Canon Link: None

PRODUCTION INFO
Name: Project Invariant
Manufacturer: The Emergence Empire / The Emergence Scientific Research and Development Sector
Affiliation: The Emergence Empire / ESRDS
Modularity: Updates to Archives
Production: Minor
Material: Diamond, RTSCE's, Laser Components, Durasteel Case
TECH SPECS
Classification: Quantum-Storage Data Disc
Size: Small
Weight: Light
CONTENTS
Quantum Storage - Data is stored at the subatomic level using Quantum Holographic Storage. Large quantities of Data are kept in a holographic state almost indefinitely due to the Zero-Resistance Nature of the RTSCE's keeping the Disc powered
Emergence Tech - Having completed and scaled what is commonly known as Fringe-Science, the Emergence has developed a Data Storage System accessible only by them. The technology to retrieve sub-atomic data is not currently available in the Galaxy
Weaknesses:
Fragile - The Laser machinery within the Disc that maintains the Holograph is vulnerable to kinetic damage. If thrown against a wall or dropped a certain height, the Lasers inside may faulter, damaging or deactivating the Holograph and erasing the stored Data
EMP/Ion - Erasing the Data within can also be done through Ion or Electrical Interference. By deactivating or crippling the electronic systems within, the Data will be lost
DESCRIPTION
Project Invariant is the collaborative effort of all of The Emergence's various research facilities (Collectively known as The Emergence Scientific Research and Development Sector). The Project consists of research into the manipulation and excitation of the Tachyonic Field, and subsequently the Warfare Application of Tachyon-Based Technology. All Data is stored in a newly developed format called Quantum Holographic Data Storage.
The 'Discs' the data is stored on are Diamond Atoms with Data imprinted into their electrons. Once successfully ingrained in the sub-atomic structure, a holographic laser system copies the structure of the Atoms and reproduces the Data in a Holograph. This allows the data to decay due to Decoherence while still being kept artificially.
Project Invariant, and others, are kept in this manner. To protect against data loss, The Emergence has a vast collection of 'Auxiliary Citadels'. While one 'Disc' is made, it is then copied several times and stored in an identical Citadel in another location or planet.
