  • Ankle Vibroblade Sheathe
STRENGTHS
  • Ghost in the Shell: The Eclipse is an extremely advanced next generation armorweave bodysuit designed to give Republic operatives a technological edge without sacrificing on stealth. Packed together so tightly as to be soundless as opposed to typical scale plating, each suit is covered in multiple layers of sensor scattering polymers and equipped with a sonic dampener that eliminates ambient noise in a one meter radius.
  • Enhanced Absorption: Constructed from expensive and difficult to produce Stygian-triprismatic polymer, Eclipe stealth suits provide superior kinetic resistances while maintaining a lightweight flexibility. Extensive anti-ion mesh running layered throughout and combat de-ionizers also shield each operative from ion blasts or electrical discharges.
WEAKNESSES
  • Point Blank: Eclipse suits are not warplate, and at short range its ability to disperse high velocity impacts is much more limited. Both energy and projectile rounds are more effective up close, rendering the bodyglove less effective in melee.
  • Vulnerable Joints: Like all scale plating, the stealth suit's armor polymers are most effective across larger surface areas such as center mass. Absorbing impacts on the extremities and joints can cause significant injury, and they are also vulnerable to sharp enough bladed weapons.
  • Spatial Awareness: Vision through the Eclipse's retractable sensor optics is limited, and taking advantage of the stealth suit's more advanced tracking features limits an operative's peripheral sight lines.
DESCRIPTION

A cutting edge piece of experimental Arkanian forged technology, the Eclipse Mark III Stealth Suit is the latest issue for all Republic Strategic Information Service field operatives. Sharing some design traditions with earlier versions from the agency's time centralized in Galactic Alliance space, the Mark III bridges the gap and represents one of the first projects the newly Arkanian based Strategic Solutions selected to update.

Through expensive microcomputer technology the functionality of a warhelm is more or less recreated in the Eclipse's tactical macrobinoculars. A fully functional holographic blink command operated heads up display is visible through each lens, fully compatible with any Republic issue or modified optical implant. Raising the goggles allows an unrestricted range of vision albeit sans augmented reality.

The Mark III's ultra-lightweight and extraordinarily flexible scale disc polymers allow for enhanced resistances while remaining entirely soundless. A sonic dampening generator attached to each bodysuit blocks out all ambient noise in a one meter radius of the operative, and even the Eclipse's Hush-About AJP-400 personal jetpack comes equipped with auditory dampeners and sound baffling that renders its engine completely silent.

These stealth suits' appearances are not always entirely uniform. Each bodyglove is tailor made for its designated recipient, and often modified over time to suit an operative's preferred specializations. Common to all Eclipses however is the additional layer of obsidian reflec coat polymers and the glow from their optics.

ADVANCED SYSTEMS

[*]Battlecruiser-class Encrypted Communication System

[*]Battlecruiser-class Navigation Systems

[*]Integrated Fleet Command Data Exchange Network
[*]Diatium Capacitance Array
Strengths:
  • Modified Heavy Shields: Powerful shields made the Ferrata-Class difficult to harm in combat.
  • Atmospheric Landing: The Ferrata-Class was able to land in atmosphere and act as a military base and command center due to its advanced targeting and communications arrays.
  • EMP: Connor nets and EMPs do not effect the Ferrata-Class.
Weaknesses:
  • Heavy: In atmosphere the Ferrata-class is extremely slow and incredibly unwieldy. Damage to its internal systems, repulsors, or engines while in atmosphere could end in a catastrophic crash landing.
  • Point-Defense Only: Without proper support, the Ferrata-Class is vulnerable to assault from capital ships due to a lack of anti-capital weapons.
  • Ion Weapons: Affect the ship like any other.
Description: Constructed in the shipyards of the Sith Empire, the Ferrata-Class Corps Assault Carrier was a devastating and effective tool utilized in long campaigns against the Galactic Alliance. Capable of disgorging entire armies from its belly, the Ferrata-Class was a two kilometer behemoth. However, when the campaign against the Light was ended and the Alliance had fallen, many of these battlecruisers were left behind with limited support to uphold treaties between the Sith and First Order. As the Core began to recover, the New Republic took the place of the fallen Alliance and began their own campaign against these Sith remnants. Corellia too, started its own campaign to retake its system back from Sith control. With the aid of the New Republic Corellia was freed and many of the Ferrata-Class carriers that remained in nearby systems as bulwarks were systematically assaulted and either captured or destroyed. The few captured were taken by various planetary governments and integrated into their defense forces. These ships were often heavily modified to accommodate for smaller governments with aid from the New Republic.

Packed behind layers of reinforced hull were dozens of hangars, garages, and store rooms which were used by the Sith to house weapons of mass destruction. Running nearly the entire length of the ship, a ventral hangar bay sat between the battlecruiser's two massive bridge towers. This runway way was large enough to hold large transports and was capable of deploying nearly half of the ship's total starfighter compliment or receive multiple fighters during combat. The runway connected to the various port and starboard hangar bays via a complex system of lifts and tunnels which allowed received fighters to be returned to their hangars and readied for re-launch. When not in use, large, thick turadium blast doors kept crews safe and starfighters protected.

The weapons compliment of such a ship was of course limited, especially after modifications. Turbolasers were replaced with light turbolaser turrets to better target the lighter corvettes and frigates they would inevitably deal with from pirates. A modest array of point defense laser cannons and quad laser cannons defended it against starfighters and missiles and when coupled with the ship's own massive fighter compliment the Ferrata-class was easily able to defend off most small-scale attacks on its own. Where it struggled was in ship-to-ship combat. Not meant for direct engagements. Powerful shield generators and armor allowed it to remain an immovable object for a time, but without an escort or support ships that could fight back the massive space fortress would eventually fall. Realizing this, many governments limited the hyperdrive's power draw, limiting its long range capabilities in favor of more energy towards shields and other defenses. The modified Ferrata's engines too were limited in power. As a result, on Corellia these vessels were re-assigned unofficially as space stations and parked just beyond hyperspace egress points and were utilized as part of CorSec's customs and immigration support. Due to the vessel's ability to land on a world, the vessel was rarely used as a full military base as well.

Though the Ferrata-class was designed as an invasion tool, the remnants of these massive vessels often removed many of the walkers and used the space for other utility. CorSec for example utilized one of their Ferrata-class carriers as a training vessel for pilots and ship crew, replacing the garages with extensive firing ranges and immersive simulators. Tools of war were changed into tools for defense and education. Though few in number, the New Republic saw fit to distribute these ships wisely among its member worlds. Due to a clash in military doctrine however, the Ferrata-class would not see use in the New Republic fleet itself.
