Plate of Escargot

"What's that supposed to mean?" Lilin laughed, trying to make a sound of fake annoyance. She could understand the boy was trying to lighten the mood and turn the atmosphere funner. Because to be honest, it had started to drift towards the more brooding and philosophical side. It would have been fun to talk about the meaning of life and people relations and everything, but neither of the kids really were the philosophist type of people.

She was the first child of her family as well.

"I wish I could be more like my brother -- careless, reckless, dumb."

Yes, her brother meant something to the Jedi Padawan, but the two had always picked at each other, made some silly comments about each other, pranked each other... These were the old times, though. Now she was a Jedi and Vindi was, well, doing something. She had no idea what he was doing, though.

Being a family of Jedi wasn't the thing of the Lancaster-Imperieuse bloodline. A ton of Sith, darksiders, naturally corrupt kids and a few Jedi is what their family really was. She would have loved if all three children had joined the Covenant together, but that was obviously only a stupid dream.

"But I guess the first born syndrome is quite real," the girl joked.

“I know right?” Micah quipped back, his Lorrdian upbringing allowing him to glean a more lighter attitude from the younger teen. He scrunched up his face and gave a silly grin, followed by a dramatic roll of his eyes.

“So stuffy… always their nose in a holopad… reading novels.” he was describing his older sister Aela, but was also teasing Lilin a bit.

“And hey! I see nothing wrong with being a little reckless! It is what younger brothers have to do in order to keep things interesting!” he continued with mock affront. Clearly he didn’t consider anything Lilin said seriously. The light banter was doing wonders and Micah did enjoy making others feel better.

“You’re doing good there,” he gestured with a finger, pointing at the shell. Indeed, they were now a quarter of the way done. Slow, considering a lightsaber was cutting it, but that is why they came here. The Shell was a great material. “We’ll be done soon enough.”

"Thanks! Doing my best over here," the girl while trying to come up with something snarky and interesting to say. The point was, Lilin loved socialising with people, but that didn't mean she would be full of sarcastic comments and great chit-chat and small talk. Neither was she a sophisticated philosopher. There was a fine golden middle way, but sometimes it was just difficult for the girl to finally reach that.

She took a look at the lightsaber, then looking at the shell. Yeah, they were pretty far, but there was a lot more to go. She had time, just like she believed Micah had. Because that's what they had come here to do. And that's what she had reserved the day for.

Lilin didn't know what to add to the family talk. She felt a little bit annoyed by herself by now -- she was practically a whiny little girl who didn't like her family and her so-called 'destiny'. But then again, she didn't have much good to say about her family, either. So it was for the best that she changed the topic.

"It's so weird. I mean, half a year ago, I wouldn't have even thought about adventuring or exploring different planets and everything. But now I'm the wildest I've ever been, going on adventures here and there."

She hpmhed before continuing.

"That's crazy, but I love it."

"Well, as my mum says," Micah replied, flexing his fingers as he observed Liliane almost complete the cut through the piece of shell they required.

"The Force wills it." his right shoulder gave a shrug. It was what it was. Wherever Liliane would find herself at, it was the will of the Force.

"At least you are having fun," that roguish grin crept back upon the Talith's lips, bright orange eyes twinkling.

"You are doing good. Just a little bit more and we will be done with this." From there it was simply carving out the specific portions of the shell that the blonde would require.

"Mmhmm," Lilin murmured, focusing on the cut. She had to admit she really was doing well. It was no easy task to cut through such a durable material. It needed some patience, some strength, some willpower. Some people might have quit the whole thing, but she was really determined to get the material.

An armour was going to be a really important part of her life. Fighting against Sith was not going to be easy if you only had a horrible robe or some simple New Jedi Order armour. She needed the real deal.

She hadn't even noticed the passing of time -- everything had been happening so quickly. Maybe because she was having fun. Things really were different if you came from spending your whole childhood with only your family to hanging out and doing fun things with real friends. She was finally feeling happier than ever before.

And then the Padawan could feel the saber making it to the end of the cut. And she could only feel proud for herself, even though a lot more work was to be done.

"Oh." A quiet, surprised mutter was her initial reaction to the saber cutting through the shell.

"Okay, careful with your saber," Micah interjected with encouragement, his cheeky smile ever present as the young Talith moved in to collect the shell before it fell. There was some weight to it, but it would be processed down as they shaped it to whatever Liliane would so desire. He might even make a trinket out of it or two.

"I got this here," he assured her, fingers curling around the edge of the shell. Underneath them, the Greater Calama slumbered on, the thick foot on which the pair used as their perch rising and falling in with each slow breath. Once he and Liliane were gone, the snail would simply continue, once again emanating that darkslide miasma. No harm and no foul.

"Let's get this to the ground. Should be enough for what we need."

Lilin nodded. She couldn't keep her eyes from glancing at the piece of shell, though. It felt weird to think that she had done a lot of the work to get that very piece. And even weirder was to think that a portion of that would be decorating and strengthening her armour. Oh the shivers she had when she imagined that.

"Yeah," she could only say. The Greater Calama, physically completely functional and healthy, would probably not even notice a part of its shell being gone. And even if it did, the shell would probably grow back or something. She didn't know this species' physiology, so she couldn't make any promises, though.

She looked into Micah's bright orange eyes, then smirked. "I believe it's your saber," the girl said, reaching her hand forward to hand the boy his lightsaber. She didn't know how to reconfigure the settings on it, so she didn't even bother to try. The Talith probably knew better how to use his weapon.

"The rest of the work surely takes time, right? Cutting it into the right shapes, doing some Force magic on it and everything else...?" the Padawan made a guess.

Micah shone a warm smile over to the young blonde, the right corner of his mouth quirking up to flash a brief dimple.

"Thanks," he added, his fingers curling around his saber. He drew his arm back, locking it in place by his waist upon the magnetic clip.

"Yeah. It can take time. But I have a few connections and tools that could help speed up the process." his uncle Dissero's shop that is.

"But once that is done, the rest is relatively fast. Imbuement would only take a day."

"Alright. Thank goodness I'm not in a hurry," the girl replied.

"So, what's the plan now? We leave and you take the shell with you? And then you let me know when it's ready?" Lilin was curious. Her hands were a little bit numb; she could feel it only now that she no longer had to hold onto the saber like her life depended on it.

"Oh shoot, you'd need some blueprints or something as well, right?"

To be honest, Lilin didn't quite know what she wanted the armour look right. She could easily sketch something up, but she was certain it would then look a little bit more lika a wampa on a speeder than a sketch of an armour. So that may have been a slight complication.

Perhaps they could work something out together... She didn't know whether the boy was good at drawing or not. Or if he had connections for that as well.

"We can leave and I can get everything cut for your for your armor." Micah replied, already moving and utilizng the Force to telekinetically move the cut shell up into the air and over the massive Calama.

"Just gonna set this onto the ground a bit." he told her, moving towards the edge of the foot. Underneath them the Greater Calama slowly would breathe in and out.

"You can send me the schematics you want on how they should be cut, and I can do it for you. Toss in whatever imbuement you desire and it can be easy."
