In Private Lear's words- he was born on Thyferra. And that's the motivation he needed, and the only one. The Alliance was not aggressive enough in Private Lear's eyes of going after the Sith, so he joined with the hero of the Silver Jedi turned Commander in the New Imperial Order, Tulan Kor, heeding Tulan's call for those who wanted revenge-
To come and earn it.
Private Lear enlisted when Tulan began pushing for Demon Company to be formed after they suffered heavy losses. Private Lear wanted to make the Sith bleed for what they did to his family, his home, and his planet. And as the Iron eye of the New Imperial Order turned it's eyes towards aiding the Alliance at Ziost- who failed his planet, his home, Private Lear was among the first to request to be apart of Task Force Imperator, under Tulan Kor's command.
Private Lear seeks his pound of flesh from the Sith.
