Strengths:
  • Massive damage, plasma explosions always burn after it hits something, resulting in bad, irreparable damage.
  • Ignores shields, super heated plasma passes through conventional shielding.
Weaknesses:
  • High power usage, plasma requires a high amount of energy to control and turn into a weapon.
  • Overheats, continuous fire for a half an hour well cause the barrels of the turret to melt, if not cooled.
Description:

Developed as an anti-ship weapon, the Type-31, combined with it's long range, high rate of fire and ability to ignore conventional shielding make it a deadly weapon to mount. It uses super heated plasma, stored in massive battery tanks, to charge, direct and fire at large warships.

How are you this fine day, [member="Jagger Fuga"]? I'll be judging your submission. :D

There are a few major things that keep me from letting this through;
  • Firstly, what is your in-character rationale for Legionary Manufacturing for being able to develop plasma weaponry? The plasma type you are using is extremely rare in the galaxy, being used only by the Qektoth Confederation and that was 800 years ago.
  • Even then, there are some issue with this submission that make it near-gamebreaking.
    9000 kilometers is way too much, and that's effective range. Please lower it to something reasonable, such as standard turbolaser range or double that with some development.
  • 21 rounds a minute means that this is firing nearly every 3 seconds, and with the strengths this weapon has, that makes it only slightly slower than a regular turbolaser.

[*]Also, the development thread you've linked is minimal, not necessitating the power the submission has.
So here's some solutions:
  1. Lower the rounds per minute and effective range, and put the production to semi-unique
  2. Lower the effective range, remove the shield-piercing capability, and put the production to minor.
  3. Give ten more posts of development, lower the effective range, and put the production to limited
