Pro Tip: On "cross-pollination" between branches

Hello everyone - me again with yet another announcement. Hope you're not sick of me yet!

This is actually just a point of clarification which hasn't become an issue yet, but which I feel should be addressed before it does. This pertains to characters who wish to belong to multiple branches at once, the branches being military, Knights of Ren, government, and security bureau (with the potential addition of Sith auxiliaries as discussed in the other thread).

Right now, we don't really have many characters who belong to multiple branches, and in my opinion this is a good thing. Your character should realistically only have time to be devoted to one thing. Being a Knight of Ren should occupy most of one's time, just as holding a government position should. However, for those overachievers out there, and the most common crossover between branches we will see is between Sith/Knights of Ren and the military, since they are both tangentially related as martial pursuits and fight alongside each other in battles.

To this end, I just want everyone to be clear that each branch has separate ranks that do not coincide with each other. In other words, say you are a Sith Knight and you want to join the military. Does this entitle you to Adept-level military ranks? No. You must start as a Trainee like everyone else. The same if you were to join the Government or Security Bureau. Therefore you should think long and hard before you want to apply as a full-fledged military member. Think about if this is something your character is actually willing to do. Are you, a Sith Knight, willing to get a military haircut and join a company of soldiers and get barked at by superiors? Just some food for thought. Most, I imagine, would simply prefer to remain a Sith or Knight of Ren, where they get to collaborate with the military anyway but in a more informal setting.

The same goes for any of the other branches. Being a Fleet Admiral does not entitle you to join the Government as a Moff or whatever. Think about how your character would accomplish that, also. How would your character have time to both command fleets and make battle plans as well as manage the governments of multiple systems? Unless you're superhuman and only sleep for about 2 hours a day, I'd imagine that would be nigh impossible.

In conclusion, "cross-pollination" between branches is allowed... but don't go crazy with it. All myself and [member="Natasi Fortan"] ask is that you be realistic about it. The other major reason we want to do this is because again, we don't want to become the One Sith 2.0, where the Force Users just control everything. Positions are earned here, and we value realism. We want each branch to be mostly controlled by characters who are devoted to that branch, and we want to encourage the play of more "Imperial" NFUs, and not have everyone be a Force User.

So yeah. Just be realistic. That's all.

This has been a public service announcement by Field Marshal Vaas. For the Supreme Leader!

This. And Force users were not a visible part of the First Order or Galactic Empire, it would be very strange to have a sudden influx of Sith Lord Moffs, generals and admirals. The utilisation of Force users was secretive.

This very much can really help us set ourselves apart. We Ren characters are present in the shadows. Natasi, as Grand Moff, is the face of our faction. Even though the SL is really the puppet master.

To that end, [member="Ludolf Vaas"], I was thinking. You are quite right that we are all interrelated in our military pursuits. We are an Empire currently of conquest, so I propose the Ren take up a sort of Inquisitor/Political Commisar role. Something like the old U.S.S.R where we are there to ensure orthodoxy.

OOCly and ICly the officers still maintain control, but we are there to prevent TRAITORS! *swings stun baton*

There is also the possibility of FUs that are part of the rank and file, I myself am force sensitive stormtrooper medic currently my powers are work in progress, and while I do not relay on my force abilities I do have them and will use them when I fell it necessary. I Remember of mention of the galactic empire's force troopers though were that came from has currently slipped my mind. So that is something to consider as well, I whole hearty agree about "Cross pollination" though and that FUs have to earn their positions like NFUs

If you are a Force-sensitive in the military, that's fine. However, if you choose to make your Force sensitivity known and use any Force powers openly, the Knights of Ren would likely try to get a hold of you if they find out. Just like the Empire of old, the First Order probably wouldn't want any unchecked Force Users roaming around.

I have thought about, that and do believe I have a way to avoid that issues, he limits his study and use of the force to healing abilities, and perhaps a few other precog, force choke. As well voluntary training with the KOR. This while allow for the KOR to keep tabs on him, and also discourages them from trying make him a KOR due limited scope of force abilities and study.

Jude's backstory is that he was in the KoR as a child and early teens but discharged out of it due to his limit on being only able to use mentalism and tutaminis i.e deemed not strong enough for the Ren. Hence, a FU intelligence operative.

Ludolf also gives a fair point about limit, you could always have him be limited to Sense Forcepowers. It would go together very well with being a medic but that's me. You do you.

Bear in mind that without training in the Ren, it is more realistic that your character won't be able to use Force powers as easily or controlled.

good points, i think my plan is a nice middle ground, limiting him to healing abilities, and maybe a few other thing , I'm thinking battle prcog, and maybe telekinesis or force choke. and that will the extent, thus his limitation would make unsuitable to be a KOR but I also to him some training with the KOR in those specif areas. I also don't plan have him go beyond knight level mastery of these powers. speaking of I really talk the leader of KOR and star setting some threads up for this.
