much strain on the Shard killing it
• The device can only reliably do physical force abilities such as force push or pull. Powers such as mind tricks are unreliable and utilising the device to enhance ones senses generally has disastrous effects
• Should the parts of the device that restrains the Shard be broken freeing the Shard's mind generally causes the Shard to attack the user of the device with the force. The device has a failsafe that detonates destroying the Shard housed within should this happen but currently does not activate fast enough to prevent damage. Best case scenario should this happen is the user loses an arm and worse case if the failsafe fails is the user will be extreme agony until the Shard is destroyed or the user perishes.

DESCRIPTION
For an extremely long time Lord Mettallum has been trying to figure out a way to gain access to the mystic energies of the force. Most attempts have proven fruitless but finally he believes he has found a crude way to access the force by utilizing a middleman which in this case would be enslaved shards that are force sensitive. Compared to organics the shards are small enough to be house within a hand held device and also do not require the upkeep that an organic would require.

The device itself works by essentially torturing the shard to do the users bidding, this is done mainly by electrical stimuli. Further devices are used to restrain the shard's mind to prevent it from lashing out at anyone using the device but this isn't perfect and should the restraints fail tests have shown that users of the device will generally get extreme bodily harm normally via the shard utilizing the force to crush them so to prevent such actions the device has a small bomb implanted within it to blow up if the restraints fail.

Currently there are four Shardic Force Enablers constructed with the plan to create more advanced versions that are hopefully a lot safer once further funding it collected and more research into how the force works.
