Intent: Deflector Shield Generators to be used to protect important areas/buildings on Commenor and other CSA worlds from attack.
Canon Link: n/a
Restricted Missions: n/a
Primary Source: n/a

PRODUCTION INFORMATION

Manufacturer: Commenor Engineer Corps.
Model: CSA-DSG1 (Deflector Shield Generator System)
Affiliation: Commenor Systems Alliance, Commenor
Modularity: No
Production: Minor
Material: Double-hulled durasteel frame, generator components, shield emitter components, battery components

SPECIAL FEATURES
¤ Double-hulled frame
¤ Back-up battery storage
¤ Powerful shield emitter

Strengths:
+ Double-hulled frame protects the DSG1 from some attack during battle.
+ Back-up battery maintains the shield for one standard day if main power supply is cut.
+ Powerful shield emitter protects buildings/areas from bombardments, including those by Star Destroyers.

Weaknesses:
- Consumes a lot of energy, so that even the back-up battery can only last for one standard day.
- Double-hulled frame of the DSG1 cannot withstand attacks by Star Destroyers or Super Star Destroyers.

DESCRIPTION

Chasin City on Commenor, most especially the Senate Hall, has been attacked far too many times in recent history. The political climate is changing both on world and off. So the CSA government has hired it's engineers to design the CSA-DSG1 to project a protective shield system over sensitive areas, such as the Royal Palace, Senate Hall and Chasin City. Such protection provides more time for it's citizens to retreat to the shelters deep below the city in the mining tunnels/emergency shelters. If proven successful, more CSA-DSG1's will be distributed to other worlds in CSA's territory.

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • The Discreet Defenses: Urban Fortification Heavy Turret has been aesthetically designed to blend into the urban landscape. Whether securely fastened to skyscraper rooftops or acting as rectangular landmarks in markets or busy intersections, this heavy turret will provide your city with the safety you desire without the oppressive image of a fortified city. Until activation, the turret system will remain folded up against the main structure obscuring its deadly canons from sight.
Strengths:
  • The turret's four anti-armor miniguns make it adept at holding the line against aerial aggressors and medium sized attack vehicles.
  • Anti-air defenses work best when several turrets are fire-linked and controlled by computer
  • Can be controlled manually
  • Blends in with environment until activation
Weaknesses:
  • Inaccurate against ground troops and small-fast repulsorlift vehicles.
  • Vulnerable to hacking as well as manual override (simple controls)
  • Slow to reload
DESCRIPTION
This urban fortification was envisioned by Iseno military strategists as an acceptable compromise between Commenor's commitment to peace and the realities of an unfriendly and uncertain galaxy. While inactive the powerful weapon systems are folded away, leaving no indication that the tall and wide metal ractangles are anything but power stations or other banal city feature. Specifically designed to look like urban fixtures, these heavy turrets are to be placed on the rooftops of participating cities to create an anti-air defense grid. They can also be placed overlooking large streets or at the edge of cities to engage approaching ground vehicles. The 4 mini guns fire short, destructive bursts or anti-armor rounds. The manual controls are very simple, allowing even those with minimal training to join the city's defense if needed.

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • The Heavy Beam Cannon rests upon a 360 degree rotation-capable platform and the canon has a firing angle of 75 degrees.
Strengths:
  • Without shields, the reactor only has two primary responsibilities: charging the cannon for firing, and providing power to the canon's hydraulics which facilitate relatively fast tracking and turning.
  • The concentrated beam can overwhelm shields and cut smaller warships in half.
  • Simple controls
  • Targeting assistance program
Weaknesses:
  • Does not possess an independent shield generator, they must rely on the shields of their battleship or adjacent portable shields.
  • Vulnerable to attacks from straight above where the cannon has a blind spot.
  • Has trouble targeting smaller, faster ships inside the Stratosphere.
DESCRIPTION
Designed to provide support to orbital defenses as well as engage enemy ships within the atmosphere, the Heavy Beam Cannon fires a concentrated laser beam for 8 seconds before requiring a 15 second cooldown/recharge. This deluge of power concentrated on a single point can easily overwhelm enemy ship shields and burn holes straight through hulls.

The emplacement stands 34 feet tall. The cannon's base is 20 feet wide. The Cannon's length is 60 feet. This design is yet another example of the Commenor Systems Alliance's focus on defensive weaponry. The design allows it to be fixed upon warships where it can tap into the ship's power and increase its rate of fire. When located on planet surfaces, the cannon relies on its own fusion reactor resting within the base structure. In designing the weapon, Iseno's military engineers took into account the CSA's portable shield generators already in service. They therefore elected to forgo installing a dedicated shield and instead focused reactor power to the weapon's fire rate and its movement speed, allowing it to track a wider range of targets. Iseno military theory, led by Sennion Crestmar, demands that military resources by as utilitarian as possible, therefore the weapon's controls are fairly easy to understand and are supported by computer targeting programs.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Multipurpose
  • Weight: Average
  • Resistances

- Kinetic: Average
- Lightsabers: Average
- Sonic/Sound: Average

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Sound Dampening Helmet
  • "Stab Proof" Vest
  • Sealed Armor
  • Belt and Vest Containers
  • Barebones "HUD" to see out of helmet
Strengths:
  • Blaster Protection: As the most popular weapons in the galaxy tend to be blasters, and considering the purpose of being riot gear in addition to military armor, ensuring protection against blasters was of high priority.
  • Dampening Helmet: The helmet is designed to mitigate the effect of noise on the wearer, helping to prevent their hearing from being destroyed due to outside noise.
  • Sealed Armor: Sealed to help fight against chemical and biological warfare. Also to prevent tear gas from affecting the wearer.
  • Riot Prepared: Built to be worn for riots, there are a few containers to hold additional ammo, grenades, or supplies.
  • Low Tech: Due to being constructed with very little integrated technology, should the wearer be struck by an emp or ion attack of some kind, the suit as a whole loses little functionality. With one exception of course.
Weaknesses:
  • Sonic Weaponry: The majority of the armor is comprised of armorweave. While the helmet is made to keep their hearing intact, the total suit does the wearer no real favors protecting against sonic weaponry.
  • Tech Helmet: The helmet is the real technology dependent piece of the armor. An EMP might not negate the majority of the armor, but it does negate the helmet. You know, the part that keeps the had safe, and needs tech to see through.
  • EMP: EMP weapons are especially dangerous, as they negate the helmet's features. Discussed before, this makes them vulnerable to noises damaging their hearing, and to even see out of the helmet requires the basic HUD. this means to see, the helmet must be removed, which breaks the seal protecting the wearer to chemical and biological attacks.
DESCRIPTION

Nordel, one of the nations of Commenor, is most well known for its entertainment industry, very specifically in the realm of sports. In fact, Anteluma, the capital, is known as Commenor's sporting capital city, and the stadium there is the pride of the city. However, being known for sports means the risk of sporting riots is quite, high, to say the least. Tensions and grudges can run wild, and blood can boil under the sun, and with the risk being there... proper riot gear was a necessity. If only as a precaution, that was.

The design was based heavily on the standard uniform of the police, of course, though expanding on the design and adding additional layers for protection from blasters, the most likely threat the uniform would face. To prevent any damage to officer's ears from the threat of noise overload, the helmet was designed to reduce incoming sound waves, dampening them to protect their hearing. This was achieved through an electronic system that adjusted what the helmet played through to the officer within.

Of course, the final product was a well made set of riot gear, which brought a new possibility. The military of Nordel was, while not a militia by any means, essentially little more than a professionally trained militia. Career soldiers existed, of course, but until recent times their uniforms varied wildly, representative of the CSA's widespread population. This uniform however, was relatively simple to create, and produce sufficient levels for the military. Therefore, Lady Shoden ordered the P-02 made into the standard issue military uniform, further uniting the already intertwined military and police forces.

As a military uniform, the riot gear has a distinct advantage of not being particularly electronic dependent. Since there wasn't, say, fifty different systems to keep track of, the uniform forces the troops to be reliant on other means, leaving them capable of operating even through EMPs or ionic attacks. However, the helmet requires its basic HUD, essentially taking the place of a 'visor', to see through. Meaning, without the basic HUD, it was impossible to even walk forward with ease.

The trade off of the suit's low dependancy however was believed to be a valuable trade off, to allow even the police to become soldiers without needing additional training in operating the suit itself.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Multipurpose

- Kinetic (Everywhere else): Low
- Lightsabers: Average

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • "Stab Proof" Vest
  • Sealed Armor w/helmet
  • Officer Belt
  • Barebones "HUD" to see out of helmet
Strengths:
  • Blaster Protection: As the most popular weapons in the galaxy tend to be blasters, and the use of armorweave allows the officer's uniform to be more than sufficient for the purpose of protection.
  • Protective Vest: The Officer's vest is designed to be difficult to stab or shoot through with kinetic weaponry. While it doesn't stop a slug thrower or knife from cutting through their arm or leg, it just might save them from a shot to the chest.
  • Sealed Armor: Sealed to help fight against chemical and biological warfare. However the helmet is near exclusively usable by military personnel.
  • The Long Belt of the Law: As an Officer, a lot can be put on the belt. Blaster pistol, stun prod, force cuffs, a comlink, additional blaster cells, whatever an officer might need.
  • Low Tech: Due to being constructed with very little integrated technology, should the wearer be struck by an emp or ion attack of some kind, the suit as a whole loses little functionality.
Weaknesses:
  • Limbs: The use of thicker armorweave on the vest and shoulders may protect the officer from blasters and kinetic weapons, the limbs of the officer aren't nearly as protected from kinetic weapons.
  • EMP: EMP weapons are especially dangerous, as they negate the helmet's basic HUD. Like the P-02 riot gear, this means the helmet cannot be worn, opening their head to threats similarly to how the limbs are more vulnerable to kinetic weapons than the chest.
  • Durasteel This Is Not: None of the armor is particularly strong, more or less being little more than a scout's armor. The most protective, high tech part of the armor is the military's duraplast helmet. Truthfully, this is little more than a protective civilian armor made for the police.
  • Kinetic Force: While very good at stopping physical weapons, physical force will travel through the armor. A kinetic weapon may not puncture the armor, necessarily, it will cause an impact that causes damage to the wearer.
DESCRIPTION

The job of a police officer is dangerous duty, requireing one to be both sufficiently protected as well as approachable by the populace. Too much protection and you blur the line of officer and soldier, and alienate the populace. Too little, and it becomes impossible to stay safe, or identify the officers on duty. A simple solution, beyond Nordel's merging of much of its police and military infrastructure, was to create an armorweave uniform capable of standing out within a crowd. The black and white uniform stands out in day or night, and is unmistakable to those they serve.

An additional, thicker vest was added to protect the center of mass, the most likely place to get hurt, and a poncho for poor weather. The P-01, then only a police uniform, was completed satisfactorily, and a hat was added for good measure. The military, while finding the armor insufficient for use as a mainline armor, opted to create a duraplast helmet, and create a seal for the armor as a scout's field armor. The P-01 is far more likely to be used by a police officer than a soldier, but it is a sufficient armor to keep someone alive against most situations a law officer could expect.

That is to say, not the front lines, but possibly a bank heist.

Strengths:
  • Blaster Protection: As the most popular weapons in the galaxy tend to be blasters, and considering the purpose of being riot gear in addition to military armor, ensuring protection against blasters was of high priority.
  • Kinetic Protection: Unlike the P-02, durasteel is of a higher quantity than before. This means kinetic weapons are similarly protected against, as blasters are already protected against.
  • Dampening Helmet: The helmet is designed to mitigate the effect of noise on the wearer, helping to prevent their hearing from being destroyed due to outside noise. As its secondary role being devoted to heavy weapons experts, it is even more capable of this than the P-02.
  • Sealed Armor: Sealed to help fight against chemical and biological warfare. Also to prevent tear gas from affecting the wearer.
  • Riot Prepared: Built to be worn for riots, there are a few containers to hold additional ammo, grenades, or supplies.
  • HUD: The Riot Lead's armor is more advanced than the standard Riot gear, due to the limited production. These officers tend to be of higher rank than the others, and the HUD is meant to relay information across riot squads. It shows alerts dispatch can send out, and allows seeing through the helmet.
Weaknesses:
  • Sonic Weaponry: The majority of the armor is comprised of armorweave. While the helmet is made to keep their hearing intact, the total suit does the wearer no real favors protecting against sonic weaponry. In fact the more metal might even become a liability, compared to similar grade gear.
  • Tech Helmet: The helmet is the real technology dependent piece of the armor. An EMP might not negate the majority of the armor, but it does negate the helmet. You know, the part that keeps the head safe, and needs tech to see through.

DESCRIPTION

Knowing the risk a large scale riot would entail, select riot gear had to be created to manage the large force of riot officers that would be necessary, should the Anteluma stadiums become the center of violence. Therefore, to protect the ranking officers who would relay orders and organize the mass forces, the P-03 was created to be even more protective than standard issue riot gear. While making ranking officers more visible, such was seen as necessary to enhance their worst-case scenario response.

Not wishing the armor to go to waste, the armor was expanded somewhat into the enhanced armor built for heavy weapons specialists in the Nordel military. As the rank and file were by far the most numerous, less of the armor was necessary to be put together. These suits would become worn by essentially only by handfuls of troopers in special forces, despite lacking in any particularly enhanced capabilities.

SPECIAL FEATURES

  • HUD
  • Sealed Armor
Strengths:
  • Good Luck Blasters: The personal guard of Lady Shoden must be ready, at any moment, to be physical walls for her safety. Thus the massive plate armor is made to be incredibly resilient to blaster bolts, as it is most likely what they will be forced to take for her safety. Additionally since no unit uses a handheld energy shield, they lack one of Nordel's usual defenses against attacks, further justifying the focus on defense.
  • Kinetic Protection: Similar to other heavy armors, it is remarkably difficult to penetrate the phrik plates of these 8 sets of armor. It is by no means impossible, but it is an uphill battle.
  • Lightsaber Resistant: The use of Phrik, near exclusively, makes the entire suit able to stand up to lightsabers for a time. While repeated direct blows will cut through the armor all the same, glancing blows and single strikes will be more painful than fatal.
  • HUD: The Riot Lead's armor is more advanced than the standard Riot gear, due to the limited production. These officers tend to be of higher rank than the others, and the HUD is meant to relay information across riot squads. It shows alerts dispatch can send out, and allows seeing through the helmet.
