OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

• Intent: To create a pair of rings able to detect powerful Force Nexuses and Alchemized items.
• Canon Link: N/A
• Restricted Missions: Proof of Award
• Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
• Manufacturer: Unknown jeweler, Caelag Vass
• Model: N/A
• Affiliation: Caelag Vass
• Modularity: No
• Production: Unique
• Material: Silver, Tartarine Crystals
SPECIAL FEATURES
• Found only in the Tartarus system, now the only examples are those picked up by certain people during the Incursion crisis.
• Glows in the presence of background Force energy, getting brighter the stronger the energy is. In a strong nexus or by a powerful Alchemical item it will glow bright enough to illuminate a room.
• The glowing does not differentiate between Dark or Light energies, it merely tells one the Force is presence.
• Cannot be used to detect if a person is Force sensitive unless they are overtly using the Force. Hiding one’s signature/powers prevents this as well.
• Lightweight
• Physically very weak to kinetic or sonic damage as it tends to shatter. Resists energy or lightsabers somewhat.
Strengths:
• Glows. In the presence of stronger than average Force energy, Tartarine Crystals glows, the brightness corresponding to the strength of the energy. This is a great way for Non-Force and Force users alike to detect Nexuses and areas of high concentration.
• Dissipation. Tartarine Crystals are able to resist strikes from lightsabres and blaster bolts as well as intense fire, cold and electricity. Granted these are rings, and very small at that.
Weaknesses:
• Shatter. The crystals can be easily shattered by kinetic impact such as by a hammer. Further, sonic resonance can shatter the crystals as well.
• Hidden. Tartarine Crystals cannot be used to detect Force users directly unless they have overtly used the Force to affect their environment. Those hiding their Force signatures or concealing their powers cannot be detected. It also cannot be used on those hiding themselves with the Force from sight.
DESCRIPTION

Caelag Vass, the blind sniper of the Iron Empire, was a bit confounded when she had to consider what to use one of he few gifts received upon completion of the mission to the Machine. A crystal which supposedly glowed when it detected large sums of background Force energy, which she herself could already sense being a Miraluka. Yet a gift was not something to squander. and she intended to make use of it. So, not having much better to do with these strange crystals, she had her sample cut and formed into the gems of two rings, which would be made to fit either of her hands relatively easily. These would, at least, give some credence to any time she spoke to a non force user about the power of an item, or the presence of a powerful nexus, as the glow was something even they would be able to understand.

Not to mention they are a pair, meaning destroying one would leave the other, though these seem far more of use as keepsakes than anything practical.
