Projecting Power

"Survival is something I can certainly do," the Wookiee replied with a laugh, fighting the urge to pat John on the back in familiarity. Of course he stops himself, realizing that his natural strength would probably send the human flying. "But it seems like something that will boost those chances significantly. So it will certainly be an excellent addition to the systems."

[member="John Locke"]

"Well, I wouldn't be so sure of that," John levelled an amused smile at [member="Errreembuhr"], almost a sharklike expression on his face. "My last test pilot didn't last all that long, I was actually quite sad about that. His family still send me postcards though, they all moved to Alderaan and he's started up a nice little local shipping business, seems quite happy out there. Still, if you're so sure of your own survival them I'm sure we can help with that. I can even throw in some maintenance droids to make sure everything stays in top form. I'd hate to say that something of ours let oyu down after all."

"Maintenance droids would be a good help, though I have quite a few myself that I will be including, and another series in development." He takes a moment to think, pondering how production is working back on New Plympto, but quickly gets himself back on topic. "Is there anything else you can think of that may be of use in the ship?"

[member="John Locke"]

"Greedy big guy aren't you?" John noted with a laugh as he dropped onto the leather sofa in the corner of his office as he furrowed his brow in thought. "Nothing available right now, we're developing a few things, but they're all in the research phase though," he shot the larger engineer a grin, "I'm sure we can negotiate to use you at a testbed if you'd like to refurbish with the newest tech in the future."

[member="Errreembuhr"]

The Wookiee laughed at the joke, nodding along as his host took a seat. "I see. Well I'd be happy to help with testing in any event. New technology is always an interesting thing to me from a purely scientific standpoint. For now, however, if that's all, should we get to setting down our agreement officially? Not that I'm in any rush, of course, but as a fellow aficionado of such things I'd imagine you have more pressing matters to attend to rather than entertaining an old Wookiee such as myself."

[member="John Locke"]

"Trust me, you're saving me on one more compromising board meeting about how we need to compromise on our new Turbolasers," the edges of John's lips quirked up as she smirked at [member="Errreembuhr"], "I mean is it too much to ask that we build a Turbolaser that can destroy you in one hit, fire as fast as a machine gun," It was all John could do to stop himself from laughing, "I mean is that too much to ask." The dark-haired man lowered his head, nodding at EX as the droid padded silently into the room, "Speak of the devil, I think those are our contracts, you know, sometimes I swear you have my office bugged." "Oh sir, I would never do that. My ability to foresee your every need is just a matter of a deep study of your mind and habits and besides cameras are so much more useful...did I say that I meant I'm magic."

The topic of a rapid-firing high powered turbolaser struck Errreembuhr as a very intriguing thing, something that surely would change the face of warfare. He intended to suggest a possible solution, but as he laughed along with John, the droid entered the room. "Perhaps the droid is linked to your facility's surveillance system? Otherwise how would he know?"

[member="John Locke"]

The man shook his head, not trying to hide the smile on his lips, "You know, I think you might be onto something there. That would explain so much, like how he's apparently all knowing and seeing." The dark-haired man leaned back waggling his finger at the droid as he approached, "Is that it, you've been spying on me?" "Oh sir, I would never do that to you."

[member="Errreembuhr"]

"It would seem he has been indeed," Errreembuhr added in, clearly enjoying the repartee between the two. His own droid confidants, Talus and Agil, both lacked the personality that it seemed EX possessed, though that often came with time in his experience. Talus in particular had a more innocent mind, unaccustomed to things outside of his combat programming. It was interesting to see him dealing with new situations and learning from them. "But perhaps it is only for your own good?"

[member="John Locke"]

"You know, that really wouldn't surprise me," John shook his head fondly as the droid padded across to room, one photoreceptor blinking off as the droid tilted his head to the side to glance at [member="Errreembuhr"], "One does what one has to protect one's own, isn't that right sir?" EX settled the contracts on the table, allowing both men to look over them before John quickly signed the contracts, pushing them over the table towards the Wookie. "It looks pretty standard, I've got no issues with that."

Errreembuhr took his time in reading them over, having learned in the past that even for something as simple as a commissioned ship it was prudent to be vigilant in one's business. After doing so he's of a similar mind, agreeing that everything looks on the level and standard. With that done he took his turn to sign the document. "I have no issues either, Mr. Locke. It appears then that business here is concluded?" He casts a momentary glance at EX, briefly considering the idea of building a droid such as him and setting dual programming to act as both assistant and bodyguard before looking back to [member="John Locke"] .

The dark-haired man bowed his head, a smile playing across his lips, "Well then, it was a pleasure doing business with you." The man raised his glass to [member="Errreembuhr"], "Here's hoping this is the start of a profitable relationship"

Errreembuhr raised his own, nodding. "Certainly a pleasure, and it will be indeed profitable for the both of us." He took a drink, looking forward to seeing the development that the future may hold for their two companies.
