Powers that Be

Location: Corellia, Undisclosed Location.

Purpose: Unification

“In the interests of our great governments, our people and the Galaxy at large…I have brought you all here to discuss and item of great importance.” She sat at the end of the darkened oak conference table, her hands gently tracing the darker lines of the wood’s edges. “We know now, more than ever that the Republic is dying.” She held a hand up towards the people present. “If it isn’t apparent now, it will be soon enough.”

She brought her hands together and looked to her right at [member="Ayden Cater"]. “There had been talks of Alliances before, but an alliance is something that is short term..."

She knew it was something that had been in the works before but the actual bindings that kept it together had fallen apart and disappeared in the sands of time. Now, the hour glass which held the sand was running out, and the Republic didn’t have many options left. It was about the ways of the Republic surviving, it was about the people who trusted the elected officials of the Republic to do the right thing and the right thing was to merge together with their allies and form something greater.

OOC Note: If you are not tagged, you are not invited. I don’t care who you are. You don’t know about this meeting, locations, times, people, whatever. Thanks.

"This is a surprise to me, but I'm thinkin' maybe it shouldn't have been."

Everyone present knew his combat record with the Protectorate and his position on the Jedi Council, until its very recent dissolution. Some of those present also knew that he'd been cooperating with Ayden in securing holocrons, well out of the reach of Ossus repeats. Everyone knew he had vested interests in seeing this brought to pass. And thus-

"You all know where I stand on this, and why I think it'd be wise, so I'll leave my fingerprints off it unless someone needs to know somethin' technical."

His eyes narrowed.

"One thing I'll say, though, no point in talking about this if I ain't assured the Chancellor's onboard. No one person speaks for the Republic, not even him, but he's sort of a prerequisite."
