Private Point of No Return

Voph took shelter behind a tree overlooking the structure below, his brow furrowing as he studied the stone pylons. Voph unslung the saber from his back, and gripped it tight. There were no guards in sight, nor were there any more fighters visible from where they sat. His gaze lingered on the entrance for a moment, wondering if there might be any better ways in. "Oh really? I was just thinking I should bring the kids on vacation." Of course it reeked of bad news. It was a tomb. On Dxun. Didn't matter who the current tenants were.

Voph glanced back to the others for a brief moment, then nodded towards Aedrien. "Stay close to the Jedi. I'm going to investigate the entrance. I'll signal when it's safe to approach." Voph's hand moved as if he were pulling a cloak around him, but instead he vanished from sight. Voph moved silently through the jungle towards the structure below, pausing at the edge of one of the columns as he heard two voices conversing. They were speaking in low tones that Voph could easily discern if he so chose, but decided such would not be a necessity at this point in time. He was on the clock. It was time to hunt.

'Well, you're practically doing so already' is what Aedrien wanted to say. She nearly did so, too, the words on the tip of her tongue before a rare moment of self-control reminded her of how doing so would achieve nothing. That didn't stop her from glaring daggers into Voph's back as he moved forward.

She was, well, far from pleased when Voph turned back to herself and the two civilians, especially so when he instructed them to stay with her. They were his responsibility, he said so himself. So why was she being saddled with guarding them? She blinked once, twice, as Voph completely vanished from view, taken aback in the moment but shortly shaking her head in annoyance. Cool trick, no doubt, but not nearly as cool when she didn't have one herself.

About 30 seconds was as long as she was willing to entertain the orders to wait. She cast a quick look at the other two. "If you're coming, stay 20 paces behind," she said before setting out on her own. Her feet were quiet against the foliage that made up the forest, this time taking care in what steps she took when before she'd simply shouldered past everything. Hearing voices, she drew to a halt, half-listening in on the conversation, half focussing elsewhere. Eyes closing, she reached out through other senses, getting a better idea of the surroundings before risking revealing herself.
