First Reply Play the Bes'bev

Leddie was still on Wistril, and probably should've been in bed resting, but she was never good at resting, and anywhere that let her play tended to be nice. How she still had all her horns was a miracle. Either way, she was her now with her bes'bev out and playing and in a bit of a rarity for her singing, swapping between Concordian Mando'a and Basic with easy. Her style was more akin to a wider Outer Rim music than Mandalorian, but that was just a nice side effect of life in the Fleet. Still, there was another reason she was here. She really needed to cool off after everything, and for the young Gred, no better way to do that than a little music to ease her mind.

Kael had doctored himself and changed after the fight. Shaken up and worried about Adelle until she had finally shooed him from their quarters, he made his way to where the festivities were. He didn't drink; however, he needed to forget the pain of the fight and was also concerned about the other verd from the fight. Walking the lanes of the festival, Kael heard music and slowly made his way in its direction.

On a small dias, he saw the music's source; it was the Zabrak from the fight, somewhat cleaned up, and playing the bes'bev. He walked nearer and sat at a table, knowing the tune he sang along, the bass of his voice rumbling counterpoint to her melody. While he sang and watched, he tried to take stock of her injuries, if any, so that he could offer to help if she didn't mind later.

Leddie was a little surprised when she heard the voice, and spotted another foundling singing along to the tune. He actually knew it? Well, it was nice that someone seemed to be joining in. She continued playing and singing, swaying to the beat. It would be obvious her side was still hurting from the Whistling Bird. She still had a slight limp from it all. And something less physical. Her mind was still in termoil after everything. What she'd been shown during the fight. The memories brought back up.... Those hurt more. And what better for that than music. Still, physically it was obvious she hadn't actually gone to a medic after everything.

Leddie would finish her song, taking a breath as she looked out at everyone, and smiled at Kael Varr Bastiel Skirata Kael Varr Bastiel Skirata . It was nice when someone joined in. She lowered the Bes'bev, finally as she looked over. "So.... Any requests?" She asked, still not fully sure how to interact with the others, and trying to bury any pain she had, physical and mental.

Kael smiled at the Zabrak, enjoying her music. When she asked for requests, he smiled, "Do you know the one about the Verd that refused to go see a medic after her fight with two Mand'alor?" It was in jest, but what he saw, combined with being there in the fight with her, made him feel slightly protective. A feeling that made him pause. Since when did he care about others besides his Buir, Adelle? Something had clicked during the fight. something that made him fiercely protective of his new family, and that is how he saw the Mandalorians he had met. "Will you let me at least check you over? I know I'm still training as a medic, but I can still tell if we need to get you to a bacta tank."

Leddie would start to frown a little. Definitely not expecting that. “Osik, Kael…. Thought I was hiding it.” She admitted, still trying to look strong. She definitely had an independent streak, wanting to just keep going and not fully admit just how much of a beating she took. She sighed, finally seeming to admit she needed help.

“Ok. You can check.” She said as she walked over. She was a Zabrak. Maybe she was more hurt than she realized. Especially if Kael was about to notice it while she was playing. “Is the coat ok, or do I need to set it aside for this?” She asked as she slid her bes’bev onto the small hip case she had.

Kael would blush and look down shyly. "My apologies, Miss Gred, but the coat will have to come off. I don't want to miss a critical injury," he would keep his eyes down to let her shrug off the spacer's greatcoat. Once she was ready, he quickly gave her a once-over. Once he got to her side, his touch gentled as he prodded and checked the ribs; two were broken, and she had a nasty bruise that he could see through the burned hole from the microrocket. He would fish out a bacta patch from his kit and work it through the whole to cover the bruise, and then pull out a wrap to cover and support the ribs, trying his best to support the ribs while still allowing her to breathe and to be able to play her instrument. "My apologies, is this too tight?"

“Oh! Uh… Leddie’s fine.” She said, looking down too in a mirror of Kael’s own actions. She was pretty sure that was the first time anyone called her miss without one of her little brothers adding a joke to it. Still, she’d remove the coat, and it would soon become obvious just own light her armor with. A breast plate, body glove, gauntlets, and some armorweave on the boots. It was minimalist for sure.

She tried her best not to wince when he found the broken ribs, and when he pressed the patch over her bruises. She failed at this, but still she was trying to act tough, even if it didn’t help with knowing what was injured. Still, she tried to keep still, letting Kael do his work as he finished by adding a wrap for her ribs. Then she heard him apologize if he’d made the wrap too tight, turning to look.

“It’s ok. Not too tight or anything.” She looked at the wrap again, then back up at Kael. She smiled a little, taking a breath as if testing the wrap.

“Thanks…. It honestly feels a lot better.”

Kael would stop a moment before going down to her leg. "Nothing here seems broken, probably just overstrained. You are a spacer, correct? It would explain a bit of the bone density lessening that the scans are showing. Noting against it, just most spacers keep their ship's artificial gravity at a comfortable level, which can cause this effect. My semi-unofficial medical opinion would be to spend a week or so planetside for every month on a ship every so often, or tune your ship's artificial gravity slightly higher if you know you are going to be in a fight." While Kael was doing his best to sound as clinical as possible, but he had just survived fighting two Mand'alore, one dar'jetti, one jetti, and came out... not on top, but also not in the infirmery. He had the force, but from what he could sense of her, she did not, which made her achievement that much more impressive to him. He also had started to feel very protective of the people around him, all feelings he was working through himself. "May I buy you a drink?"

Leddie nodded a little as she listened. She knew some of the folks who'd spent their whole lives as spacers mentioned it. Making trips planet side if you could. The early years it just seemed impossible at times. And with that many people per large vessel, it wasn't going to be an easy standard to meet. She'd mention the gravity thing though when she got back. She took a breath as she turned to grab her coat. "I'll be sure to let the engineers know about the gravity thing. Maybe have the fleet's ships set higher." She smiled, slipping the coat back on, maybe a little bit from having taken one beating today and perfering the extra armor. Then Kael asked if he could buy her a drink.

The Zabrak gave a surprised look, not fully sure how to take it at first. But she quickly seemed to catch herself, though a hint of surprise remained. "I.... Yeah. That's be nice actually after everything." She said, smiling, and trying to hide a little bit of the pain, as useless as it actually was given Kael just saw her injuries.

Kael went and paid for a bottle of mando papuur'gal and brought it back to the table. "You did great in the Verd'gotten, by the way. In my opinion, you did better than I, though I feel the fight was by no means fair, even for ones that can touch the manda, or force, as the case may be." he poured her a glass before pouring himself one and sniffing the spiced wine. "To lessons learned, and to life itself, its bounty, its challenges, and to the healing in between," he said, raising the glass to her.

Leddie would give Kael a surprised look. He thought she did well? Leddie chuckled a little, more tired than anything.

“Not sure I’d say that. I froze up when he…. Well….” She looked down, trying to just hide her own thoughts on things too much. She then sighed and smiled. “Thanks. Guess I didn’t think of how brutal that fight was.” The Zabrak took her glass, listening to the toast as she raised her glass too.

“And to making some new friends along the way.” She said, keeping a small smile as she tried the drink. She then looked over at Kael before speaking up.

“I think you did good too. I mean, I’ve never been around Battle Meditation, but it seemed to worked.”
