COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Small
  • Unit Availability: Unique
  • Unit Experience: Elite
  • Equipment:
    • Attire
      • Helmet: Red plastoid helmet

It is here they are divided and placed one per high priest, leaving the six remaining warriors to protect the supposed mouthpiece of their deities, the Voice. Individually they are skilled enough in combat to nearly keep up with a Jedi Knight. As a unit, they utilize swarm tactics and attempt to overwhelm enemies together as a single cohesive force.
Strengths:
  • Trained in the Jedi Arts:
  • Martial Artists:
    • Each member of the Palatine Guard is an adept practitioner of Teräs Käsi, a martial arts form created to combat Jedi. They hone their skills each day over long sparring sessions and brutal training sessions.
  • Rudimentary knowledge of the Dark side of the Force:
    • Trained by Darth Solipsis Darth Solipsis to harness their anger and pain, they are able access telekinesis and draw on their rage in order to strengthen their bodies.
Weaknesses:
  • Sociopaths:
    • Already baseline sociopathic due to their heritage among the Brotherhood, the Guard suffers far more than their common brothers and sisters due to their training. The mental onslaught of the Heathen Priests and brutal training they underwent mixed in with supplements of drugs in order to fashion fanatical warriors willing to die for them, the Guard suffers from extreme sociopathic traits. Antisocial, and an utter lack of empathy or conscience. The Palatine Guard have been hollowed out and molded into clay soldiers willing to die for their masters.
  • Narcotic Dependency:
    • An unfortunate side effect of the indoctrination process is a total dependency on the drugs administered to the Guard during their training. This coupled with the emotional trauma they suffered in order to become what they are makes them a ticking time bomb if not properly medicated by Spice, Kryotin, or whatever drug administered to them.
  • Dark Side Degradation:
    • Due to the extensive time spent among the Heathen Priests and Voice of the Maw, or the result of their dark indoctrination, the Palatine Guard suffer from minor forms of Dark Side degradation. The color of their eyes is a sulfuric yellow, and the tone of their skin has started to pale despite their rudimentary knowledge of the Dark Side.
  • Overzealous:
    • Due to their brain-washing and narcotic induced indoctrination, the Guard are absolutely fanatical in their resolve to keep their charge safe no matter whether it led to personal harm or sacrificing their own lives to do so. They are fiercely protective of the Heathen Priests and the Voice, suffering no insult against the dark clergy whether it is friend or foe, willing to strick down anyone at a moment's notice whether ordered or not.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Pontifical Palatini was created in 862 ABY at the behest of the Heathen Priests to the warlords running the Brotherhood of the Maw. It wasn't until the ascension of the Voice of the Maw, a previously nonexistent position among the clergy, joined the Brotherhood claiming to speak for the Avatars of War, Death, and Rebirth that the Palatine Guard were molded into what they are now.

Handpicked among the masses for their skill, hardiness, and intelligence, thirty warriors were set aside to undergo indoctrination. The process was long and grueling, the training brutal, their personalities abandoned. The barbaric priests of the Brotherhood subjected these warriors to narcotics and mental probing in order to restructure their minds into the perfect warrior to defend them. Forced to abandon everything they loved and discard their own identities in fanatical devotion, only twelve survived their training to become Palatine Guard as the old incarnation was swiftly cast aside.

The Guard serve aboard the Gehinnom and follow their charges wherever they are needed, occasionally being dispatched on their own for missions of extreme importance to the clergy. Half of the Palatine Guard hold court in the Voice's audience chamber where the seer speaks to his flock amidst the Holy City of Gehinnom. They jealously guard their masters with utter devotion, viewing each visitor as a possible interloper to be dealt with.

Thanks! Starting off, Gehinnom has yet to have an official lore sub yet as I'm waiting for a factory sub for the worldcraft it will be based on to come through, and the Voice of the Maw is Darth Solipsis Darth Solipsis 's title among the Maw. The Avatars of War, Death, and Rebirth do not have links and are aspects of the Brotherhood's religion as outlined on the faction page for prospects. Other than that I believe the changes have been addressed and changed. Much appreciated!
