Profit Margins (Cato Neimoidia)

John smirked as he got the reply from Kalia.. he had to help out after all. He should get to leave his post for a while, he thought, after this planet was fully theres. It seemed that it was almost done. He figured he could at least sneak home and visit the kids. If Kalia was busy. It was days like these where he was so close yet so far from Kalia, that he missed her the most. He sighed, and resumed giving orders to his men, they had a planet to secure. Comms were in, They had Air Superiority which meant that @[member="Sky Kerberos"] @[member="Boolon Murr"] @[member="Delila Castillon"] had fighters and gunships incoming, strafing down any and all hostiles marked by the relevant commanders.

As the other fighters jumped into battle, Ben picked out his droid, and he approached cautiously. He was better than the droid, that much he knew, but he never underestimated an opponent. Thinking that one was better than something, or someone, was the quickest way to an early grave. One mistake was all the droid needed to cut him down, and it fully intended to, as it paced in front of Ben with its electro staff, waiting for him to make the first move. Concentrating, he took in how the droid moved, it was clunky and slow. Though slow, its attacks would be powerful and precise, which was why Ben had to end the duel quickly. He could play defense all day, but with other droids and Neiomodians around him, he did not want to draw it out anymore than it needed to be.

Impatient, the droid struck first, attacking Ben's left side. Easily he blocked it, putting his lightsaber under the staff, he redirected it over his head and slashed it downwards. Trying to capitalize, Ben thrusted his blade, but the droid blocked it. Using the momentum to swing around, he went for his head, but again he blocked it. It was all he needed, his midsection was open, with the force as his aid he went for the midsection with a slash. Valiantly, the droid tried to block it, but Ben was much to fast, and he fell over in two pieces, sparking and shorting out slowly. Standing up, Ben took note that the droid fought bravely, and he praised him via the force. Looking around, he realized, the battle was won.

Deactivating his lightsaber, Ben clipped it on his waist and approached Darron and the others. "Quite a team you have assembled here, Darron." Ben said behind the Grandmaster while smiling and being proud of the men he had fought with. "I am proud of all of us, we all fought well, and most of all we worked like a team. This was the first, but certainly not the last time, we will be fighting together."

"Good work, although we may need to patch up this planet....Lieutenant, whats your status?"

A light snicker escaped her lips as she heard the Major over the comm. She couldn't help it. This planet was going to need much more than a patch up if this battle continued to drag on like this. "A few with minor wounds, but all units are accounted for and mobile. I'm moving up to your position with two heavy gunners to provide support. The rest of my group will remain back here to provide security for the CCP."

She looked back over her shoulder at her soldiers. "Sergeant Reynolds. You., myself, and two heavies are gonna ush up to support the Major. The rest of you, maintain your sectors and provide security for the casualties." Her entire group nodded in unison, signaling the acknowledgement. With that, she immediately took off, two gunners and her Sargent in tow.Things were going exceedingly well. Anemone could only hop that things remained as such.

Jaxton Ravos

Mindwalker of the Outer Rim
Jaxton emerged from the elevator to be greeted by a series of destroyer droids and some sort of electro-staff wielding droid. The gang split their priorities, each taking a destroyer and staff-man, and Jaxton was no slacker. He rushed at the staff-wielder head on, and quickly noted the droid's lightsaber-resistant staff and seeming recognition of Jaxton's Djem So. It seemed the Nemoidan's personal protection was well equipped to deal with Jedi, which was a bit nice as it gave Jaxton to fight and learn against, but also a bit unnerving. They either had to spend money to make these Jedi-fighter droids, or they had found some of them in some cache somewhere, which begged the counter-questions, why would they spend the money to build such droids, or if there was a cache somewhere how many could be out there? Jaxton turned to deflect a few bolts from the destroyer droid, then backed up to dodge the coming of a staff blow.

One trying to beat him, one trying to shoot him, there had to be some way to combat that. Jaxton switched to a one handed grip then attacked the droid with a powerful overhead blow. The droid blockedwith it's lightsaber resistant staff, which Jaxton then grabbed with his other hand, then deactivated his lightsaber and grabbed it's other side. The droid's servo's began to whir in an attempt to outmuscle Jaxton, but Jaxton had already began running forward, pushing the droid forward as well, until the two crashed into a wall. Jaxton leaned forward and held the droid to the wall with his shoulder, then ignited his lightsaber and turned back into the droid, bisecting the machine's torso. The ring of blaster fire erupted, and Jaxton turned to block the destroyer's fire, inching forward as he deflected shot after shot after shot back to the droid's shields. When he finally reached the droid it had exhausted it's shields with it's own blaster fire, and Jaxton deactivated his lightsaber then drew the Force around his hand, it consuming and enveloping his had like cement, then punched forward at the droid, clean through it. He looked at his hand and the droid and frowned slightly. He had endured a small cut and the droid's destruction was not complete. He still hadn't mastered the technique. Dismissing the thought, he returned to Darron, Ben, and Seroth to hear Master Watts speak.

"I am proud of all of us, we all fought well, and most of all we worked like a team. This was the first, but certainly not the last time, we will be fighting together." He spoke with a tone of happiness.

"This'll be the last time we shoot ourselves into space out of a kriffing tube though." Jaxton replied quickly, and only slightly humorously.

The Army successful maneuvered up and down the theater. Eventually reaching Commander Zechs and finding him out of ammo. But in excellent spirits.

"Haha! Thank goodness you gals got here in time." He chuckled, "...I thought I was gonna have to take a knife to these war machines. Ha!"

Another explosion caught his monologue short and he shrugged.

"Let's finish up here. And when we are done? I'll owe you one. Heh."

He reloaded his cannon and smirked,

"Ladies first."

Delila looked the Navy Commander up and down and shrugged.Owe her? Well then it was time to set her own terms about the prize."You can take me out to dinner when we get back." She shot the man a wink and got back to work with the droids. No need to lose focus, it was about time to finish mopping up and let others take on over.

Cannons shot the last remaining large groups of droids while soldiers finished the stragglers. In short order they had finished, just piles of twitching droids lay all around. Smoke wafted around the battle site as the 73rd took to work getting ready to go home. It had been a long battle.

"Excellent job Lieutenant. Minor losses, looks the the 73rd is back in action thanks to you"

Anemone simply blinked at the Naval commander. He was a bit...different. One would even say odd. Then again, this was the military. And nothing was ever truly normal. Her eyes watched the remaining skirmishes between the droids and the soldiers as things finally came to a calm. A sigh of relief escaped her lips. The day was won, and Cato Neimoidia was theirs. It was a feeling that she had hoped would come sooner, but she certainly wouldn't complain.

"Thank you, Major. But the job's not really done yet." Without a moment of hesitation, Anemone rallied her group of soldiers together as they began to consolidate all equipment into one area, and casualties into another to be picked up at different LZs. There was much to be done. She had to get the soldiers back and reassess the casualties, do post-combat exams, restock all the medical supplies. So much work, so little time.
