Prophet of the Opera [Salina]

A message had came directly to Vael'roth's personal commlink inviting him to the grand opening of a new theater in the high class district of Coruscant. Being the socialite that he is, Vael could not decline the invite. He dressed himself in his finest set of crimson and gold robes and set off for Coruscant.

Upon arriving, Vael was greeted by a driver sent by the theater's owner to bring him to the grand opening. It had been a while since Vael was treated like this. A feeling he severely longed for. The interior of the massive theater was magnificent to say the least. The golden walls and columns were beautiful, the stage was large, and only the finest patrons were invited to such a soon-to-be historic moment. Vael was lucky enough to get a seat in a balcony close to the stage all to himself. A serviceman brought him a bottle of champagne with a clean wine glass. The show was about to begin and Vael was ready to enjoy it.

Seeing is believing, but one must see first.
She wasn't sure how it had happened, but a talent scout had managed o find his way to Salina. Instead of coming for a reading he'd come for her voice. Hearing it while passing by caught his ear and sue enough, the man wanted her to be a soprano at the opening of a grand new theater on Courascant. It had taken him a week to fully convince her to come, being that she was involved with her own business in the Order of the Black Hand and that she was nervous being she hadn't sung for such an audience before. Still she did have the training of her youth and the knowledge of her late mother who was a soprano as well. When she'd arrived and was made clear of what to sing and so on the night had finally come for the grand opening. When the curtains opened Salina stood in the center of the stage all dressed in fine black dressings. With a clap from the audience the blind seer knew she had her moment to sing. @Vael'roth Kon

Vael watched in amazement to the singer's voice. He had never heard such beautiful vocals in his life ever. His eyes were stuck on her in all her beauty the entire show. At the end, Vael stood up from his seat and clapped loudly for the woman's outstanding performance. Everyone started leaving at the end of the show, but Vael was too intrigued. He had to meet this woman and congratulate her personally.

Vael made his way downstairs and was able to talk his way backstage. Once there, he sought out the dressing room of the singer. He came upon the door with her name on it and knocked on it lightly. "Ms. Aviner, I hate to intrude but I simply must congratulate you on your performance. It was absolutely sublime. My name is Vael'roth Kon and I just wanted to say thank you for making the trip to this horrid planet worthwhile." Vael was somewhat starstruck being in the presence of the woman who just made his warm heart beat a little smoother.

The applause of the people made Salina smile greatly. She began to understand why people would do this for a living if it meant receiving this kind of recognition all the time. when all was done and Salina returned to her room the first thing she did was speaking with her amphistaff, Xira, as a serpent, telling how amazing it felt. Next thing she knew someone was knocking on her door wanting to speak with her. Whispering to Xria, the snake eventually became like a walking stick in her hands before she turned her chair and said "Come in."

@Vael'roth Kon

Vael opened the door and stepped into the room in his scarlet robes. His blonde hair was long and straight, reaching to his upper abdomen and mid back. He politely bowed before her as customary for a Kon to do in front of a prestigious woman. "Good evening, m'lady. As I said before, I am Vael'roth Kon. You can call me Vael. Again, I'd wish to thank you for making the show so incredible." he stated. He walked closer to her and took her hand into his and kissed it gently before looking her in the eyes. "M'lady, you wouldn't happen to be blind would you?" he inquired.

"I would assume that information would've been given before." she said after he asked her. "But these eyes can see more than just what is in front of me. I can see things that were, and things that could be. For instance....I can see all the crimes you committed as a child. I can see every thing from the pickpocketing to the murders and how that bored you enough to turn a new leaf, joining the Templar order instead." Her eyes looked up towards his general direction and asked "Do you see now, Mr. Vael?"

@Vael'roth Kon

A look of shock and confusion came upon his face. He was already amazed by her vocal talents, but now he was even more amazed by her psychic talents. "That's..How did you..wow." Vael took a moment to admire her. "That is phenomenal. You can see all of that? So easily? Intriguing. What brings you to opera? Shouldn't you be some king's or emperor's chief adviser? If I were a man of power, I'd surely employ you." he pleaded. Vael then pulled a seat over near Salina to sit on.

"If great men sought me as an advisory they would only receive riddles, not what they want." she explained. "I can never tell the full truth of the future, only what I must to set someone on the right path. But, in the end, the path they chose is there's alone. As to why I am here, would you believe pure coincidence?" She explained her reasons for being at the opera, retelling of the man who hired her after hearing her voice, and when she finished she said "What about you then? I can tell you have abilities of the divines, or the force if you wish. And I know you're part of the Confederacy. Why come all this way for an opera house opening?"

@Vael'roth Kon

"Oh, I see." Vael replied. "What do you do for a living then since this is your first show?" he inquired. "I haven't heard your name before this day so you must be a hermit of sorts. That or you prefer a low profile. I think that you're one of those old fashioned psychics. All types of baubles and doodads in your place of business. Deck of cards, charms, et cetera. Am I right?" Vael liked to guess the story of people's lives. It was sort of a habit. He didn't have the abilities like Salina, but he did have common sense. "As for me, I've only come for my love of the opera. I was planning on leaving right after until you and your magnificent voice were revealed. I just had to stop in and say hello after that." he answered.

"Hermit is not the word I would use." she began. "More....traveling fortune teller or oracle of sorts. But I do not need silly things like crystal balls or cards. No, only the air in my lungs, a nice meal and bed for every place that I stop, credits to take me from one place to another and back, and finally Xira." She held up her amphistaff and showed him. "I doubt I would be standing here if not for her helping me in so many endeavors." As Vael would likely reach out to touch her, the staff would come alive as a serpent and hiss at him, making Salina pull her back and saying "No, it's alright, Xira." She pet her head to keep her calm while saying to him "Sorry. She's not very trusting of people."

@Vael'roth Kon

"I see. Well for such a basic form of payment, you are pretty damn good at what you do. As far as seeing the past and present goes." Vael ears twitched the little wen she mentioned her staff. His curiosity caused him to reach out for it but it's sharp hiss and snap at him drew his hand back to safety. "That's a um..nice friend you have there. Quite the social one." he said jokingly. "So, m'lady. Did you have any plans for after your show? I surely could use someone with me as I'm stuck eating dinner on this wretched planet. Especially a pretty one such as yourself." Vael offered.

She smiled at his offer, saying "I did not have any initial plans for later. But if you are offering me dinner I could not refuse." She waved her hand over Xira to make her into a staff again before saying "Let me get my coat." She used the staff to find where her coat was, a long robe with a dark hood, before turning back to Vael and offering her arm to let him lead the way. "I'm ready." she said.

@Vael'roth Kon

Kael wrapped his arm around hers and began walking for the exit. "Do you have any particular tastes, Ms.Aviner?" he wondered, asking about her diet. He led her to the hovercar he arrived in and the driver took off for a cruise around town until Vael gave the word on where to go. The seats of the vehicle were made of fine leather and the floor was soft faux fur. "I'm willing to eat anything, honestly. Though, I'm sure the typical meal on Coruscant is nothing compared to what I'm used to, I'm willing to try it out." he stated.

She thought for a moment before saying "A friend of mine once mentioned a lovely spot that overlooks the senate building. I wouldn't know about any view-side seats but that sounds nice enough." Giving the name to Vael she waited until they arrived, being helped out by Vael and being escorted to their table eventually. She gave her coat to the girl waiting but insisted on keeping Xira with her when they arrived at their table. When they ordered Salina said "I'll have the squible liver salad and water, please. And bring a small pouch of bits of meat." After Vael would likely ask about it she said "It's for Xira, not me."

@Vael'roth Kon

"The Senate building? You mean the one that was torn apart by some enraged Sith? Sure, let's go." he replied to her offer. As they arrived, Vael led Salina to her seat and sat across from her. "I'll have the Nerf steak with a glass of rum, please." he ordered. "So, where are you from? Surely a woman such as yourself wouldn't be caught dead on this planet without an outstanding reason, would you?" he asked, wondering about her origins. "When did you learn you were psychic, exactly? And where have you been hiding that glorious voice?" The questions he thought of constantly piled up in his head the more he asked.

With each question that came up she answered as best she could. "I was born on Alderaan. But when I grew older, and because of certain incidents that be, I left and went off on my own. For a while I traveled with one of the Witches of Dathomir, where I'd learned how to better use this ability. Which, I'd like to correct, is not psychic powers. Rather is is my own natural ability to see a past and predict a future. It's the power that was granted by the divines, but most would say it is part of the force. Not that I would refer to it as such. As for my voice, my mother was a soprano herself, which is where I was taught. But I'd never really had the chance to sing for anyone until now."

@Vael'roth Kon

Vael sat back in his chair and listened to her story. felt this as doing more than just a blind woman a good deed, but instead as making a new friend and potential ally in the future. But mostly because she was so damn beautiful. "That's a fascinating tale you have there. Little girl going off on her own in a galaxy full of danger who then becomes a force adept, trained to tell one's past and predict their future and now an impressive singer. I'd pay credits to see that on the big screen." Vael said with a warm chuckle right after.

The food was brought to the table, each plate with it's own delicious aroma. Next to Salina's plate, the waiter placed the pouch of meat for her staff. "Ah, perfect." Vael said before dining on his meal. The tenderness of the steak was sublime. Not as good as Vael is used to in Confederacy space but still quite delectable. "So, tell me," Vael said before wiping his mouth with a napkin, "what's it like being blind? I am quite curious how one goes about their days with such a disability."

As she ate her meal, putting the bag of meat aside to take for later, his question of "being blind" came up. She swallowed what was in her mouth before asking "What is it like to see?" with a smirk. It was clear what she was trying to say was this sort of question was pointless to ask since she couldn't answer. It would be like asking a fish why it swims; it's just something natural to it. As they ate a few other people who were present from the opera earlier had entered the restaurant, though not seeing either Salina or @Vael'roth Kon just yet

Vael hmm'd and chuckled lightly at her rebuttal. He realized just how pointless his question really was. "Like, what can you see? Just blurs? Darkness? What do you see as your beautiful eyes lay open?" he asked once more, a bit clearer in his question this time. Vael was able to notice some well dressed men and women that were also at the opera as he was.

"If there is one thing I can certainly see," she began "is auras. Life-force in everyone, mainly those with the force. I see yours, Vael. It's odd, green in color. It makes you look like a walking green cloud. It's always different depending on the user." As she finished some of the people who entered instantly saw her and walked over, giving compliments and asking for autographs. After that was complete there was one man who asked for an encore performance, here in the restaurant. Salina didn't know what to say and looked to Vael for an answer.
