Good evening Chaos! I have a proposal for updating the rules regarding Super Star Destroyers on Chaos.
Overview:
How it Works:
What do you think Chaos? Would this system work for you?
Overview:
Super Star Destroyers have existed on Chaos under several different systems, and each version has room for improvement its own way. When acquisition is tied strictly to PVP, these ships are so rare that they are almost never seen in play. While this preserves their prestige, it also means they rarely contribute to ongoing stories or strategic decision making.
When acquisition was tied to PVE, the opposite problem appeared. Active factions could reliably earn multiple Super Star Destroyers in a short period of time, which caused them to become common rather than exceptional. In both cases, once a faction acquired one, it often became something to protect rather than use, largely due to uncertainty around what happens if it is damaged or destroyed.
This proposal aims to strike a middle ground that keeps Super Star Destroyers meaningful, usable, and integrated into the game without overwhelming the system or staff.

This proposal aims to strike a middle ground that keeps Super Star Destroyers meaningful, usable, and integrated into the game without overwhelming the system or staff.
How it Works:
- Super Star Destroyers are tied to slots based on territorial control rather than being one time rewards from specific events.
- Major Factions earn one Super Star Destroyer slot for every thirty hexes they control. (With Staff retaining final authority over the ratio)
- (e.g., Sith Order would have four slots under this system)
- Each slot allows a faction to submit and operate one Super Star Destroyer through the Factory using existing rules.
- Staff will create a Super Star Destroyer Registry thread, where each Major Faction is responsible for posting and tracking its own hex count, available slots, and approved Super Star Destroyer submissions.
- Each Major Faction is responsible for keeping its registry post accurate and up to date as its territory or Super Star Destroyer status changes.
- If a Super Star Destroyer is destroyed, the faction retains the slot and may rebuild or submit a new ship.
This system allows Super Star Destroyers shine anew in stories by giving factions clear freedom to use them in diplomacy and high stakes plots (heists anyone?), so long as all involved parties agree and the rules around available slots are respected. As faction territory grows or shrinks, factions are responsible for keeping their registry posts accurate, ensuring that their available slots and assets always reflect their current standing.
Staff involvement remains intentionally light, with the bulk of staff involvement being typical factory review. Day to day tracking is handled by factions themselves, and Chaos has a long standing culture of accountability where factions are quick to notice and address each other's inconsistencies when they appear.
Overall, this proposal keeps Super Star Destroyers special without locking them away, supports multiple playstyles, and fits naturally into how Chaos already operates. It turns these ships into active parts of the game world rather than static achievements, strengthening both storytelling and long term faction play.
