Faction PROJECT TION [The Imperial Confederation]

Admiral Squesha listened closely to her superiors, frowning slightly. The Confederation had been started not long ago and already it seemed they were going to challenge one of the most powerful factions in the galaxy. She spoke up.

"We cannot afford a single mistake. While our strength grows by the day, we are still vulnerable to the might of the Sith Order. If they were to turn their full attention to us we could not weather them for long. I agree with Captain Tane: The destruction or at least the disablement of the Florrum hypergate must be our priority. Only with enemy reinforcements delayed will we crush this illegitimate holding."

She took out her holoprojector, projecting a star map of the Sith state.

"We must move quickly before they can respond. Strike hard, strike fast. That is the best way to overcome them before the rest of the Sith attack."

She pointed to two systems at the far edge of the state.

"These will be the hardest systems to capture, Korriban and Krayiss II. The Sith hold strongholds there, and the worlds are of great religious importance to them. They will fight to the very end. Therefore I propose capturing the surrounding systems instead, setting up a blockade. My fleet would starve them into submission."

She put her holoprojector away.

"Of course that is some time away. We need to focus on Florrum first. We can use the shipyards and bases on Mahporeem as a launching point and a core for our supply lines. While a large attack would certainly crush them, perhaps a stealth infiltration would be useful to prevent the Sith from finding out until it is too late."

"My point is whatever we do we have to do decisively. This conflict will leads us to the edge of a knife. We must walk it perfectly."

Saltare listened to the back and forth of the other members in the room, his hand cupping his chin. The pros and cons of attacking the Sith Order, the blight, The Diarchy, this new nascent Empire, and the problems that could come with it all. He was a minor player in the grand scheme of the machinations at work in this room. But he would help where he could.

"I believe good points have been made regarding our path forward, both for and against. Cementing ourselves in this area of space, shoring up our defenses, can only be a good thing. The Sith threat is there, waiting. Sooner or later, we will have to deal with it."

"Speed, surprise, and violence of action is how I've lived and overcome my enemies. I agree with several of you here: strike now while the Iron is hot and our Confederation has momentum. Let us cripple the Sith in this sector before they can amass their strength and meet us on more favorable terms to them."

"Admiral Squesha Squesha 's tactics are sound. I'll only add that our Spec Ops units are ready and willing to dive behind enemy lines in any way we can to disrupt the Sith before we launch our attack. Fighting the Sith doesn't have to be brute force vs brute force, we have our ways of crippling this enemy before we make the major push. Let us make the terms of this invasion as favorable to us as possible before we commit our full strength."

Saltare shifted his focus towards The Lord of Hunger The Lord of Hunger , having said his piece on the Sith.

"For this blight, Inferno can infiltrate and obtain any needed samples or research available at their local facilities or planetside if need be. You may have your own means available to obtain them, but my team is available should you choose to use us. We can also test any type of inoculation you may have available by that time."

Saltare shifted his back as he sat back into his chair, awaiting the other members if they chose to speak or respond.

There was alot to process for the Field Commander. So much so that she remained very silent for the duration of much of the meeting, content with only listening. Various other influential figureheads made their points, their concerns, their suggestions. Regardless though, war was coming and the Imperial Confederation was going to be the one who will make the first strike. She did agree with Squesha Squesha . An attack needs to be decisive and fast before the Sith can gather in strength.

But what she knew about the Sith, is that they were ruthless. Willing to sacrifice everything for victory. She pondered if the Imperial Confederation can win such a war of attrition. Unlike the Sith, the Imperials don't rely on Sith alchemy or magics to bolster their war machines. The stories of Korriban alone, on how they drive people mad from the amount Sith corruption there. Who knows how many sane civilians are left on these worlds.

Yet this invasion will go forward, by decree of the Empress herself.

"ISS assets will be redirected to assist in tipping the scales to us. Acts of sabotage, assassination of Sith commanders, and intelligence gathering can be done. It will help us make a more precise surgical strikes on these worlds. Sith Command structrues are rigid pyramids. Knocking off a few key blocks can cause confusion and disorder. Not to mention, Sith do tend to turn on each other. It is a weakness we can exploit. Easier pickings for us if they turn on each other. And it will reduce our losses as well"
